I was wondering, which of the Generals commands Anubis? I believe it was Fefnir, but I'm not sure. Does anyone know for sure?

Heres what I want to know... when you first face Anubis hes number three, and you have to face four or five later on... what happened to one and two?

God, I wish I could remember their names... are you talking about Stagroff and Hanucraft, the ice elk and fire monkey? I don't remember when Stagroff came in, but Hanucraft you had to fight if Fefnir made it into the Base with that giant drill thing. There was also Tech Kraken from MMZ4, but he wasn't in MMZ, and he was part of Phantom's Army. EDIT: Nevermind, I totally misunderstood that post. -_- |

anubis necromancer the 3rd well either
A.) he has been killed 2 before and brought back each time ( so hes on his 3rd life ) then when he is encountered in Zero 3 he has been killed once again ( anubis the 4th was killed at end of zero 1 ) so you fight the 5th reincarnation.
B.) its a number that anubis thinks makes him sound cooler
C.) the anubis family is a series of produced units all looking alike and using similar battle tactics.
so those are my guesses, take your pick as which is your favorite, its capcom so any one of those is likely.

Well, he could also be third if you count from the original god Anubis. But I wouldn't have any idea who could be the second Anubis though. There are some stories telling that the god Anubis had a son, but I know little about egyptain gods and myths...
I just checked wikipedia and there was something about a female version of Anubis named Anput, formerly believed to be his wife. Maybe if they count this Anput entity, the Anubis from the Zero series could be the third....

my egyptian mythology is a bit rusty but if i remember correctly there was an egyptian myth that a grave robber broke into one of the pharohs tombs and was cursed by the god anubis, the robber took the likeness of anubis and became purely bent on guarding the pharohs tomb. so that could be the 2nd anubis.
then the 3rd anubis would have been formerly a normal reploid but transformed by a curse into anubis the 3rd or something like that.
