Your top 25 favorite games of all time!

Well after watching some other person's top whatever number of games from any era of video games history. I was like why not do one on here because I am curious as to what you have as your gems in your video game library you loved ever since whenever. So to keep things simple post up your top 25 of your favorite video games from any category etc. Also include some explanation as to why its that number and any memories if you like and wish. All I ask is to be kind and respectable to wards others top 25 games. If you don't stay out of this thread if you got nothing kind to say.

Well heres my top 25 favorite games of all time

25: Legend of Mana
Not only was this my first mana game I have ever played I found this game very lovable due to it cast of very unique individuals, the art and its music. It was just awesome.

24: Dig Dug
Well this was technically the first game I have ever played and still do from time to time I whip out the program that let's me play it and see how far I can go till I lose all my extra men. The highest I got up to was level 75 and can't remember the score because it always erases the score for some odd reason.

23: Dark Cloud 2
Well a side from having all the WTF moments of the first game stuck in my head. It's successor had smoother fighting prowess and perhaps a better story. Not to mention it had a lot of unique ideas that not many games had by 2003 when this puppy came out.

22: Tekken 3
Well not as good as Street Fighter or any fighter I have played ,but it had the most memories for myself than spanning Hadoken as Ryu or Ken. I'll say that my favorite character of all time is Hwoang or Eddy. Christy from Tekken 4 can go to hell!!!

21: Crash Warped
Well this was the first PSX game I played and hold very fond memories and very painful headaches from years past.

20: The Misadventures of Tron Bonne
Very cute and torturing servebots all day in the game makes you wonder why hurt them in the first place? Isn't it bad enough they are already indestructible gun fodder you shoot, kick, throw, cut and blow them up as Megaman Trigger?

19: Diablo 2 original with expansion
First and probably last computer game I will ever enjoy intill Diablo 3 comes out and destroys WOW. No offense to any WOW players or adicts. Just saying I feel sometimes when stuck in a room full of them.

18: Dynasty Warriors 5 and XL
Well one of my favorite beat em ups especially when I have too much bottled rage. It not easy having a very long fuse you know.

17: Devil May Cry
Well a side from playing as the son of Sparda at his prime. The game introduced a whole new meaning of hurt and joy. Alastor to the face anyone?

16: Super Mario World
My first SNES game ever though I didn't get a SNES intill about 1996 about the time when Playstation came out. Luckily I was still able to find games for it still at the time.

15: Kirby Super Star
Perhaps the best Kirby game of all time and a very personnel favorite of all time. It was all bombs and physical moves for me while my sister often was 2nd player using the mirror helper.

14: Final Fantasy 7
10 was my first and you know what I still find it too overrated. Plus I get tired of it fast because of all the endless banter about it.

13: Sonic Adventure 2 battle
Though I didn't have a Dream cast, I got to play it on the Gamecube and man this was when my sister knew then and there games weren't for her. This was her ending point and when I lost a good gaming buddy other then my best friend. Sad day in deed.

12: Legend of Lagaia
My most favorite RPG of all time because it had the most unique fighting system on there. Tornado Flame! Its sequel was a bit disappointing ,but quite good to say in merit to its father.

11: Threads of Fate
Well not exactly the best game you would play for an adventure RPG, but perhaps what hooked me into it was its story and anime like humor.

10: Megaman Zero
Though 3 is my favorite. 1 had some cool things that led to a more interesting development of our Hero Zero and the thing I remember most is Phantom's tragic death and a Megaman that wasn't actually the good guy.

9: Megaman Legends 2
If it wasn't for the darn cliffhanger ending I would gladly have put this at the #1 spot. It the atmosphere of the game that gets you most as if you were actually there other then controlling Trigger of course.

8: Castlevania Symphony of the Night
Awesome gameplay, good music, rememorable characters, Weapons that define the word cheap and a kinkubus to top it all off. My first Castlevania game honestly was portrait of ruin for the DS.The second I played was Castlevania 3 for the NES and then this and so forth.

7: Legend of Zelda Oracle of Seasons with ages
My first technical Zelda Games set that came with my Gameboy Color. Really fun and my favorite of the whole series.

