and reploids are also more powerful than robots usually

Well thats not all true they could easyly make a Robo just as strong as a reploid its just reploids are more advanced thats all megaman and bass were able to hold off Zero, also as time goes by don't you think robos will become stronger?

when they found out how to do that they also decided its time to give robots the ability to think freely and POOF instant reploids lol

X and Zero are both androids, they are far more advanced than mere robot masters as they both posess the capability for free will, a robot master could not simply be upgraded to an android as it would require an entire redesign of the robot into an android due to complexity ( free will is not something that can be added in with a switch of a circuit or a new part, or even a change of a program... the addition of free will would require even more processing power to handle more advanced problems of free thought such as morals.)
the problem with making robots as strong as a reploid is they blindly follow orders. once they are programmed they accept and do it without thinking. armies of robots that are that powerful would be devastating. but who is to say that a robot could be made as powerful... limitations in robot technology would make advancement extremely expensive ( robot parts are probably not compatible with reploids... so all parts would have to be custom built and custom software would have to made to make them work. )

Initially Zero possessed no free will whatsoever... we can see this when he fights Sigma for the first time, before Sigma becomes a Maverick... Debately this is Zero's true self since you know... that's how he was created... and intended to exist... etc...
Bass has defied Wily in SEVERAL games which by the way is showing signs of free will...
And oh let's see... And Protoman did ignore Light at least once or twice... also signs of free will... as well as showing signs of depression over his design flaw and the fact that he was going to die...
Am I missing anything here or misinterepting somewhere?

i think megaman bass and protoman are close to reploids cause im pretty sure they have free will also yeah your right paria.BUT zero was not fighting agaijnst his will in that flashback he was maverick back then buit then he expelled the virus from his body and sigma got infected

Maybe Megaman, Protoman, Bass, and possibly Roll are prototypes of reploids, and I think Wily was killed by Zero, by the time he released him, and he didn't have a chance to restrain the wild Zero.

Sure Bass and Protoman have defied their makers, but they are both still bound by the 3 laws of robotics (as proposed by Isaac Asimov) but inorder to have true free will they must not be bound by those rules at all as X and Zero are. (which as I say requires more processor power because they need to be able to think and analyse every situation in a few seconds, especially for situations with alot of variables- save a family or destroy a maverick type choices)
but as far as Zero, before the virus left him, he was posessed by a virus, therefore he had no free will, even if he was intended to be that way, he was still designed to have the capacity of free will.

1st of all: I think that Zero's old look was better.
2nd: What sets apart Reploids and Robots is the ability to experience emotion.

we already said reploids have emotions

I did say those 4 were prototypes, and as I recall from playing MMX1 in the beginning it had X's whole body in full screen and didn't it have a warning that he i capable of hurting humans, which is 1 reason why he was sealed, because the current time he was made, the world was not ready for his kind to exist yet, or something like that. *I played the Jap version MMX1 in the past and my memory seems dull so don't blame me for any wrong info.

Am I missing anything here or misinterepting somewhere? Well Duo showed signs of Freewill. Is there anything about him?

well it never showed duos creator so dosent that mean he has noone to listen to and the only thing he had to obey was the 3 laws of robotics?dang i feel like im in a science convention of scientists trying to understand the mystery of life

Duo was an ailen robo so I don't classafi him as anything we know of right now

1. Alright, I know the first law of robotics, but what are the other two laws?
2. I agree with VileMKII on this one. Why classify Duo when we know nothing about his design except that he is able to destroy "evil energy"?
3. We need to get this thread back on topic
