Mantisk you really should give the third game a try, its much MUCH better than the first. And knowing how much you love RPG's the third game has the largest amount of customizing your characters, has maps that are much easier to navigate in, and the styles man, styles! (plus the awesome Navi Cust) You should at least give it a try, if you don't like three than I don't know any MMBN game you would like.
You also might want to try NT transmission, it's just like the classic megaman but with battlechips!

3 is very good and well built ,but 2 varies depending on taste of play.

Ya I did read somewhere that MMBN1's problem, at least compared to latter games of the series, was that it had far too frequent random battles (kinda agreed on that one :p). Level designs were kinda frustrating, too.
Well, I'll try to finish up whatever it is I've got underway right now and give 3rd one a try, since I can't find the 2nd anywhere. ><
I think I did some years ago try either 2nd or 3rd, got as far as to some bathing place. Sauna or something. Not sure. Can't remember too much of it.

That would have been three. If you do get three, I recommend getting blue version for the extra boss fight (punk) Otherwise the only difference is the giga chips (where white has the better ones) and the 2 new styles (blue = ground White =Shadow) Ground if offensive, shadow is defensive.

Blue = Shadow White = Ground
Because I have white and never got Shadow ,but I did get Ground.
Differences well believe it or not white is considered the easier version of the two making most chips readily available by being buy able. Blue makes you work harder for different chips and most chips are not as easy to find. Also most chips you obtain through battle are different coded for the most part. As for the giga chips thats purely up to your liking.
I guess I can give a bit an example of one giga chip of each. White has the useful Navi Recycle which just uses a navi used once before and blue has the mighty folderback chip which simply restocks you whole deck with the same chips used in the same battle both are useful in my opinion ,but depending on which version you get you will see what I mean when you get far enough which these two chips are you first giga chips you'll get,but have to do some work to get them.
Sorry just a small correction on my part. Please do not take it personally...
Dei Dei you sure white has the better chips because if I remember correctly blue had the better ones?

White: navi recycle, Serenade, Balance, Alpha Sigma, Bass Blue: Folderback, Dark Aura, Delta Ray, Alpha Omega, Bass + list of the better ones: Folderback, serenade, Delta Ray, Alpha Sigma, bass So in theory White has the better selection, but at all really depends on your style. As for the styles I'm almost always Shield or Cust so it makes sense I didn't recall the other two on which game there were from. (plus I kinda used a gameshark to have whatever style I wanted whenever I wanted it )
