who's your favorite gurdian?

man, this topic is just about discussing about your favorite guardian in the mmz series. mine is fefnir,harpuia, and phantom.

Lets think here... The following analysis will be based on the first game alone, as its the only one where we see all the guardians in sceniroes where we can compare them fairly.

On the one hand we've got Phantom... a ninja, who by the way was the only really loyal servant of Copy X. He had stealth, speed, style and the ability to replace himself with X Drones who weren't even see able before hand. And the only one smart enough to try killing Zero from a distance, rather than get close right off the bat into Zero's Z-Saber. THe only reason he engaged Zero was because he noticed that Zero's reaction speed was fast enough to dodge his attacks from that distance, and he was attempting to delay him from disabling the bombs. The only thing he didn't do was have millions of engage Zero before hand in an attempt to weaken him beforehand. And even then, I'd say it was a smart move on his part. Neo Arcadia is low on resources, can't waste them on pointlessly engaging an enemy they have no chance against. And unlike Harpuia, he manages to kill all the Resistance Soldiers before Zero arrives.

Then we have Fefnir, who just had a big gun... and a passion to blow things up with it it... Raging power, and alot of range. Flew right into Zero inspite of the fact that that he could of probably picked him off from the helicopter he was in. Even after Zero demolished the main line of his attack on the Resistance base. Though he was trying to salvage the battle, and it can't really be blamed for not engaging Zero earlier, because he was off somewhere else and had to fly in to try and destroy him.

Harpuia was basically a male harpy, with a zealous in his defense to humanity... with a dual bladed style, flight, and respectable speed. He was trying to prevent a resistance team from capturing a cyber elf, and was down to one member when Zero showed up. Admitedly, he could of just flew over Zero and killed the poor bastard Colbor. But in the actual fight he used pretty much every advantage he could against Zero. His loyality in the first game to X seems only second to Phantom, who killed himself inorder to try and destroy Zero. No other guardian can make this claim.

Leviathan was a girl who hates being looked down upon as such... with a spear that has a guidance system... And ice dragons. She can freeze water... so why didn't she freeze the damned lake Zero was in the first time... And waits until after Zero had destroyed the main objective to engage him. What the hell? Even Fefnir is smarter than that... It's not like she could been anywhere but waiting for him.

All in all I think I'd go with the Ninja... Phantom... because he did his job well.

Why does the poll have nothing to do with the guardians?

Anyway I think Harpuia is the best. He has some of the coolest attacks, firing with his dual swords and flying. He's also the most responsible. As far as ^'s arguement about Phantom being the best sacrificing himself for X, that's not completely true. The other 3 would have sacrificed themselves too. In the final room of Z1, if copy x hadn't ordered them to leave they would have fought to the death. Their decision might have even been smarter than Phantom's because the 3 of them togather might have actually been a challange. Leviathan and Fefnir lose points in my book for their actions in Z2. In forcing the fight with Zero and not focusing on Elpizo, they delay him and are indirectly responsible for the death of X.

Not really, considering A) Leviathan was out of the water and therefore would be more of a hinderance than a help, and B) All three of them were already heavily damaged from Zero in the Room previous... as for your comment about Phantom's intelligence... it was Phantom's Forces, and not any one esles, that were actually able to get into the resistance base and do some damage, where as all the other attacks couldn't even do that. Phantom doesn't really treat each encounter with Zero as a game either, unlike Leviathan or Fefnir. Also hes the only guardian who doesn't have an elemental weakness.

You make a valid point. However I know Leviathan can fight out of water too and that they would be willing to fight to the death that time. I also agreed about Fefnir and Leviathan taking their fights as a game, I mentioned above they don't focus on what really matters. Anyway the topic is favorite guardian, not strongest or smartest so I guess its all a matter of opinion.

I never said she couldn't fight, I just said she would be a hinderance. She's far more effective in a navy battle than onland, and her abilities reflect that.
