Well if anyone got a copy of playstation magazine this month's issue or last month's issue. (I think it was last month's issue...) Bethseda has finally decided to give those who have the PS3 version of Fallout 3 with the down loadable content supposedly available on the playstation store if any of you have a PS3 like I do and had a copy of Fallout 3 then it is supposed to be available however there seems to be a lag on date considering the first update was supposed to be Operation Anchorsage to appear at the end of June. That didn't happen yet so I'm assuming there is some bugs with the content or perhaps some dealing rights with Microsoft I don't know.
These are the down loadable contents on list ,but no date supposedly within 4 to 6 weeks intervals when another of the Down loadable content will be available for the PS3 via the playstation Store.
Operation Anchorsage The Pitt Broken Steel Point Lookout Ship Zeta...(Don't remember the name to this.) These are all worth 10 dollars a piece.
Or you can wait till October which Bethesda will release a Game of The Year edition of Fallout 3 which included the same original game and all its downloadable content for close to 60 dollars plus tax. I know it kind of sounds dumb considering if you have the regular copy what is the point of the Game of the Year edition when you can download the content online on the Playstation Store? Well then again 10 dollars is sometimes hard to come by and not everyone had an account for the PS3. So that does make sense. Well anyways write your views and tell me what you think .

Heh, I have the game on PC so I've already played the Pitt and I'm working on the Operation Achorage expansion, and after that I'll make my way through Broken Steel. (Though my pc is the only one that can run it and my brother really wants to play Fallout 3... So I might tell him to wait til Bethesda releases the Game of the Year version for PS3.)

I'm not sure how or what changed Betheseda's mind ,but obviously it has hint to all the mail and spam they got from those who had the PS3 version ticked they couldn't get the DLC's. That is one theory the other is probably because they need money which is typical for a buisness to do I think. Or maybe something is going on behind the scenes with specific companies its unknown at this point.
To Silver well we make choices and we wish to go back on some ,but hey to be honest I honestly don't care what system I have as long as it works and lets me play my favorite game.
To Virus well you got one storng PC then because I know mine can't handle it. So how does Anchorsage play?

Most likely the reason for the announcement of the DLCs for the PS3 is that they were only timed exclusives to Microsoft... So for like a year or so they only appear on Xbox and Windows. (This same thing happened to the Ghostbusters game... In all regions except for North America, the game is only available on PS3 for a certain amount of time. Which I still find odd due to the fact that Columbia studios owns Ghostbusters and Columbia is owned by Sony... So I'd figure that the game would be a PS3 exclusive.)
Alternatively that Bethesda was having troubles coding the DLC for the PS3 so they had to take extra time to ensure it was working altogether right. (As well this way they might have fixed any glitches that were present on the 360...)
Heh, the pc that plays Fallout 3 surprisingly is a laptop... And the only computer in my house that can play it. Even my brother's Satellite L300 can't play it. (My laptop is a Toshiba Satellite M300. Core 2 duo @ 2ghz per core, 3gigs ram, ATI Radeon 3400 mobility card with 256 dedicated mb vram, 250gb hdd, and all the other typical toshiba amenities.)
As for Operation Anchorage... It's completely different from the rest of the game. You start off as an unknown soldier fighting in the war of 2076 (Or whatever year it was...) were the Chinese invaded Alaska and you're recapturing several key points. When you begin you have only 1 gun. (A silenced 9mm with limited ammo.) As you progress you acquire more guns, but they are much more akin to the FPS genre where each gun has it's own ammo limit. (Like you can only have 150ish rounds for the assault rifle you get. 20ish rounds for your sniper rifle and etc...) Ammo is also fairly scare in the levels, but there are special machines that will take your guns and give you full ammo. (Or atleast give you to the preset maximum allotment of ammo for this simulation.) Similarly for the health, you don't get any healing items but you do come across special regenerator packs at points which restore your hp to full. (And they have unlimited usage.) This means you have to utilize stealth and discression when employing your firearms. (Go in guns blazing and you'll run out of ammo and most likely get yourself killed.) This also means that VATS is your BEST friend as it gives you distinctly better aim for many enemies. (Thus allowing preservation of your precious ammo supply. Though as you get more guns, you can be a bit more reckless as you have more total ammunition. But still be somewhat cautious as you never know when you might want/need to use a certain gun and not have any ammo left with it.)
All in all, this is a pretty good mod. Though if it were longer they might be able to sell it as an independant game...

That be one impressive laptop. Sheesh I'm just happy with a PC that can play Diablo 2 Lord of Destruction and that is it along with whatever else I use my comp for. Hmm so Anchorsage is probably going take real skill verses me being used to Fallout 3's ammo is in every nook and cranny situation. Umm are you aloud take any perks or stats with you to this content? Like say I have this perk which affects this like more ammo rate or something along those lines. I know for a fact you obviously can't carry over your equipment because your in the past and the same vice versa with Anchorsage. If when the downloadable content comes out is their anything else I should know? Other than what was just said.

Your perks carry over... But there are some that don't work because of the situation of the mod. For example, the scrounger perk(the one where you find more ammo) and the find more caps perk are virtually useless because there are no caps in the simulation and your ammo is rationed out to you.
Your stats also carry over, so whatever maximum health you have when you start the DLC is what you'll retain. Though the strength stat is somewhat useless because you only get so many things anyway that you'll probably not find yourself in a situation where you have to drop something to pick up another.
Also it's worth mentioning that the items don't seem to degrade as you use them, so you don't have to worry bout your assault rifle breaking as you take down a guard. (As I said before, just watch your ammo use at first...)

