I have access to all three starters if you want, but someone'll have to tell me how to trade over Wi-Fi.
I got both versions and I'm having a friend play Gold while I play Silver.

If your ds is already connected to wifi, then you go downstairs in any pokecenter. If not, maybe this should work?I hooked up to wi-fi with my little bro's too long ago so I'm sketchy ont he details. Also, I think we must register each other's friendcodes in the device you have in the special items pocket.

I don't think I'll be able to trade with you from the place I'm currently living in Uia, but let me try a few things or maybe other locations and I'll get back to you on that. Or if Track gets to you first that's fine but I'll get you a Totodile if you still want one, I don't even care if you send me a Pidgey or something.

That's fun. No rush, and keep me posted.
Did anyone beat clair yet? I could've beaten her by now, but my line-up ain't too great against her dragons. I just can't manage to take down her Kingdra...

I'm taking things real slow and training up to be strong for anything of course my path would be the longest trek I have taken. So far things have been proven true. The 3 birds are there and Mewtwo are back with agusto. Right now I'm in Golden Rod just beat the crap out of Whitney. The longest battle with the flippin Militank ahhhhhhhh!!!! Made me scream at the top of my lungs. Milk Drink and Attract combo really wasted my time with her seeing as I was at a slight disadvantage to begin with being all my pokemon are male... The only time I catch females are for pokemon who are of the elemental prowess because the female growth supports the Specail Attack and Defense stat pretty well. So I won't be tradin or anything till after I at least get to Ecretek or whatever the city is called I have a lvl 18 Geodude leveling it to a Graveller and hoping to trade evolve it a lttle after I get The Graveller.

lol yea, whitney's a trick. I had a geodude for a little bit too, but then I decided I wanted a steelix later on, so I got that guy's Onix in Violet City. Rocky's the name.
So what's everyone's main team? Mines:
Typhlosion(FlareStorm) lvl. 40 Dragonair(Ethereal) lvl. 38 Togetic(Varia Ace) lvl. 37 Pidgeot(SkyFury) lvl. 37 Red Gyarados(ScarletSin) lvl. 37 Onix(Rocky[peh]) lvl. 39
I rely on Gyarados and Typhlosion the most. Onix sucks. his stats are so low, save for his defense. Everyone else is okay. Pidgeot could have some potential if they hadn't deleted wing attack from its moveset. I'm stuck with gust and fly.(the other two support skills) I have a few tms for him but I'm not sure what to give him.

Yeah, I used Onyx and later Steelix in my first playthrough of regular Silver version. I found him to be quite useful early on, especially for the first couple gyms and then he got less useful. And then he evolved into Steelix, was strong again for awhile and then mediocre to bad the rest of the game.
In that game I used Feraligater Typhlosion Ampharos Noctowl Steelix Lugia, or Togetic
Now since you can't use most legendaries in competition because they are so hax I'll be changing that team up a bit to not include Lugia. Have gone without Onyx and Togetic so far this game, and I'm really unhappy with my Noctowl this time around, he's not as strong as my old Noctowl.
I've also been training more than 6 pokemon and rotating them in, and as a result they are a bit lower leveled than they need to be, and as a result Clair is kicking my butt really badly. Also, many of them are not evolved because I want them to learn their stronger moves earlier, and so that may be another reason that Clair keeps beating me. Current team is
Feraligater - 33 Gengar - lvl 37 Cyndaquil - 28 Mareep - lvl 37 Snorlax - lvl 30 Larvitar - lvl 29 Noctowl - lvl 33 Umbreon - lvl 31 Dratini - lvl 27 Koffing - lvl 19 Nidoran - lvl 18 Riolu - lvl 16
Not quite sure how my final team will come out, but any of them have a chance of making it, and I've got 5 Eevee eggs in my bank so as soon as I hatch them there may be more contenders.
And as a side note, my Red Gyarados came out with a 'gentle' nature. Yes, the Gyrados that had been causing so much havok is actually just a great big teddy bear and is all bark but no bite. So he's my HM slave, thing can learn Rock Smash, Strength, Waterfall and Whirlpool so at least he'll have some use.

