tomon.webhop.net/downloads/flash-camera.flaThe above file uses an action coded object (In this case a rectangle) to act as a virtual camera in flash. Put simply, what ever is in this "box" which shell be refered to as the "viewfinder" is show enlarged to the size off the flash window when compiled. Using this you can zoom in on objects, or pan around your scene with ease. I originally found this action code on a site (I lost the address a long time ago). It was pretty badly bugged, but over a couple days I managed to work out the kinks. It is highly recomended that the box be sized 10 pixels less on all sides than the "size" of your workspace (The White area in flash). It is also recomended that you keep the viewfinder proportional, or you will distort your picture. Also, you should not skew or rotate the viewfinder, as this will have undesireable results. To use it in your flash simply copy the first frame of the layer "Camera" into your flash movie. Your should give it, it's own layer, and lock it and make it invisible when not in use. Otherwise, this saves you from having to "enlarge" everything just to get a close up. Enjoy! -Timboman2000 P.S. Though it is not finished I have an animation that you can see this in action on: tomon.webhop.net/DudeNinjas.swfThe animation is not done, as I am currently working on it. There is no sound yet, and it is rather short and pointless... It's updated frequently, so if you wanna follow it's progress, just keep checking back.

Partly. Ya see the original coding was made by the guy who made "Bitey of Brackenwood" and "Prowlies at the River". He had an ariticle about how he animated them in a webzine, and he included some action script to be used to make this camera. When I originally tryed it out, it didnt work. Thankfully I'm an amature programmer and debugged it. The debugging took about 2 hours over 2 days, and that was nearly a year ago. Due to HD formats etc, I've lost the original link, but I've been using my version of it in nearly all my animations since. Even when I dont need zoomz or pans, I add it in there just in case I find a use for it.
Most of the debugging was just to make sure a couple variables where made constant, the tough part was just finding em all. I ended up deleteing a bunch of the code and simplifying it down to about 1/10th of it's original size. It works, so I never really questioned what it was I omitted.