6: Pokemon Gold Version
Sure Red, Blue and Yellow were great ,but for me Gold was a better experience and reason why I continue to play the series on occasion or even get the games.

5: Megaman X2
Though I started at X5 I was able to go back when I still had a SNES and found X1 and X2. X3 was hard to find and by the time the anniversary collection came I was finally able to play it up. X2 had the best buster of all time and good set of armor to match.

4: The Legend of Zelda A Link to the Past
What is there to say? Find the MasterSword, Save the Maidens , Save Zelda and defeat Ganon with the best incarnation of Link yet.

3: Fallout 3
One of the few FPSs I enjoy that is an adventure if you know what I mean. Kill all Slavers!

2: Resident Evil 2
Leon's Before time and one of the few games that litterally scared the pants off my at age 8. At age 18 now not as much because of the other Resident Evils and Silent Hill. Ada Wait!

1: Megaman 3
Big surprise here I know. For a lot of people its 2 or 4 ,but for me 3 will always be my favorite out of the classic Megaman games to ever be spawned. Though I didn't get to 3 till the collection. 7 was originally my favorite. At Seattle my dream came true when I got to play it at Pax on an actual NES and beat the game at exactly clocked at 45 minutes and 60 seconds. No joke though I don't have a picture or proof of this. It will always be in my memory forever more.

#25: Megaman Battle Network 6 -- IMO, the best of the battlenetwork games. Gameplay is at it's most developed form, and I love Gregar. I just wish you could play as beast cross longer.

#24: Advanced Wars -- I don't usually like Strategy games, but I can get hooked on Advanced wars. Andy reminds me of Luffy, and Eagle is badass.

#23: Bomberman Hero -- THe most action-packed bomberman game I've ever played, and most difficult too. Also, Nitros is the most badass anti-hero/villian I've ever seen.

#22: Pikmin -- What can I say? I always wanted to control an army of ants, so my dream was fufilled. Also, the forest of hope's music is the best VG music I've ever seen. It's the first and only song that has ever lulled me to sleep(not because it's boring either.)

#21: Dragon Ball Z: Supersonic Warriors -- For a gamebopy game, this game is pretty damn well made. gameplay is pretty fun and I'm always kept on my toes. I wish pt. 2 wasn't for the DS; this is one of the best gameboy games I ever played.

#20: Star Wars battlefront 2 -- Fun shooter, and one of the few games I have where replay value is near infinite. I love the clones(I'm gonna buy their armor, dammnit!!!) and the game houses my favorite quote ever: "GET THE WOOKIE!!!"

#19: Megaman X6 -- Most complain about the difficulty. But I beat it as naked X, and what a hell of a fun challenge it was. It has the best boss dialogue, and I love going around in the overpowered Ultimate Armor. For a megaman X game, it's pretty damn close to DBZ....my kind of X game

#18: Gears of War 2 -- Carmine FTW. I love the solid gameplay of this game, and I like how sniping is easy. Everyone's heads are too big. My friends are always amazed when I get multiple headshots in a row lol.

#17: Gunstar Super Heroes -- THE most action-packed Run 'n Gun game I've ever played, and that's only because I never had chances to play any of the Contra games. If I knew how to fire superlasers, this would be higher up on the list...

#16: Ratchet and Clank-Deadlocked -- The best game I have that has infinate replay value. I don't know what it is, but I can keep coming back to this game for more, even though I have upgraded all weapons to lvl 99 on the hardest difficulties...in 1st person mode.

#15: Star Ocean 3 -- Anyone who has played this game knows that this is a " 'nuff said" moment... BEST GAMEPLAY I've ever seen. More games should be made this way; I wouldn't care if they were clones.

#14: Megaman Legends -- One of the funnest games I've played in a limited amount of time; this game lives up to its name as a legend; In that I've never had a satisfying amount of time playing it, but I've seen and heard what it was all about...

#13: Dragon Ball Z Budokai 3 -- My favorite 2 1/2-D fighting game. I owned so hard in this game....regardless of the character.

#12: Sonic Adventure 2 -- yea, back when Shadow was cool. Loved it due to dual Super forms.....even though this was the game marking Knux's downfall in usefulness....

