in the back of the box of Megaman X8 it says this.....

X is refered as MEGAMAN..... and X was Project X...... so could he be Megaman just Nicked name X?

but wasnt megaman an actual robot in their time line,... like this isnt an alternite future..... unless you mean the US version just says that...

Maybe he is megaman in a way, wasnt X built of the remains of megaman? Wasnt he supposed to be the replacment of megaman?....

X design is based on Megaman, but X is special coz he was the first robot to have the ability to disobey the law of robotics.
That robots aren't allowed to hurt humans, and Dr Cain(the one that found X in a capsule) based X's design on future robots now referred to as reploids

Remind yourselves that he is called MEGAMAN X
In X2 and X3 when X talked it said (MEGAMAN) but everyone just calls him X for short of Megaman X

As for Raikon's post later on they changed Megaman on the dialogue box to X on starting from X4, coz probably Capcom America had no idea that X is not Megaman(or Rockman).
As for jovany's post, you could say he is the father of every reploid that exists

As I stated on my previous post X design is based on future robots, which are now called reploids, and of course machines can't reproduce, wait a minute they can by making a replication of itself. What really bugs me is that are machines capable of love? Coz I don't understand how Zero fell for Iris, and how there are also different gender reploids  ? *This must mean that the ones who mass produce female reploids are just a bunch of low life perverts |

Machines can't love. But reploids are programed to be as humanlike as possible, they make their own decisions, they have their own emotions. So they can fall in love.
