Everyone is saying you need a sound recorder and a microphone right. Now say for instance i have a voice recorder on my mp3 player is it possible to use this method instead of the old fashioned sound recorder.

You can use your mp3 player to record then if your program lets you you can export from the player to the pc. So if that's what works for you go ahead.

My guess is the recorder. Most computers come with one on them... I tried an MP3 player, and the quality isn't very good.

I think an MP3 player would be the "emergency"-tool. Unless the microphone for the computer is crap.

for sound recording, I suggest using anything but sound recorder. (it also should be considered last resort.) If you have professional sound editing software use that, otherwise get wavepad. (it's free and it's more powerful than sound recorder.)

Try reconverting it with wavepad (that is opening then exporting it as an .mp3 file). If that doesn't work i have no idea.

Ok
Its been over a month and I wanted to test the theory of which is better (sound recorder)WindowsXP,etc or a standard MP3 player.
In a flash clip i tried recording with both and reaalized that the MP3 has very low quality.I tried with the original sound recorder and made too much staticy sounds when i was talking. Last but not least while i cleaning out my computer for viruses, spam, and whatnot .I came across the WavePad that VirusZero was talking about.
Insparation hit me .............and I finally used the wavepad and saw you can choose the pitch of the volume, the quality, and the sound effects.I used it in my clips and voila it was better than any of the other two so.....The End

that's why I like wavepad. It's more powerful than sound recorder and it just as easy to use.