#11: Metroid Prime 3: Corruption -- I didn't lik,e the first prime game, so this was a major step in the right direction. Incredible gameplay, sad fighting moment. (I REALLY didn't wanna kill Rhundas!!!)

#10: Halo 3 -- I regret ignoring the series due to fanboys...Halo 3 was a great game. This would've been MUCH MUCH higher on the list if the storymode was more focused on than multiplayer. I like Master Chief too. AND Johnson.

#9: Super Smash Brothers -- I think I became a diety when I was fox. He was a perfect character, aside from he easily cancellable(like always) Firefox, of course.

#8: Yoshi's Island --This was the first game I beat, I believe. I was very little, so this was like a storybook for me. I remember being so warm and fuzzy inside when I beat it lol. And then I would cry because it was such a happy ending. XD

#7: Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7 -- Hell, I'm a sucker for stories revolving around a character you know is going to die. If I was a fangirl, I think I'd be all over Zack and Bardock. lol

#6: Metal Saga -- A very comical and fun RPG where you get to ride in tanks. TANKS. what more could you ask for? This is a funnier version of Fallout.....with tanks.

#5: Fallout 3 -- very, VERY badass game. I still can't believe they pulled off mixing an RPG into an FPS, let alone believing they did it so well. Unfortunately, this doesn't seem to have infinate replay value. A HIGH AMOUNT,....but not infinite. But that's fine, it'll be years before I'll be done with the game.

#4: Kirby Superstar -- I'd say it's the best kirby game ever, but Kirby Superstar Ultra came out. lol. This is the game where Kirby has many powers, and has developed them. They all have their uses, which is pretty awesome....though I'd still keep fighter as long as I can.

#3: Super Mario RPG -- best RPG I've ever played. EVER. I love Mario, and I love this game. GENO FTW!!!! Geno whirl is the best move ever. Mario RPG is the first extensive game I played too.

#2: Megaman X2 -- Good 'ol Megaman X2. X is the most badass in this game, fromt he moment he crashed his bike into that mechaniloid at the beginning for revenge,(are.I.P. GBD) to the very end where he rand through the exploding halls of doom. Also, first X vs. Zero fight.

#1: Double Dragon II: Revenge -- This game has sentimental value, and is the game I emotionally got into the most(and that's saying alot since I always emotionally get into games.) Thinking of the memories of this game can almost make me cry. Besides, you get to beat the living crap out of an Arnold Schwarzennegar! XD

I don't think I've even played twenty five games. I'll just list great games as I think of them.
Many of these are probably going to be from only a handful of franchises, but I don't have the cash to buy every game I'm interested in.


12) Spider-Man for PlayStation - Developed by Neversoft, this was (to my knowledge) the first genuinely good 3D Spider-Man game. It was also one of my first games period. It had plenty of collectibles (Including unlockable costumes such as Scarlet Spider, Spider-Man 2099 or Captain Universe Spidey), a hilarious What If? Mode, and the best voice actor for Spider-Man I've ever heard (Rino Romano, who you might be more familiar with as Luis Sera from 4 Resident Evil or Batman in The Batman).

11) Ocarina of Time - Some say this is the best Zelda game of them all. Some say it's an overrated pile of horse feces. I'm somewhere in between. I say it's a good game, notable among Zeldas only for the fact that it brought the series to 3D. The only reason I'm listing it as one of my favorites is because of my extreme Malon fanboyism, and the fact that I don't really like Midna (Hence why Twilight Princess isn't in this spot).

10) Link to the Past - Ocarina of Time was basically Link to the Past, somewhat watered down and given more personality. Link to the past had more to do, so it goes above OoT.

9) No More Heroes - Because Desperate Struggle isn't out yet. If you're a gamer who owns a Wii, you owe it to yourself to at least try this game. Perhaps you'll become a Madness Gardener like myself, perhaps you'll be an idiot and say this game is a cheap Grand Theft Auto rip-off (A comparison with no truth to it, since the only similarities between GTA and NMH are that they're rated M and involve killing a lot of people, something you can find in almost any game nowadays.). Either way, I encourage you to try it.

