ok.the zero series were created simply for zero, right? But in the X series,X was simply an underdog, and have you guys noticed that X2,4,5,and6 were already revolved around zero?
X1-Zero was the leader.he could practically kill anyone in one hit with the buster he friggin had.((speaking of which, how come you couldn't blow off Viles arm when YOU got the cannon?!))they only died to give X,..no.to make YOU feel special.
X2-well,.it speaks for itself...tch,goin around collecting his damn parts.
X3-yay.X time.well,sorta.you couldn't get the ultimate power until help from zero,no?(the saber, child.the saber.)
X4-Iris?!IIIIRRRIIIISSSSS!!!!!!!!
X5-watch the friggin intro!!!!jeez!he gets to be "him" again, and get the ultimate power...tch...
X6-"ohes noes...they ruined my rep. lemme come back to life outta no where, and pwn left and right with my lightning fast improved saber skills."
X7-chea...all 'bout the A-town boyee...(lol,I meant Axl.)
X8-it's a team.it's cool...
jeez.in my opinion,I should've made a special X series,or at least continue this one,and allow X to reach some depth into this "unlimited" potential. AND-NOT-FRIGGIN-DIE!!!!!!jeez...

This trend was followed in the Zero series, as it was barely - if at all - revolved around him; since this amazing green scythe-wielding reploid came and robbed the entire show... Chikachika. ><
Ahem. Yeah, I guess you have some point. But then again, fanboys and the people who buy the game always have quite the influence in the decisions of the game makers. So I believe they noticed how fond the general public became of the bishounen saber-lamer. Thus, the makers insisted to deliver something for their demands. Pity, yes.
I haven't really played more than the first three of the series, but I don't think Z had much of spotlight in the third one. I mean, sure there was the saber and all, but that was more of a secret suprise. Not really anything one 'had to' get. Shouldn't really count all that much. In the third one, they were sort of a team (as in, if you won't have Z getting hugged by the insect boss earlier, he'll kinda save the day after the final boss ><).

you should try playing X4.in most ways, that was pretty much the first megaman zero game, lol.I understand why zero gets fame, but still.(zero was supposed to be the main character in the first place.)

Well, X had a plot too, but Zero's soap opera- deep story was more popular. And also, X is a pansy. Nobosy likes the pansys.

Wait.... Capcom's retelling the games in mangas? Woah. And Zero seems like the freakin' STAR of X5. They're treating him like the star of the series. All you people lookin' for a Zero 5, just pretend the characters are the Zero series characters where possible while playing X5, and there's your Z5.

Dude. I wish I would've played the games with Axl in'em. What's the gameplay difference between him and X?

Okay, what I am about to say should answer your question. Capcom wanted Zero to be the main character, but felt it would be too different for fans of the Classic series, so just made X more mature looking, and had Zero as a support character, although he had most of the focus on him. After the X series they were able to make a series around Zero, with a new look. I would have prefered just using Zero, but I guess there has to be something good from it. I bet the reason they focus so much on Zero is because we know everything there is to know about X.

That and Zero's a badass. Where as X is just a panzy with armored panties.

Dude. I wish I would've played the games with Axl in'em. What's the gameplay difference between him and X? Dude, Like frickin everything. But only in X8. X7 sucked because X was an overpowered clone of Axl pretty much. Axl got a diferent "weapon" for every maverick you beat. And I don't mean abilities that the X series calls weapons that X get. They're actually weaspons like the ice gattling and plasma gun. Axl can hover, has rapid auto fire, alot of weapons, an armor that cuts his defence in half but doubles his offence(Proto armor anyone?) and while in his armor, he can hover in one place forever while shooting.

Barely...I beat them when they were kinda new, but I don't remember. Besides, Capcom loves plotholes. What happened to the Classic charecters? What happened to Ceil after the Zero series? WHAT HAPPEN TO AXL? Capcom has a lot to explain for, but they obvoiusly won't ever bother. They left it up to us fans to fill the plotholes....

Some information to clear a lot up.
Orginally, Capcom was NOT building MMX, But MMZ. (Not the MMZ you guys know) In MMZ you would played as Zero, and X was only a pacifst who hanged out in the lab to repair things. But then infa kuyiine tought: would people still like my game if the blue bomber is not the hero. So they changed X with Zero. But still, it cost a lot money to change the WHOLE storyline, so they keeped the orginall storyline but you plays with X.
