Well with 10 on the way, a remake of Megaman battle network 1 and a birthday bash what else is there for our beloved Blue Bomber? Well from what I've heard assuming you guys already know that Keiji and Ariga are uniting for the bash which will have live internet vids on Mega's birthday. December 17 or something I could be wrong ,but check the megaman network for that info if you like. As a side note Ariga is the artist of the famous megamix manga.
Well this thread is to make up for my mistake of not noticing one of bro's threads so that seems the best aside from replying in his thread.
They say there is supposed to be other surprises aside for Megaman 10 and the remake. So what do you guys think that surprise is other than what was just and already announced?

That legends 3 is already in production and they just want to see how many fans want it. I also get the feeling that another X game is about to come out, the demand for it is super high.

Considering X8 left an open endng yeah their better be an X9. So I wonder if they put it in in retro roots as well? Seeing as how well MM9 sold.

Legends 3 or X9 would definately make me happy. I'm happy to see them putting out MM9 and 10 so quickly one after the other, makes me think they might finally tie up loose ends.

I'd love to see X9 come out, not as a downloadable game, but as a full disc one.
Maybe have a mode where you could go back and relive all the old MMX battles but be recreated in glorious 2.5D.
Or maybe they could make the game longer. Have more levels... Maybe double or triple the number of bosses. Maybe add more elements of customization? More armors for X, more weapons for Zero.
It'd be really awesome if they added a multiplayer capability. Imagine one player as X and another as Zero ripping through the levels...
And for kicks they could have loads more characters than normal. X, Zero, Axl, Massimo, Cinnamon, Marino, Alia, Palette, Layer, and maybe even Signas all as playable characters. (This would be especially useful if they decide to have multiplayer.) And some of the characters could be unlocked through certain objectives. And of couse each character would have a bunch of upgrades as well. Maybe even have some of X's old armors be unlockables too.
Though it's hard to say what they have planned... A legends 3 might be nice though. (Especially if they bundled it with legends 1 and 2 for people who missed out playing those games and hate digital distribution.)

As lovely as that'd be Virus, its not going to happen. Capcom is content to be lazy and make games where they can sprite bosses and stages in less than a week at the moment. If they make other stuff I'm guessing it'll be of the minimal effort kind.

I love Virus's excitement. I'm impressed by that most of all. ;D Well as for character's I take some people still hate Axl in some ways? I wouldn't be too surprised if they manage to keep the X series going much long seeing is we now have a reason to put more effort into that. Yeah they bundled both MML and MML2 both for PSP and now there will be digital copies of it on the Playstation Network along with Maverick Hunter X and Megaman Powered Up. So I guess those two items are stll very popular.

I don't think Capcom is actually all that lazy to be honest. I mean if you take a look at some of their other projects, you'll see that they produce high quality stuff fairly consistently. And to achieve that means they have to be working for it. (EX- Street Fighter 4, Resident Evil Series, Devil May Cry 1, 3 and 4, Phoenix Wright and sequels, Megaman ZX and ZX Advent, the Starforce series, Megaman X series, Viewtiful Joe series and more that I haven't mentioned.)
So I wouldn't call them lazy at all, and since they're selling the 8bit MM9 for like 10$ as a return to classic gaming, I think they're catering to fan's desires more than anything. How many people here have lamented the fact that modern gaming has gotten way too easy? (Especially with Nintendo's idea to bring an in-game auto help or walkthrough system...) Well with these games Capcom is answering the call of the fans, both new material as well as a return to more difficult games. And yes they don't have to spend as much to make it, so that means they can make more of them and they can produce them quicker. So over all it does seem to be a rather win-win situation.
Though they may well be using the MM9 and 10 to generate cash for a larger/other MM production. Imagine a Classic Megaman RPG... Or Command Mission 2, Legends 3, or ZX3.
I know of those as downloadable games, but I rather hate the digital distribution system. I prefer a physical copy if I'm going to pay for something. (I don't like the idea of paying for something and only getting a digital copy.) But I think you're right, it means they are still pretty popular and it does allow them to earn money off them without having to keep producing physical copies and shipping them. (They just have to keep their servers up and the bandwidth available.)

Those are possibilities though I do not understand how disappointed people got with ZXA. Then again perhaps they moved to quickly with that series in general. DMC2 was a mess... The most boring Devil May Cry game I played was 2. I am glad that they are giving us old farts things we grew up with though. Though I was born in the time of The SNES and Sega Era. I got to enjoy the original nintendo and its glory for a lot longer into the next magical era of gaming. I always liked games with something that says you must waste your life getting pasted this challenge in the game. Good times.
Update:
Well I watched the live chat thing ,but I was satified to be honest I didn't think they would focus much on anything else other than 10 and the Megamix Manga coming to America. So look only what the future holds is what we seek. Maybe will see some new things by the 25th birthday of Rockman. Drifter out.

However cool an MMX9 would be, I would rather have (and maybe I'm alon on this one) a PREQUAL game to MMX. Hate him or... well, hate him, Sigma might be fun to play as. (I have a feeling the recoil for this is going to sting) Maybe we could even have something between Zero being "tamed" and Sigma outright leaving for the "Dark side". That would have an AMAZING storyline! We would be able to see all the details of how and why. An X9 would tie up some loose ends, but a prequel game would do it better and would be just plain awesome
