My school is in my opinion "evil" to us students. I was home with the swine flu all week (this week). So i went to the doctors yesterday and she said for me to stay home friday. So that's like 4 days straight 0_0. The worse part is that I JUST started school this year. Here is another bad part. Last year I gave the nurse the doctor note, so that it won't count on my absence. When I got my report card back, she didn't approve it! And I was thinking back now...at the "welcome to hills high school!" The NEW principal now is declining Doctor notes. Is this possible!!!! !?!?!?!?!?!?! Not done yet. Now here comes the confusing as HELL part. Appearently the doctor notes are not used at the point. They use some of them AT THE END OF THE YEAR! And why some of them!?! Sheesh...

Weird... Very weird indeed? And you say it happens in your school in your district area... Not sure as schools in other distracts are different and can follow their own protocols and codes accordingly. Though not accepting doctor notes is another story that confuses me as well because when I was in High school they never did that. Then again that was my district.

Worst part is.. The first marking period I have Drivers ed then the other 3 I have Phys Ed. The problem is..is that if you are absent for more than 6 days for First marking period sessions, you fail the class. Another horrible thing is that since the economy is horrible, we have to pay $300 for the summer school class if I have too many absences for that class or If i failed. Another horrible thing is that if I need to leave early, my other classes will be marked as a absent! THATS NOT FAIR!

Is your high school a normal highschool or is it something else completely different because hell we never had a driver's ed course in our district.

It USED to be normal, but the new principal is a "female dog"

Actually, I think the only person allowed to dismiss a doctor's note is another doctor. Since your avarage Joe can't tell if a person is sick or not (legally speaking, that is), they shouldn't be allowed to dismiss such situations.
During my time in the military we had the very same procedure, although even to a greater extent. It had to be a military doctor to grant you the note, a civilian one wouldn't do. The only exception was if you were literally in so bad shape you couldn't travel.

I would look into the laws around where you live. If it's a public school in the US, that sounds illegal; you should be excused for legitimate absences, such as illness excused by a legitimate doctor.
You did get your note from a real doctor, right?

Yes I did for four days, the other 3 were for something else. But they should excuse those four days! It's "Wayne Hills High School" and yes it is a public school