...*sigh*...curse my 360 man...I could be doing that!
Months back, when I was lurking around falloutwiki, they said there was a way to keep the weapons found in the game after you leave. Are the weapons any special?

The DLC contant weapons or the original Fallout 3 Weapons? I'll guess Anchorsage weapons well according to virus they don't break due to it being slightly different from the formula of Fallout 3.Plus Anchorsage is in the past so whatever effects the weapons degrading probably isn't present because the content is in the past. I don't think you can take them back to the reguler game unless you have mods or try to glitch your game which I don't trust even if I use a PS3. The copy of Fallout 3 for the PS3 has a few problems freezing when doing certain things probably because of the Auto Save feature.
You okay Silver?

There is supposedly a method to take the anchorage items out of the simulator and into the main game... But I don't know whether or not it's actually worth it. I mean the winterized T51b power armor isn't as good as the normal Brotherhood of steel armor. And if I recall right you get the only new weapon from that DLC anyway... (The Gauss rifle.) But the winterized t51b armor you get for beating the sim is supposedly invincible. (Apparently having 10 million points for it's condition.)
So there are only a few items you'd lose and they aren't particularly good.
And Striker, did your 360 get RRoD'd or something?
Though even the PC version has had a few glitches, I've had a few crashes on it. (Mostly as a result of me probably playing too long... 8 hours straight probably isn't too good for it.)

Yeah 8 straight hours can believe it or not wear down your computer especially since your laptop probably runs on battery life or it can be connected with a plug or something, but I can imagine it overheat after a long while going through that game. I am glad the PS3 can take abuse like that. However it has to cool after for a long period of playtime ,but if I remember correctly my PS2 my very first by the why couldn't play games anymore because I would use to play it non stop pass overheat which can happen upon 5 hours and in the summer time too probably killed it in less than 4-5 years ,but managed for a little over 6 years since I got it in 2000.
So about High School it crooked. Just using that as an example really and the year is how long I had and I would think it would crook in less glad my PSX out lived it in an odd way because that system is classic for me. Sure the laptop and any sort of system had some kind of cooling system ,but sometimes those can fry terribly.
XBox 360 ouch I bet that was a pain. The method for the Xbox 360 has a glitch for that ,but its not worth what it can do to the regular game. As for PC users I thought you guys had a better ability with the mods. I knew my friend had a particular mod and was able to take some of the stuff without literally messing up the coding of the regular Fallout 3. PC version.... Ugh I bet that is pain with all the buttons you must use to play unless of course you got something that is better than the keyboard. Playing videogames on the PC with the board just kills my hands quick. Sure I may type a lot ,but that doesn't help which is why i don't have any too much games on here that involve mutiple keystrokes except maybe Diablo, Diablo 2, and the emulator versions of Legnd of Zelda a Link to the Past and Seiken Densetsu 3.

Actually I find my laptop burns hot regularly... (It idles at about 40 degrees celcius / 104 fahrenheit...) Thankfully there is protection on the cpu/motherboard that if it gets too hot then it'll shut down to save itself. But yeah, extended play can wreak havoc on them. Even with a cooling fan after a while it still might cause slowdowns and whatnot in game to try and reduce temp on the processor and let the fans cool the system down.
And I have to play Fallout while plugged in, cause if I don't then my laptop goes into powersaver mode which means all it's hardware capabilities are limited. (The processor speeds gets halfed or so.) So basically it would choke trying to run Fallout on battery power. (Sure I could change the power settings, but then I'd get maybe 30 minutes before the batteries died.)
And my first ps2 I got it for christmas of 2003. And aside from not playing a few games now (Such as God of War 1 and 2) it works fine. And I've ran that thing for hours on end... Even eft it on all night once. (It was first night we had it and we didn't have a memory card yet, and we didn't want to lose our progress in the game.)
And our PS3 we've had for over a year now without issue. (It was one of the 80GB models that has backwards compatibility.)
But as for playing Fallout 3 on a PC, it's not that bad. I mean I mapped most of the keys to easy to remember places. So the movement keys used to be: W = up A = left S = down D = right
But I changed them to the arrow keys.
are = reload (and if held you draw/holster your weapon.) E = interact with the world. T = wait V = Vats Tab = pipboy (if held toggles the flashlight) Q = auto walk forward Caps = Always run. And then the mouse is the look/aim/shoot. And if there is anything else... I forget what it is for now.

Not at all, my 360 is fine. Its just that our device that pics up wireless isn't getting our signal no matter what(and we can't find the CD to re-customize it so we're pretty much stuck in a rut.) I can pay for an Xbox version of this particular devise, but I don't want to. And the step dad won't do anything at all, the lazy bast--
but yea...I got a wii for a grad present and its too late to switch back.(I could've gotten a ps3 instead...I dunno what I was thinkin keeping the wii)
Plus its a missed chance to be able to go online with my older bro since he has a ps3 as well.

The keystokes scare me on some games because sometimes its gets too complicated if you have it memorized or not. Well as long as you have it a certain way comfortable for your hands you will do fine. Oh so something bad happened to the wireless feature so you can't even play without the wireless active? The Wii is only good to for some games and the fact they have the old library up which I find makes me happy to play old classics i lost when i was forced to give away the SNES to X cousins whom were going to my step in Canada.... Sad day... Well the PS3 I have is I think the 160 gig and its my uncles first of all because there is no way I could afford one anyways... I got lucky to play some of the new gen stuff starting with Assassin's Creed though I wassn't too much fan of it.

Oh, I can play all my games just fine. it's just that any DL content is completely off-limits for me. This is a hinderance for both Fallout and Halo(I don't care much for halo, but I really want this helmet permutation only available after a certain rank, which only goes higher through online fighting.)
