I've restarted playing command mission and as I've been playing I got to the chapter where Cinnamon joins (And thus get the force metal generator.) So I've refined a Learning Aid metal from it (Using the spare item capture I got from going through the Gaudile Lab's eternal forrest path.) But I've got it equipped but it doesn't seem to be doing anything and it's description doesn't make a whole lot of sense... "5% bonus added for each EXP point earned from battle victory"
Does this mean I get 5% more exp? because if so then I don't think it's working as I did the math on this one... (After some training in the Ulfat factory...) Here is my conclusions:
I had the Learning Aid equipped on X (X needed 2053 exp to lvl26... got 1281 divided by 6 so X got 213-214. But X was left with 1852... not the 1840 he was supposed to need. )
(I got the 1281 exp from using Spider equipped with King of Hearts at full weapon energy after having used exp plus and then generator to kill a preon gunner and a preon sword.)
Anybody know what it actually does, or can shed some insight into this?

Don't you get points for the force metal generator? I forgot how the system worked. Tell me how it worked again. "You scratch my back I might scratch yours."

You get FME (Force Metal Energy) points from winning battles to use with the force metal generator along with the required recipe to make new force metals... (So ex- to make a LE +500 you need to be atleast level 15, have atleast 3000 force metal energy, and have 1 back up and 2 WE +10's) And once you meet all requirements you go into the FMG menu from the main options, scroll down to find the name of the Force Metal you want to make and then press the confirm button, then confirm again and it gets made instantly for you to use.

Then I'm pretty sure it means that you get bonus FMG points. Have you been keeping track of how many generator points you've been getting as apposed to how many you get without the thing? You probably got, like....50-100 more points than you should have.

Hmm, I hadn't been keeping track of that, I'll give a few trials and see what the results are. Though I don't think that is what the learning aid is for...

If not, then it has a stupid name. What I assume it does matches the name of it, don't ya think?

Alrighty here's the data I've uncovered... (From training/experimenting in the Ulfat factory, right at the smelting furnace part 1.)
Enemy = preon counter (The blue ones that use the counter shield move): base exp = 350 Base exp with learning aid equipped = 350 Exp with spider King of Hearts WE75+ = 700 Exp with exp plus = 385 Exp with King of Hearts WE75+ and exp plus = 735 Base FME = 70 (no Final Strikes) FME with learning aid equipped = 70 (no Final Strikes) FME w/learning aide and final strikes = 112 (+60%) Base zenny = 220 Zenny with Learning Aid equipped = 220
And just to make sure it's not coincidence with that enemy only...
2x preon gunner + preon nurse: base exp = 700 Base exp with learning aid equipped = 700 Exp with Spider's King of Hearts WE75+ = 1400 (used to finish all enemies, no Final Strikes) Exp with exp plus = 770 (used to finish all enemies, no Final Strike) Exp with King of Hearts WE75+ and exp plus = 1470 (no Final Strikes as you don't get the exp boost if you use a final strike) Base FME = 260 (no Final Strikes) FME with learning aid equipped = 260 (no Final Strikes) Base Zenny = 480 (no Final Strikes) Base Zenny with Learning aid = 480 (no Final Strikes)
So it doesn't affect the EXP you get, nor the FME or Zenny...

Oh, I know why you're confused about the learning aid. If you watch the experience meters, you will notice at the end they will suddenly jerk a little bit more forward. The learning aid applies after it calculates your individual experience, and so it will still say that you accumulated 700 regardless of having it on or not. I got confused by that as well, then I started paying attention to it. The really nice thing about the learning aid doesn't show until you have several of them equipped at once. Here's the equation for it
E(1.05)n=L
E=Experience gained for one person n=number of Learning Aids equipped to one person L=Total experience after Learning Aid is applied.
I don't know why capcom decided not to include the experience you gain from the Learning Aid in the number on the experience screen, but don't panic. You are getting the experience. Go to your status screen right before a battle and check how much experience the character has. Then right after the battle, divide up the experience you gain by as many characters you have and plug it into the equation above. You will then see how it works. By the way, coupling 2 or 3 of these with a force metal you which gives all the epxperience to one person and that you unfortunately can't make until Cinnamon is at level 35 and past chapter 6, and you will level up so fast it isn't even funny.
So, to go to your problem.
You killed an enemy with 700 experience. If you have seven characters, each character gets 100. Put that into the equation above and it will read if you apply 1 learning aid
1oo(1.05)1=105
If you had 2
100(1.05)2=110.25-->100
If you had 3
100(1.05)3=115.7625-->116
If you had 4 (maximum possible)
100(1.05)4=121.550625-->122
This may not seem like much right now, but it makes a huge difference in the end and can cut off many hours of time you spend leveling up.
There are many useful tricks to leveling up, and believe me, I know them all.

Hmmm, Interesting, so it does work. But what an annoying way to make it work... Makes it rather difficult to tell if it's actually working or not.
But even if it does work then like in the example I posted in the very first post...
And from this calculation, I did not include the Learning Aid bonus... This was just what he was supposed to get from winning the battle.

Perhaps bonus hit at your next fight start, or a bonus on evading, I dono throwing stuff out there.

This was just what he was supposed to get from winning the battle. Certain characters (couch...cough...spider...cough...cough) actually seem to take larger percentages of the total experience gained from battle (without the learning aid). The game doesn't run on a perfect world. The only way to make it divide up perfectly is to have 6 of the force metal "Monopoly" and put one on each of your characters at the time. Unfortunately, this is not available to generate with the FMG until ch. 7, and cinammon must be at level 35 (as I stated above). However, once you see what Monopoly does (nobody tell viruszero if you know), you won't want to make a perfect division.

As I said before I've aleady beaten the game once and so I already know what many of the force metals are and what they do. Monopoly included... I never used it in my previous run through... But I still know what it does.

Oh, I guess I missed that then. My mistake about the rambling on the "monopoly". I thought you said you had started CM not restarted command mission.
Well, if you come across anything else strange, post it here. I'm sure I've seen it before.

Tell me. Though I have beaten the game, I never used cinnimon's FMG that much, and thus, never messed with that many special metals(save the supra...I made Zero maverick lol)
Can you tell me what it does?

Instead of dividing the experience up among all the characters, one character gets all of it, which is extremely helpful, when it is set with 3 learning aids and 2 Get Exp+ subweopons.
