Devil May Cry 2 was rather bland, the areas/levels all felt uninteresting, and didn't seem to have a major point that connected them (unlike DMC 1 and 3) so the levels feel disjoined leaving you feeling like "what does that area have to do with the story? ", the characters in it are barely developed and just sort of there. The major profile villain is rather forgettable, and doesn't seem all that evil.
the bosses are mostly easy, many bosses can be beaten through simple patterns like "slash 3 times, roll right, repeat" or "tap square as fast as you can / tap square as fast as you can while moving right"
The weapons were pretty much all the same, the only minor difference was the the motion of them, otherwise they all seemed to do about the same amount of damage with the same speed... The guns are pretty standard, ebony & ivory are probably the most useful for the entire game, once fully upgraded they are the only guns you'll need for the game... (you can pretty well take down majority of the bosses with ebony & ivory alone...)
generally the game seems to lack the flair, style and level of polish that Devil May Cry 1 and 3 have, also of noteable mention is this game is by far easier, Devil May Cry 3 will require alot of redoing levels if your aren't prepared for it (that means alot of time spent collecting orbs, and defintely finding the blue orbs for life, you'll need them...)

What about DMC4. I'm not sure if it's out yet.

Heh, not even close. They haven't even announced any dates for DMC4 yet.
I'm just hoping to get some dates for the anime.

Yeah, it'd be nice for them to announce a date for DMC4 but I'd go for the anime first (on account I lack a ps3 for now...)

They should move DMC4 to the wii. It would just be so much ore awesome. But we are getting quite off topic. Anyway, does anyone know the story for the anime?

yes, but that's an older topic... but we're notreally off topic in this one because it is all Devil May Cry related.
but as for moving the DMC series to the wii being more awesome? I'm actually hesitant to say that it would be better... The control style might not work so well with the nunchak and wii-mote, you'd most likely end up using the classic controller...
and even then the buttons would have to be remapped (cause the ps2/3 has more buttons) and then there is the issue of capcom and sony's agreements... plus capcom not having good luck with nintendo contracts... (most of them got ported to other systems)

But think of it, Sword fighting Wii>PS3 Guns Wii>PS3 DMC consists of sword fighting and shooting, what better console for that than the Wii?

I'd rather play DMC in third person perspective rather than first, so I can see Dante/Nero do all those cool tricks rather than seeing his hands do it. If you want a first person game on Wii with sword and guns, just play Red Steel, and besides DMC has always been on Playstation consoles(and PC), thus making DMC a game only exclusive to Sony like how Halo is only for Microsoft.

Well the Wii isn't as violent as the PS and Xbox and most things in the wii are very cartoony so I don't think it goes good with the Wii. The Xbox is full of all war and fighting games and games about sports and all things illegal.

once again I don't think DMC would be very good on the wii, it'd be way too tough to play it realistically...
DualZero and Rio make excellent points, but not only that but think about it... (even if they made it as a 3rd person on the wii) a 3rd person action game that required lightning fast reflexes being made into a game that you literally move to make the action happen... it would slow the game down considerably. And the idea of the game is to be as stylish as fast as you can, speed is the name of the game, and if it slowed down then the whole feel of the game would suffer, and that just wouldn't work.
Besides thats IF Capcom allowed DMC to go to the wii, which I still say is extremely unlikely under current conditions.

Besides thats IF Capcom allowed DMC to go to the wii, which I still say is extremely unlikely under current conditions. excellent point. WHOA. Imagine doing the million stab. youd get worn out like mad. a devil may cry anime doesnt sound all that good to me.. there isnt much character backround for any of the characters. havent all good animes had a character have an episode that explains there life or what happened in the past to make them act like this now? all we know about dante is that his father sparda sealed the demon gate a long time ago.....and thats all we need to know.... for them to make an anime. if it will only have 12 episodes its just saying to me that its going to be dante fighting demons nonstop and the bosses and ending in a match against vergil in which there will be a cliffhangar. and i dont think that they're going to send the message to me at least of how crazy the game really is. remember when dante and vergil first fought in dmc3? dante punched vergil so hard that when he blocked it the blade was through his palm. and the gun skills of when he ran down the building. theyd never do that in an anime, one reason anime cant move that fast. whenever they want them too theyre using a skill or putting a whirlwind around their body. i like the game believe me but the anime idea sounds bad. what would happen even, dante would just get challenged again wouldnt he? he was hired in 1, he settled a rivalry in 3, and i forgot 2. id only watch it if it was like 40 episodes long cuz then thered be some char development. Now if it talked about sparda that would be different. all i really know about sparda is he rebelled for the human race and sealed the demons and his power in hell. And after that theres nothing said about him. like who dantes mom was, when he made the amulets(just assuming he made them) when he gave dante force edge. How and if he died.(doesnt say and WOW.i just realized that Capcom doesnt explain anything. They dont make anything good do they, besides game play, their story staff sucks) well. i said all i could think of, i could say more, but i dont want to, too tired.

You raise a point about how animes aren't accustomed to high speed battles, but look for some of the latest ones as they are getting better at animating, and do not judge something that has not been released yet.
*Sparda never gave Dante Force Edge, because Sparda left his sword and his demonic powers in the Demon world, and be Sparda giving Dante a sword you meant Rebellion right?

Dante started with rebellion... (I can't remember if they explain how he gets it or he simply started with it) but at the end of DMC3 you see how Dante gets the Force edge, which he starts with in DMC1.
But as far as lightning fast battles in anime... They might be able to pull it off. Ad how much of a story can thye have with 12 eps? well if you've seen Chrno Crusade, that's an entire series in 26 episodes... But the difference is that DMC anime doesn't have to introduce the characters and spend time building them up because they are already pretty well known (if you've played the games you already know alot about them. Even if you haven't played the games, chances are you know who Dante is. ) So with the time they don't need to spend as character introduction/developement they can use for other story and action, so it might work out fine. (And besides who'se to say that these 12 eps don't start the whole devil may cry series off to a longer anime run? like these 12 are just the pilot season to test if the series would work and people would like it, and that if it does well, capcom would make more episodes?)
