Well we all knew after the remakes or Fire Red and Leaf Green came about that there would be remakes of Gold and Silver from the Game Boy Color Era. For the most part Heart gold and Soul Silver are what they are remakes of one of my most favorite adventures on that hand held system. So any thoughts other than this set of games is just a cash cow for Nintendo? Anyways not much to say because I'm thinking of getting Heart Gold. My reasons are to me its a gem to have and I have Cousins younger than me who appreciate that I am into what they are into as they are all younger than I. I'm getting old I swear.

I owned both Gold and Silver and at one point had Crystal which I lost or got stolen most likely stolen. From what I understand you guys in England may get the game a little later after us here because this month is when the games come to america with a poke walker device that you can use to train one pokemon and get bonus items. Kinda what they did with that pikachu walker device for gold and silver. You have the Pal versions correct?
Well whenever you get the game expect some tweaks seeing as they combined Crystal into the mix of those two remakes. I expect to see an expanded version of the remakes which I doubt a bit seeing as Crystal was the expansion to gold and Silver respectfully ,but at this point there is not much nintendo can do with pokemon. Also expect the games graphic engine and game system to be similar to that of Diamond, Pearl and Platinum and the Johto Dex is expanded due to the new evolutions that appeared in the 4th generation.
The one thing I thought was an improvement is the Pal Park feature. Instead of waiting like 24 hours to migrate pokemon from the GBA era of games you can pretty much slot the game in and you can migrate all the pokemon you want. Of course this is after the national dex is obtained even though they did up the Pokedex in this game.
Things I'll look forward too:
1.Kurt yes I liked the pokeballs in Gold and Silver the best ,but I'll assume they will include the ones available in the previous versions.
2.Getting 16 badges well I thought it was nice you could go to Kanto and own the gyms there and beat the old hero form Red, Blue and Yellow.
3. You can get some Legendaries whom weren't originally in Gold and Silver games.
4. The Safari Zone. In Gold and Silver it was removed. So its back now wich is going to be a plot hole to the one in are/S/E because that Safari Zone owner moved there.
Things I'm a bit disapointed about:
1. No time machine trades as far as the games concerned its trading with D/P/PL and the migrate feature replaced this old feature.

I'll be getting this. I loved my old Silver version and now that its ok to go back and re-live your childhood dream of becoming a Pokemon Master I intend to savor this game.
I'm excited that there'll be a safari zone, and that you can catch old legendaries like the bird trio and Mewtwo in this version. I understand you can get most of the generation 3 and 4 legendaries too though I don't care as much about them. And correct me if I'm wrong but I believe you can get all 493 pokemon in this version, you just have to fulfill certain requirements and Prof. Oak will upgrade your pokedex.
Side note: I want Cyndaquil and Totadile, so if anyone wants to grab the other one and breed it and swap starters let me know. I don't give a damn about the grass starter...

Yeah I used Cyndiquill and Totodile when ever I play. Chikorita is considered hard mode for gold and silver and still holds the spot for the remake as the hardest of the staters to use due to the disadvantages of most of the gyms. Now I'm not sure about the bird trio ,but from the source I've read Cerulean Cave and Mewtwo are available in this game and whatever version you have you can get either Groundon or Kyogre and whatever else there is for some legendaries. Since the games again has Crystal elements. Suicune is the story legendary along with the mascot legendary of each version and of course you can get the other later at a higher level.
According to went has been read not all pokemon will be present in the dex for some odd reason. Not like the legendaries you get in events or just some pokemon for some odd reason. i need check the info again. I haven't read in a week or two now.
Its always alright to relive your childhood through anything you know. I'm almost 20 and I still have most of my childhood with me the games or anything I loved when I was just a young runt. I just hope I can pass on some of things to my children.

I got the game and I'm going to pick Totadile, so if anyone wants to breed their Cyndaquil and send me the Cyndaquil that hatches out of an egg I'd be more than happy to breed you a Totadile in return. Shoot me a PM with your friend code, or if enough people get this we can all post codes in the thread and arrange for trades/battles.

I'll not be getting the game for a few reasons:
1- No DS. 2- Not that interested in pokemon anymore. 3- I still have Silver on my GBC. So even if I wanted to play Silver again I'd just play it on my GBC.
That being said, I think it's both nice to see Nintendo remaking the old stuff... but also kind of lazy. I mean it's great for newcomers to experience the older games. But for anyone who's played the older ones, not so much. They aren't really innovating so much as renovating. At the end of it, it's still the same story and the same basic game as Silver and Gold were years ago. Sure a few new features have been added, but does it justify spending another 60$ for it? (I couldn't.)

After introducing Arceus on DP, I don't know how they could make a new fresh Pokémon Generation, after all, they've already introduced the supposedly strongest Pokémon ever.

I got Soul Silver today. YAY. I'll take you up on that offer, though I want a Totadile in return. That's what I said a few weeks back. When I played my silver version though, I found that the internal clock didn't work and the game couldn't save anymore. This is because the clock drains the internal battery and after awhile, it and the save function stops working. It happends after 6-7 years, according to the info I found off the net.

I picked my copy of Heart Gold yesterday and began my Cyndiquill rampage up intill Azealea Town. I am a bit disappionted in the music seeing as the GBC era had an 8 bit feel about the game music since was on a monatone speaker. Well there is a part that will net you the old GBA music in that game I hear. I prefer the old battle music if anything. Oh well beggers can't be choosers. At least you still got good old Kurt and now you can make any Apricorn ball in and mass amount quantity in one day whic I though was awesome. Though I do feel off kilter that berries seem to be almost non existant in this game.

I'll take you up on that offer, though I want a Totadile in return. Good stuff. I've been a little worried because 3 of my friends have picked Totodile and 2 others Chickorita. And I picked Totodile because I thought that everyone and their mother would be picking Cyndaquil. So yeah, it'll be good to get one. I've been running with a Charmander for my fire type (bred from a friend), and I'm not too crazy about him because Charizard has a weakness to electricity and I don't need that added vulnerability when Typhlosion does the job as well or better. Now I just need to figure out my friend code and how to make the DS connect to WFC. Btw, catch me a Ditto and I'll send you one of mine. Our odds of getting eggs out of breeding jump from 20% to 50% if you use a Ditto you traded for.

Oh, whoops. I already went ahead and got them to breed. You still want both the ditto and the egg?

Actually I'm good, got myself a Cyndaquil from someone else last night. Sorry, didn't think we'd get to trade in the near future, I still need to figure out how to connect my DS to the internets.

But I was so hoping for a totadile. Its all cool. A friend of mind says he'll be getting the game *takes my words* "sometime eventually". If you ever figure it out, I'd still like that Totadile but it isn't a necessity.
