I first called Bass always Bass, but now I'm used to call him Forte.

In general, most people who care about prononciation usually just call him forte, since it only has one pernounciation, and does not cause such problems as Base and Bass....  Forte's better anyway...*cough* totally unbiased.... |

Plus Forte just has a more menecing sound to it. I bet he wouldn't be portrade as an idiot in so many sprite comics if he was called Forte in America!

I much prefer the name Forte over Bass. Not sure why, but Forte seems to fit Bass more seriously.
I mean, its hard to take your enemy seriously when his name is spelled like a fish o.o;

Discussion, lazy argument, way to imprint our wills on others for brief periods of time, whatever you prefer...
Anyway, check this out. Notice Forte came into the picture during the 7th megaman game, very late in the original series. But he quickly became a fan favorite. Axl, also first appeared in the 7th game, this time of the X series. Now here are my two questions. 1) Did Capcom perposly create a new character for the 7th X game because of Bass' similar appearence, and 2) Does anyone think it was a mistake based on Axl's current popularity and the obscurity of the recent X games' plots?
