Yeah you can't really do much with just X in that game considering he lacks and air dash, takes too much damage and whatever else makes him somewhat useless hense why we can assume X6 was a mess to some I guess because X became pretty much severely downgraded to armor pretty much. Zero does fine though...

Give X the Ultimate Armor and he's unstoppable.
In fact, I think X6 was designed to encourage people to use the Ultimate Armor code. Nova Strike is the only way I can get across the pit in Metal Shark Player's stage to get the Dr. Light capsule.
Dr. Light, you are an arsehole. In the first game you made us kill ourselves five times just to get the Fireball, in X2 you put us through Hell and molested us ("Come Inside Me For a Special Surprise!") before you gave us the Shoryuken, in X5 you made us snag all eight of those atom things in Squid Adler's stage...

Zero does fine though... This is what I don't understand. It was the exact opposite for me. X was great in X6, and Zero kinda went wierd. His attacks were overall better but upon comboing after being hit, his hit invincible frames were reduced. I'd die in ten seconds of Blaze Heatnix's stage while I can get through the stage fine and dandy with X. (Excellent ranking with Blade Armor...but then that helps the armor arguement, something I agree with.) |

I think he was talking about regular X, without armor.
And for me, Zero and his giga attack are the only way (Aside from Nova Striking everything in sight with the Ultimate Armor, but that goes without saying.) for me to get through Blaze Heatnix's stage thanks to those stupid minibosses.

The ultimate armor is simple and pawns ,but I was able to do all the secrets without the darn thing... The Blade Armor plus the speedster or hyperdash parts or both will grant your great results for the Shadow Armor Upgrades. That is how I was able to have an X only file without Zero and I have maxed them both to the higest rank possible before as well on the playstation...
Zero I guess you can say the reason I won with him a lot is because I combo the crap out of everything. So why are people voting for the Absolute sheesh... I'll admit the hardest thing on there was me trying it on extreme mode or High Max VS Zero....