8) JAK II - Take notes, developers. this is a dark and edgy difficult game done right. You've got eight bars of health, but most enemies do two bars per hit so you might as well only have four, and if you're not smart about dodging, you'll lose them fast, with no auto-healing and very few health pack drops. And there are gritty moments, but they're balanced out by with plenty of comedic relief moments courtesy of Daxter. This is grade A awesome on a disc.

7) The Megaman Anniversary Collection - Admittedly, I'm kind of cheating with this one, but the classic series Megaman games are (mostly) all good with little flaws that drag them down, so get all eight plus two good arcade games (With multi-player) for some fun times.

6) Megaman X - If you haven't played this one, you're not a Megaman fan. It's as simple as that.

5) Megaman Zero All of Them - I'd be happy in my pants if Capcom released all four as a DS collection with a level editor thrown in, but I'd settle for a ZX sequel with a plot where Aile is the protagonist, and put a level editor in there too. Noone cares about Vent, Ashe or Grey, so why not put that card space to better use?

4) 4 Resident Evil - Or as I like to call it, Japan's Tribute to Americans and How Much Greasy, European Arse They Kick. But that title's a tad too long, so I just call it Resi Evil 4.

3) Sonic 1-3 - Yeah, I shouldn't even have to tell you about the awesomeness of these games.

2) Super Mario 64 - Or this one.

1) Majora's Mask - This is the greatest Zelda game of them all. The great gameplay of Ocarina of Time, more to do, slightly improved graphics, and a world full of NPCs who do more then stand perfectly still repeating the exact same dialogue their entire bloody lives.
Also, the fact that it's got an original plot certainly helps, and it helps even more that that plot is well-written and deep.

For myself...

#25 - Megaman 3 - The game that started my gaming career. I found that even now I prefer the themes in this much more than the vaunted MM2.

#24 - Final Fantasy 7 - I liked this game more for the music than anything. Oh, and Sephiroth is one bad*** villian. I couldn't wait to fight him. Though I sorta would have liked a chance to fight him in his regular human form...

#23 - Phoenix Wright (Series) - Ok, so a bit of cheating for this one as I'm counting them all together. (I think they probably could have been bundled all as one game... Seeing as how the Phoenix Wright series was a GBA series.) Anyway, if you've ever heard of the series you'll probably picture someone pointing when someone shouts: "Objection!" (cue the music)
The games are just plain funny, and then there are all the parodies as well.

#22 - Mechwarrior 4 - Giant robots rock. Especially when you can arm one with a dozen laser cannons and 2 Particle Projection Cannons and cripple, if not kill, just about anything that moves in one shot.

#21 - Super Mario RPG - This is the only true Mario game on this list... And it's not even made by Nintendo. Rather Square made it. And they did a pretty good job. Music is good, the battle system is pretty easy to use. Overall a pretty solid game with a few clever moments.

#20 - Kirby All-stars - A collection of a bunch of Kirby games... Awesome. Especially when you get a willing friend to be the second player.

#19 - Dragonball Z Budokai 3 - I'm not a fan of fighting games, but I like this one simply because pulling off combos and special moves is somewhat easier here than in other games. Say it with me: "punch, punch, punch, punch, ki... Kamehameha!"

#18 - Dragonball Z tenkaichi 2 - Again, I dislike fighters, but #19 and this one are exceptions. I like the ability to have 5 fighters on each side for a true chaotic battle. Even more fun is when you get someone to set the teams for you... And you have no idea what you're going to end up facing.

#17 - Metroid Prime - A first person metroid game? sounded sorta odd, but I quite liked it and felt that it worked. Seeing what Samus sees is interesting. And it's just plain fun to blast stuff with missiles.

#16 - Metal Gear Solid - The original... The music, the voice acting, the stealth, the bosses... It was all pretty awesome. The whole game just blew me away from the first time I heard Snake speak to the ending moment of the game.

#15 - Final Fantasy X - The only other Final Fantasy game I've beaten aside from 7 is this one. This had an awesome level up system as well as pretty good music and voice acting. And Blitzball...

