The film is going to be about 90 minutes long. Unless the demand for a second film is overwhelming based on the release of the first one, i don't see a sequel in the future.
Protoman is more embedded into the early history of Megaman so having him in the film is more fitting than Bass at the moment. In terms of keeping with the story, Bass might be too much of a stretch in the origin film of Rock/Megaman.
In the context of the film, Protoman is created, goes renegade after run away from Light's lab, and watches over Rock/ Megaman as he takes on the robot masters and Wily. We learn of his origin, his purpose, and the such. However, I didn't want to explore Protoman too much since I would leave that for future installments if they ever got made. The only reasons PM is in the first film is due to both to the fan base he has and the overall importance he serves in early Megaman history.
PLUS, seeing that I want this fan film to be my childhood dream film, I may never get a chance to work with the character of Protoman again so this film is my only chance in the event I don't do the sequels (and as off now, I don't see it happening).

This is awsome, a chance to bring in old school megaman. The good old days when it was just 8 bits a primal fury and buster on mavrick action.
I miss the good days.

... Sorry but that's not a trailer for this movie. Yes it was an inspiration for the movie but that trailer was just a college project. And it was produced years ago now, well before this movie even called for actors... (Typically movie trailers use shots from the actual movie and seeing as how this movie just had the call for actors, it'd be unlikely they had the full shoot done and any effects added just yet.)

I hope the projectile shooting looks cool. I don't want it to end up like ameture movies where the guy just aims whatever he has and special effects blast out. I wanna see some serious recoil action happening with the busters and such.

Actually I could see little to no recoil (atleast on an uncharged shot) for some very good reasons... those reasons being: 1- The buster weapons are an energy based delivery system thus recoil wouldn't be nearly as strong as a traditional projectile based weapon (such as a rifle or rocket launcher.) 2- Design features would be included to minimize any recoil from jarring the arm, especially for rapid fire shots where precision would be a necessity. 3- Robot physical (as well as structural) strength would far exceed a human's, thus recoil effects would be reduced quite drastically. Steel/titanium is far tougher than bone...

Recoil gradually will become minimal as Rock gets comfortable as MM. Personally, I don't think recoil will even be noticed with all the utter mayhem that will be on the screen. For a fan film, the action sequences and CGI will be unlike anything seen before.
T-Minus 5 days until the long shoot begins.... of course, a major update will occur on the MM film site within the next 2 weeks (IE. all cast members being revealed). In fact, if you do a google search, the signed composer on the film already added the film to his resume!

Hmm, that's a bit presumptious of him... Unless he's done all his work now, things could change and he might never actually do anything for the production. (EX- you may find a better composer before he does anything or he does work on it but he might not be quite as good as you want so you look for someone else. Among other reasons including disagreements etc....)

I've worked with him on my last feature so I know what to expect. Still one of the few composers who really gets me and what I want in a score. He is extremely talented and an all around cool guy who can definitely balance the nostalgic approach to themes from the first two games while still giving the score a grand scale and the symphonic renditions I want. I was stoked he wanted to be on board since he did so much to convince me to do the score. After his pitch, I was immediately sold that he was perfect (works out since I've been dying to work with him again ;D).