Well here's my current team for now though the levels are a bit laughable seeing as this game takes forever to get a rematch I tend to level in the wild instead. I finally got to Morty's gym ,but haven't challenged it yet because I feel like training and berry harvesting for now.
My Team Quilava Lv 32 (My favorite and most workable starter) Graviller Lv 25 (Ultimate defense punk for now) Pidgeotto Lv 19 (Speed offensive) Togetic Lv 18 (I just think its crazy they gave Togepi Extrasensory at lv 1 when it hatched or maybe its just my luck) Scyther Lv 14(I just picked up this guy recently and haven't found a good spot to train him yet.)
In My box Sudowoodo Lv 20 Raticate Lv 20 Ditto Lv 10
Yeah thats all I have.
I am considering getting an Eevee haven't decided what evolution path for it ,but I prefer my Eevees to be lv 1 and evolved with their specail conditions because it gives you a lot of room to level in their specific form and to have the default movesets available not to mention awesome stats.
To Silver
Well that depends of your Pidgeot strategy and stat focus. The one I have is all speed crazy even if its a Pidgeotto so I'm making him offensive straight up. Though I have never been big on TM's though so I'm not sure what you could use for yours? If its defensive because of fly I'd say Roost would be perfect and maybe Steelwing and something completely unexpected. I did at one point have a Pidgeot with that moveset and it was killer seeing as that Pidgeot had awesome attack and speed were as this birdy I have now is all speed. So if possible Aerail Ace ,Mirror Move and some support attacks is my hopes for my birdy to shine.

Yea, my pideot is a speed hack too. For the moment, his moveset is Fly, Roost, Wing Attack, and Featherdance(Wing attack taking the place of pluck, which took the place of gust.) I made a mistake; I assumed wing attack was stronger than I thought it was. Not any major mistake, but I thought it would be better. Anywho, featherdance is the one I don't mind getting rid of(because lowered attack don't mean squat against the elite four...>_>) so I 've been thinking of replacing it with...pretty much anything else. Steel Wing sounds good, but not if its accuracy is less than 100. my Pidgeot has been going around with me, paying the price for missing(He usually hits the mark but I believe that every time he has missd, he ended up fainting.)
Speaking of extra teams, I've been conjuring up a second team that I'll probably work on when I unlock Kanto. When I'm done with this second team, I should have:
-Firaligator -Lugia -Umbreon -Rhydon -Raichu -Ninetails
Of that team, I only have Lugia, eevee, and a rhyhorn at the moment.
Oh, and one word of advice....when you guys get to E4 and you go up against Koga....kill his Muk in the quickest, most efficient way possible. I fought him with underleveled pokemon but I was supposed to be able to plow right through him...He killed all my pokemon with minimizing and poisoning my pokemon, and killed my stronger ones off with this powerful poison move(judging by its strength and special effects, it was probably one of those super moves with only 5 PP)

I see. Well any of yous find the berry pots awesome or sucko? I find them very convieniant because I don't have to stay in one area too long like I did in previous games with berries plus I love the idea of not having to rely on fertilizer to grow 5 berries a pot on a plant. Water is the life saver other than that my pokemon are almost lv 30 with the exception of Eevee who is still lv 5. Trying to decide which Eevee evolution to go for right now.

I see people are posting their teams so i'll put mine up: Typhlosion: 81 Ho Oh: 71 Mewtwo: 70 Lugia: 51 Articuno: 50 Suicune: 40 I has also beaten endgame trainer: Pokémon Trainer Red and his (anoying) lvl 84 Pickachu oh yeah, team involves nothing from Pal Park, or assistance from Pal Park. also, i have not got a single trade (will show trainer card to anyone who doesn't believe if necessary). i'm awaiting my first loss using my own pokémon (have lost in the battle factory, but those are rental pokémon)

Hey, anyone have any idea what bird pokemon I should use besides Pidgey or Spearow? I already have a Pidgeot on my first team, and a Fearow is ugly. I need a pokemon capable of using fly for my second team...it was hard enough giving up on a Rhydon, but I like to go wherever I want on the dot without using a PC.

