Anime News Network mentioned this a while back. They said it'll be premiering in spring '07, so I'd say it's getting closer and closer. Appearantly, it is related to the DMC3 manga, and will consist of 12 episodes.

Now I hope they keep the level of action pretty similar from the game to the anime, cause that would rock.

I heard that Capcom is concentrating on releasing the DMC games on Sony ports, but hey I might have heard wrong so just hope that at least one or a game with similar mechanics to DMC on 360.

You do realize the same team that worked on Death Note are also working on the DMC project and along with other animation teams.

Devil May Cry is one of the most stylish-high speed-difficult games for the ps2/ps3, and with any luck they can carry it over to the anime.
which if, you haven't played Devil May Cry 1 or 3, then you definitely should, they are awesome.

DMC2 is horrible, reason being too easy, lack of variety of weapons, and it easily gets boring, but DMC3 is the best when it comes to high speed action.
