Ok, all these different theories about Mega Man X's past are really confusing me. I've played and beaten X1 thru X6. I know Wily created Zero and the maverick virus, Dr. Light created X, Sigma was Dr. Cain's greatest reploid and went maverick not long after fighting Zero when the virus transferred to Sigma.
What I'm really wanting to know is are the original Mega Man and Mega Man X one and the same being/robot? Until now, I always thought the original mega man and x were completely separate in that X was just the next generation mega man who was the stronger improved version as well Light's last and final creation to help keep the peace. Also who was really created first? X or Zero? And where does Bass tie into all this? Didn't he eventually betray Wily? Guess I just really want to understand the whole transition from the classic series to the X series...
