I got X8 yesterday and I recently got the Icarus and Hermes armors. I personally think Icarus is better due to the fact that all damage is cut in half, the buster rocks, and it glows red.

Don't vote for the hell of it. If you didn't play the game, don't post or vote. That's retarded.
Hermes is obviously better. Invincibility to weak enemies, Shadow Dash, Increase Charge Speed, 3-Way buster plus Weapon Charging.
Plus the X-Drive which is probably the most useful thing in the game.

Ultimate armour. Full stop. Oh, wait... That isn't an option...
Well then, I say the Icarus armour, mainly because the buster is so much more powerful that it easily takes out enemies, so I don't take as much damage to begin with.
Sure the hermes can fire in 3 directions, but they're weaker than a single super shot in front, and most enemies are within jumping height anyway, so they fall prey to the Icarus' buster.

Hermes buster has the ability to charge Maverick Weapons which the Icarus hasn't. Which beats the Icarus' 4th Charge blast, which is nothing more than a burden.

....Icarus armor can so charge maverick weapons.. Anyways, the main rwason I hate hermes armor is because of its lack of the huge buster shot. (The one that X without armor has at the final charge.)

I like the super charged beam that X fires on the Icarus charge shot... Its extremely powerful...Clears the levels of minor enemies quite fast, even works well on bosses if you time it right...

The beam is more of a burden to me.
X stops on his tracks when shooting it. I clear out enemies and bosses faster without it.

duh!you're not supposed to use it on bosses.It's for clearing out pathetic enemies.that's why the shot level before it is the ultimate shot. hermies,just sucks...I don't even know what's good about it...I don't need the running speed,invisi-dash is useless to me,as i knock out opponents before they touch me,meh,it's just a bother..but I did used to mix up the pieces though...
but still,ultimate armor pwns...lol

the hermes is better for me as I love the invis dash (ninja!) the triple shot just makes life easyer adn the small DMG dose no DMG thats just better plus the Icarus charge just leaves you open and well I prefur speed than strangh
