Actually, the Zero Virus existed around the end of the Classic series No, it didn't or else the virus inside Zero would have been called the Zero virus |

The virus inside of Zero WAS the Zero Virus. Zero had the Zero Virus inplanted into him when he was created, which is why he was maverick.

The virus inside of Zero WAS the Zero Virus. Zero had the Zero Virus inplanted into him when he was created, which is why he was maverick. Then explain to me how the Zero virus is only mentioned in X5, when Alia says that the Colony virus and Sigma Virus merge together to create a virus in the shape of Zero which they dub the "Zero Virus" How does this thread need to be locked? We're debating here :P |

Because none of them knew the original virus was inside Zero. Have you ever wondered why Sigma, former leader of the Maverick Hunters, became a Maverick after fighting a certain red reploid with a W in his gem?
And I agree that this needs to be locked. WE'RE GOING IN CIRCLES!

The Zero Virus is the original, pure form of the Maverick Virus, which Zero carried before Sigma was infected. In other words it isn't the Zero virus that infects Sigma, but the MAVERICK VIRUS. Now can we finally stop with this discussion on the whole virus thing? It's getting really annoying seein' a new post every 2 seconds |

That's part you fault. And it was originaly called the Zero virus, on account it was made to pump up Zero, but any Reploids exposed to it would become Maverick, since they couldn't handle it. Also, Zero was originally the killer that he was, but Sigma knocked him out and took him back to the base, and they supressed his original programming...somehow.
NOW SOMEBODY LOCK THIS DAM THREAD!!!

So it's my fault nobody else listens? Kinda got that backwards my friend.. ... Dear God.. Zero has the Maverick virus, fights sigma, maverick virus gets transferred to Sigma, it becomes the Sigma virus, the Sigma virus + eurassia exploding and what not = the Zero virus. |

.... Have you even played the games?!?! I'm doing my best not to flame right now....The reason it is called the Zero virus is because Wily made it, and put it inside, who else? ZERO. And If he woke up fine like nothing happened, then he would have killed X and every other Maverick Hunter. Also, nobody listens to you because you get the facts messed up. Oh but wait, I'm listening to you, and I'm simply disagreeing with what you say, because your opinions clash with mine.

Yes, but it looks like you haven't OK then lets call it the Wily virus instead, since Wily made it, the Zero virus originated in X5 when the Space colony virus and Sigma virus merged together, I've already said this though, and it seems like it doesn't go through to your head, now I know how a school teacher feels like when they say it goes in one ear and comes out the other So let me get this straight, if Zero wakes up fine, without going crazy again that means he would have killed X and the other hunters? Awkward No, you just think we get the facts messed up, you probably use Wikipedia as your source book |

If Zero woke up fine and like the way he was before, he would kill everybody...or at least try. They had to change his program to make him safe.
And that was a PHYSICAL EMBODIMENT of the ZERO VIRUS in X5, altered because the ZERO VIRUS infected Sigma when Sigma when he fought Zero. Only able to do that because of the Zero Viruses infection of the colony.
I beat the first three as a kid, then beat the next three just recently, when the story was actually in better detail.I haven't done 7 or 8, but I've watched a friend play.
