From what I heard, Fefnir's weapons count as a single unit. I can't supply proof though.

Ok so how does this tie to the characters whom supposedly dissappeared at the end of MMXCM? Saying that was a little off subject ,but neverless I find interesting to say the least. Even though I'm no sure how the weapons aplied ,but hey I thought the was good.

In other words its implied that the last three slots are for Massimo's axe, Marino's daggers, and Cinnimon's.... well I dono about her. Perhaps the FMG.
How this ties it all in is that they hold a role in the final moments of the X series, makeing it easy to assume that they were also erased in the elf wars.

Well we could assume that ,but the fact is the MMXCM's ending didn't have much mention to those 3 at all. All we saw was X, Zero and Axl make it back unscathed and we as the audience assumed either death to the other 3 or another big plot hole or something, but yeah that is cool about those missing slots never the less. Cool is all I'm going to say just end that part and back to other theories or something....

There are more plotholes in the Mega Man franchise than Saturn's moons. Albert, for one. Weil, for two. The numerous disparages between the MMZ and MMZX series. Granted, I only have a DLed copy of the RTRZ, ZX Tunes and Complete Works (in japanese, at that), but I know the games inside and out. You can't explain away everything and have a satisfying explanation for it. I'm not being mean, I'm just pointing out the obvious. No one really knows exactly how it all happened except for the developers, and maybe not even all of them. We can speculate given the data they provide, and we can come up with thousands of intricate theories. The truth is, we're dealing with a double-digit gap and at least two triple-digit gaps, not to mention the time period between ZX:A and Legends (roughly 3000 years, I believe?). That's a lot of explaining to do for a book well under a hundred pages, even if it only covers the X to Zero time period. I'm still holding out for another MMZ game, and an expansion to the X series wouldn't hurt, either.
Phew, sorry. Had to go on a rant there, I haven't been getting my daily recommended dose of Mega Man lately. ^^;

And it's that kind of thought process that plays right into Capcom's hands.
It seems to me like they're trying to leave plot-holes, because they know their fanbase will attempt to fill them in themselves. But they're not very good at it. An shoddy transition here or there I can except, but three whole characters who would be welcome additions to the mainstream series just suddenly falling off the face of the Earth?
I. Am not. Amused.
At the very least, mention in the opening cut scene of the next game that they spontaneously combusted or went their separate ways. Don't just pretend they never existed.