Noctowl is always a good backup, espicially since it can learn a selection of dark, ghost and psychic type moves!

I go with Noctowl for that reason myself, he's usually very useful even though my Noctowl this time around came out worse than usual. I never really liked the Pidgey line, preferring Fearow even if he is ugly. I loves me the drill peck, and the Pidgey line just can't provide. @ Random Drifter: yeah I thought they really made Togepi more useful this game giving it extrasensory so early. I benched my Togepi as soon as it hatched, I played with it in the origanal Silver and wasn't impressed, I didn't really feel like giving it another try. But my friend's Togetic ripped my Gengar to pieces before I realized that it had psychic attacks... @ SS: 2/3 of your team 1 is going to be weak to electric there, you might want to consider making some changes if you care about battling other people. Your team 2 looks ok but again, most competitions ban the use of legendaries so you might have to find a replacement for Lugia if you want to play that way. Maybe you don't care, I'm just letting you know. And that goes for you too Saylen, I can't believe you're running a team of all legendaries, excluding Typhlosion. Isn't the game too easy for you that way? As far as the Elite Four, thanks for the advice about Muk. I'm through Victory Road but I haven't found a good slice of time to tackle the Elite Four, but I'll keep that in mind. My friend said that he had a hard time on Karen's Houndoom, it used some move to jack up its special attack twice and then its dark pulse one hit killed everything on his team. And the thing is fast so it will most always attack first, he said to anticipate the switch and have a strong water type ready. I've heard Lance was a too.

I remember back in the day my Typlosion owned the whole elite 4 and Lance considering in that game there was little strategy I guess, but this time it sounds like the Elite 4 and Lance are amped up since last we fought.
Well I'm going to overpower them with a team of lvl 60's. This is where my pataince pays off because since I battle in the wild all the time with my other party pokemon most are only 40 ,but my Typhlosion I used strickly in trainer battles so he's lv 60 leader right now.
I know I'm lazy on the whole swapping pokemon part for trainers and Gym leaders ,but come by the Elite 4 and Lance I'll have a team ready for ownage. Tough the one set back I'm having is to lvl my whole team to about 55 which is 5 lvls under my leader or whenever I lvl through victory road as him so the lvl cap of my pokemon will also raise higher than planned.
The Togepi you get knows extrasensory because it was bred with either a hoot hoot or a Noctowl so hense why we all have a Togepi at lvl 1 with extrasensory which does a hell amount of damage at a time. My Togepi is still in my team as its evolved form and it still owns wild.
Anyone go to Bulbepdeia for incite? I use this site to help me understand what to do for my team from time to time. I love my Extreme Speed Dratini can't wait to get it at lv 55. I haven't caught much pokemon owning only 30 species really want my Togekiss ,but all the moves it gets when evolved are all one shot powerful attacks that make my head spin ruining my toge startegy... I also would like my Golem ,but I'm waiting on that after I get Gravaler to lv 55 as well.
So my team line up includes right now.
Typhlosion: He will serve as back up and fight primarily against Will. I want him to fight Lance's last pokemon which is either the Dragonite or Charizard for an epic end for the champ. Pidgeot: I want to own Koga with this birdy so much. (Not sure if he'll work effectively even if he has high speed and hopefully mirrior move with pay off to give Koga the same treatment. Togetic: Perfect back up though it doesn't mave much attacks going for him. Kingler: This Crab can butt heads with Bruno. Dratini(Dragonite is a long lv path to achieve):(Still training her) I really want to let her lose on Lance because Dragon moves can do double damage to each other. Graveller (Golem most likely): His defense stat is going to rock against Karen or whoever her name is even against most of her dark pokemon which isn't much from what I understand. that is my master plan.
I have no real second team yet ,but my primary is going to get me through the whole story.
