can anyone tell me if its possible to make barriers in a flash movie so that if anything goes past the barrier wont apperar in the flash

Whatever is off the stage does not appear on the flash. If you want to see what's in and what's out of the stage while testing it in the flash making program, maybe make a layer on the top, and create a box that aligns with the stage settings. (Width*Length of Box=Width*Length of Stage)
