I know this thread, is kinda dead, but I bring news that the DMC anime will air in Japanese Television in the 14th of June this year at 23:00, so if anyone lives there (which I doubt) be sure to look out for it, while I and other people will wait for a fansub

You can find the subbed eps on most torrent-sites. DarkDreams and a few other groups are working on it. Then again, DarkDreams is only good if you understand spanish. =P
EDIT- Eh, just watched the first episode. There aren't too many subbed episodes around, and the ones I found were all quite poor in terms of spelling and grammar. Regardless, the episode wasn't a terribly good start, as it opened rather slowly. Dante fighting weak, meaningless demons. That's really it. There was a plot involving an orphan girl, but it wasn't terribly interesting.
Also, Dante seems to like Strawberry Sundays. :D His fierce, childishly easy-going personality, the source of all his charm, is not present in the anime, which was a great let-down for me.

Well he is getting older and more mature, also the events of the anime is after the first DMC game, so there' nothing much to expect. I'd say give it a chance it's only the first episode. |

I was annoyed by they made him more like the DMC2 form of him... And most people who like DMC, dislike the second one...
He lacks the witty comments and humor, the action is ok, but I really can't understand the strawberry ice cream thing... Though they kept the pizza love which is atleast somewhat redeeming... (And the scene at the end where he comes out from washing his hair/having a shower looks alot like they took it right from DMC3's intro...)

I'm hoping a more skilled subbing group gets into this, or else I'll quickly lose interest. Other than that, I'm hoping they improve the plot. I understand it's only the first episode, but it was rather dull. And perhaps Dante's personality is supposed to be more brooding due to maturity, but still, the lack of witty one-liners is kinda like BLEACH without swords. Like Mortal Kombat without fatalities. Like... Well, you get the idea.
Also, the lack of a supporting cast, with the exception of the occasional employer and the random bad guys, also makes it rather boring. All the series has is stylish combat. Still, there's a lot of potential, so I'm hoping future episodes will be more enjoyable.

The stylish gameplay could be a bit difficult to capture as an anime... but thus far they seem to be able to do it.
As far as a subbing group goes I heard that Animanda is going to be doing it.
There could always be more cast... What about Trish and Lady? And that guy, Morrison could be a regular, then it could get into Dante's past a little showing him as a kid, with his mother, then show sparda, and ofcourse how and where he got his guns etc.

That would be awesome. Also, I would hope to see what Sparda actually looks like as opposed to a stupid sillouhette that's in most games. Does anyone know what he looks like?

Does anyone know what he looks like? Took me a whole ten seconds to google it. =P Anyways, according to Wikipedia, Lady and Trish will both making an appearance. It's also possible that Morisson and Patty are both more than one-time charecters. Aside from that, it seems that an english release has been confirmed. |

No dates yet, I'm afraid. There's still a chance they'll cancel, though. Unlikely, but I'm assuming that they'll release it at least on DVD.

That picture of Sparda... he is alot different than I expected. I expected a demon but... that actually scared me. I expected just a rock colored version of Dante's devil trigger mode. Instead I got that. I don't think I'll go to sleep tonight...
