no sigma was originaly a HUMAN as the MW started. He was a general. His name was Sigmanius. One day a Maverick killed him.Dr.Cain used Sigmanius body to make Sigma.Sigma got affected with the Zero Virus. Thus creating the Sigma Virus. He got out of control and the rest is games.I got that from a site.Dont remember which Sigma Cain has been always a REPLIROID, and not a human He got the virus when he fought Zero, it's the Zero Virus. The Sigma Virus is in reality a piece of the Zero Virus, that returns with the Eurasia incident with the Eurasia Virus + Sigma Virus = Zero/Wily's Virus Zzzzzzero, jut go play Power Battle and Power Fighters... Oh and, >_< it's long time I search for the story and script for Rockman and Forte for Super Famicom without success, ddddaaaaamnit.

Ok, Wily took MMX's plans and combined them with a variation of Bass's power source to create Zero as the ultimate fighting machine ( a REPLOID) Now, Capcom kinda cut it short from there...FlameZEro's correct about the Sigma bit though, and...X was simply meant as a keeper of the peace...WITH UBER WEAPONS Zero isn't a reploid. Reploids were made by Dr.Cain. Dr.Cain tried to make robots with X and Zero's stuff about thinking and feeling emotions and they came out Reploids. no sigma was originaly a HUMAN as the MW started. He was a general. His name was Sigmanius. One day a Maverick killed him.Dr.Cain used Sigmanius body to make Sigma.Sigma got affected with the Zero Virus. Thus creating the Sigma Virus. He got out of control and the rest is games.I got that from a site.Dont remember which About that sigma being human thing, im not sure if he was humand or not. I only know he was created by Dr.Cain and was the leader of the Irregular Hunters, when they found a reading of a Red Maverick on a factory and Sigma went to investigate, it was Zero, and the rest is history

Reploids = Repliroid = Replicate Android Thus X and Zero are not Reploids, for they were created by Wily and Light. X is the FATHER OF ALL REPLOIDS. Sigma is his son in a way too. They are all made by his schemes. Sigma Cain was MADE CREATED PRODUCED to be the leader of the Maverick/Irregular Hunters. Sigma WAS a REPLIROID but then he became a VIRUS.
Zero Wily's reason of being created? Probably to kill Megaman and company. Just go play Power Fighters and Power Battles.

X is a reploid...So is Zero...reploids are robots based off of them...They are reploids because they can think for themselves...Thats the definition! Dr. Light created X as the first reploid. Zero was another one created off of X by Dr. Wily.

My posts are invisible or being ignored? >.< Repliroid(Reploid): Replicate Android. X and Zero are Androids. Cain made the first REPLIroid by using X.
Android: An automaton that is created from biological materials and resembles a human. Replicate: To duplicate, copy, reproduce, or repeat Automaton: A self-operating machine or mechanism, especially a robot repeat Robot: A mechanical device that sometimes resembles a human and is capable of performing a variety of often complex human tasks on command or by being programmed in advance. Cyborg: A human who has certain physiological processes aided or controlled by mechanical or electronic devices.(Example: Master Chief is a Cyborg)

X and Zero have the emotions and feelings of a human person.
In megaman 7, Bass stole Dr.Light's plans for the Super Adapt (fusion) that were supposted to be for Megaman and Rush and uses for Bass and Treble (In the wily stages) but you can recover it though so you can fuse with Rush.
Never played Megaman 8 but im not sure that Dr.Wily uses the Dark Energy for Zero, Bass uses it as far as i know when you fight him.
Sigma was the Hunters leader until they found a "Red Maverick". In the battle against Zero, Sigma gives a final punch in Zero's power gem while he is "releasing" the virus, making the virus go to Sigma and his memories too. Zero doesn't remember his past or anything after that battle, but he still has fade information that is revealed to himself while dreaming.

In Megaman the Power Fighters, Wily clearly explains that Bassnium, the energy powering Bass, was an energy that he created by an accident, and that the power created for Zero was an energy that he developed after "learning from his mistake." The mistake being Bassnium.
Anywho, I have heard nothing about Sigma being human. If you read the player's manual for the original Megaman X, it has a number of small diaries written by Dr. Cain about how he found Dr. Light's lab underground and how he found Megaman X, created reploids after him (Btw, X and Zero are considered reploids by everybody in the series), and how he created Sigma and how he went Maverick.
Besides, I think Megaman X might have had the same robotic brain or something as the original Megaman.

Okay, here is the entire summery. There are three types of robots in the megaman universe.
Mechlinoids: Simple drones that preform the tasks given to them. EX. Mets
Master type: These robots were first created by Light and Wily. They were designed to think and act like humans, and were programmed with the ability to do anything they wanted to in order to complete their objectives, as long as they follow the three rules of robotics. But when Wily became evil, he took out the three rules progamming that inhibited the robots actions. That way, they would follow ANY command without question. What seperates these from Reploids is that the master types HAVE to listen to human commands. In the case of Bass, he viewed his objective as destroying Megaman, so he did whatever he wanted to in pursuit of that goal. EX. Megaman, Cutman, Roll.
Reploids: These robots were designed to be as human as possible. That meant that they were not inhibited by the Three Rules, but they were made to know them, and programmed to have positive dispostions. So the Reploids were made to think just like humans, same as if you shoved a human brain into a robotic body. Dr. Light realized the dangers this kind of robot could represent, so he set up X in a pod to have ethnical testing be done. The proccess would take thirty years.
Now here is where there is a misunderstanding about time. Many say it was another 100 years before X was awakend. But since the testing was only supposed to take 30 years, X could have been shoved in that pod anywhere from 2070 to 2100. And since the time periods are always slated as either 20XX or 21XX, we can never know. Personally, I don't think X was in that pod for 100 years, because if that's the case, you'd think someone else would have thought to make a reploid-like robot in all that time.
So yes, X and Zero are Reploids, and are also the very first reploids. Cain just gave them a name.
