So earlier today, I was sitting in my chair, surfing the web as usual. Suddenly, I felt a little stiff, and I knew what would cure that: I nice big stretch. So I leaned back into my chair, then all of a sudden everything started going dark. My whole body felt numb and I fell out of my chair into the ground. It only lasted for a 'lil second, but when I came to, I had this splitting headache at the back of my head, but only for a second. Then I felt normal again.
Can anyone explain that? Has this happened to anyone? As anyone ever had a black out in general...?
Random side note: When I went out of 7-11 today, and got in the car, I saw this old guy walk out of the store, and then he started fiercly grabbing his chest and rubbing it...XD
Sorry, just stating a random WTF moment I saw...lol

Only once, but I'd had surgery earlier that day and I think that's why.
Also, the old man might have been going into a heart attack, those are some of the early signs.

Hmm, maybe you suffered mild heat exhaustion?
Had you taken any alcohol or drugs recently? Undergone a surgery? Suffered any prior blows to the head? Had a bout of depression or other mental illness?
It might never happen again, possibly being a very rare one time thing where the conditions were just right for it to happen.
Though if it happens again you may want to seek medical attention. The results could be devastating if it happens while driving, working or operating any heavy machinery.

A black out you say? Well I only get those after surgery of some sort. For you it was probably a once and a life time thing. If it happens again I'd seriously get that checked out.

couldnt help but see this thread and respond. I've experienced something like that a few times when i feel stiff and do a quick stretch. But ive never fallen down or blacked out because of it. I think it has something to do with blood circulation speed. when youre stiff your blood circulates slower, then you suddenly stretch and it speeds up. At least thats what i heard. Whenever i experience this i just get dizzy and numb for a second or two. but ive never passed out because of it.

For better or worse, I wasn't on any drugs(nor do I take any), no alcohol, I was in fact complaining about the air conditioning freezing my arse off, and I never had surgery. And I don't suffer from clinical depression. So no, Dr. VZ, None of those issues apply I think JT's explenation was what happened. I know what you mean with the dizziness and whatnot after stretching. That was my first inclination........but that man was only rubbing his nipples. Both of them! ; If that's where the pain from a heart ache comes, then I excuse myself for laughing. But I'm convinced that the man thought he was in his own euphoria. XD

Meh, I practically fainted once without a reason. Was just walking around in the house by mself, collapsed to the floor, sight went blurry. I recall thinking of trying to crawl to the phone and call for help, but, well, that was back in the days when cellphones weren't all over the place, and the damn house phone was hanging from the wall, so I couldn't reach it. :p
I'll tell you wether I survived the incident or not later on.
Anyway, I don't know if I did the right choice not paying attention to the thing later on. It was several years ago, and hasn't happened again since. No clue what caused it, but ain't too bothered by it, either. I say do the same. Could've just been thirst or whatever. :p