#14 - Perfect Dark - The spiritual sequel to Goldeneye. Made by Rare before their acquisition by Microsoft. I spent many hours playing this game on multiplayer. It was so much fun shredding the bots with the various guns. Especially the RCP-120 with the invisibility mode. And the laptop gun sentry mode. Or... the Farsight.

#13 - Metroid: Zero Mission - Ok, so it's a remake of the original Metroid, it doesn't change the fact that it's still a good game. And I like the remake alot better than the original. It's a bit more linear than the other metroid games, but I sort of like this.

#12 - Starcraft - About the only real time strategy game I like. Much time has gone into playing this on my LAN with my 2 brothers... (Many, many carriers have been built. Many formerly friendly bases have been levelled.) And never forget: "You must construct additional pylons."

#11 - Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow - A GBA castlevania game... Despite I'm not a huge Castlevania fan, I quite enjoyed this game. It's different in that you have weapons to equip, souls to capture then use against the other denizens of the castle and quite a few bosses to beat down.

#10 - Metal Gear Solid 4 - Despite the lengthy cutscenes, (As well as the fact I don't think the sound track on this one is as good as MGS2 or 3...) this game is awesome. So many moments of the game are just awesome. I don't want to mention any for fear of spoilers. But suffice it to say that Act 4 is by far my favourite.

#9 - Fallout 3 - Post-apocalyptic first person shooter with RPG elements... Sounds like it wouldn't work. But it does, and it works quite well. The story is pretty good, and there's DLC to extend it further. I found that it's pretty easy to get sucked into this game and end up playing for hours at a time without realizing it.

#8 - Megaman X3 - This game had alot to offer... 4 robot rides, a golden armor, Zero's saber. As well as pretty good music and classic X gameplay.

#7 - Megaman Zero 3 - Zero's 3rd venture. Also my favourite of his. Some cool character designs and difficult bosses (The rivalry begins here...). Pretty good music as well.

#6 - Super Smash Bros melee - every once in a while I fire up my gamecube just to play this game... And lay the beatdown on the cpu, my friends and family (or during gameplay, my rivals/victims.)

#5 - Ghostbusters the videogame (PS3/360) - Just released this year, this has got to be one of my favourite games ever. Slapping on the proton pack and capturing slimer just like in the first movie is quite a thrill. The online is pretty good as well.

#4 - Devil May Cry 3 - Combining the stylish action of DMC1 with new iconic weapons and Dante's usual witty attitude begins forth a twister of death. Also packs some of the most difficult game play since Contra.

#3 - Megaman X - The original, the one that got me hooked on the X series.

#2 - Sonic the hedgehog 3 and knuckles. (Ok, so I'm sorta cheating on this one and including 2 games instead of one... But they were meant to be played as 1.) The best Sonic game ever. Since this game came out, Sonic has only declined. 2D platforming with a serious case of speed, it beats anything that plumber could throw at him for the time. And then there was Supersonic... Between this and Sonic 2, these were the only games where it was done right. And the only time you got to feel like you were really in control of a chaos enhanced hedgehog.

#1 - Megaman X4 - One of the best games ever. The introduction of the ultimate armor. Play as Zero through the whole game. Great music. Voice acting was... less than the rest, but that's ok. Everything else made up for the poor voice acting. If only they would redo X4 in X8 style with the X8 voice actors.


Honourable mention goes to:
Chrono trigger, Final Fantasy 6, Star Ocean 3, Megaman X2, Megaman 2, Megaman X command mission, Sonic the hedgehog 2, Final Fantasy Tactics (Original/Advance), Metal Gear Solid 2 and 3, Devil May Cry 1 and 4, God of War 1 and 2, Dragon Quest 8 and the F-Zero series.

Another plus to Kirby All-Stars is that when you have a helper, you share health items by making out. Hilarity Ensues.

If they do remake X4, then I demand some proper development for the Repliforce. I also demand Zero's X7 voice actor return (He actually sounded like the detached tough guy Zero should sound like) and the fight with General be less awful when playing as Zero (The only way I could ever beat it is to hug a top corner of the wall and take a bunch of slashes whenever his head is close enough.).
