What in your opinion is the best feature of the current generation of gaming. Is it the all wireless controllers? Built in harddrives or removeable external media slots? Wireless internet access? High(er) definition graphics? More powerful hardware than previous generations (so that games can be bigger and better)? or something else I haven't mentioned?

None of it.
Although I have two of three next-gen systems, I use none of which I can easily talk about, and if I do use some features, they're obviously not good enough for me to compliment. I'd say the wireless controllers are good, but then....I miss swinging the controllers around while waiting for something to load, so no.
Oh yea. Graphics. They're great, but if I still can't tell wtf I'm looking at while in a corner on Halo, they're not great. I have to turn around twice to see what I'm doing and which directiion I'm pointing in at least twice to see where I am. When in a corner.(but then, I suck so that's apparently a close opinion of mine to share.)
And then the built-in hardrives. I don't even have any idea what I benefit from it.

Internal hard drives means that your saves are stored locally, no buying memory cards to transfer saves around. And couple that with the SD card slots, you can just load the saves onto them if you need to transfer saves. (Or possibly usb jumpdrives, though I've not tried transferring saves in either form on the PS3 or 360 to verify it. So I dunno if you can that easily, but I'm pretty sure you can on the PS3 because you can slot in jumpdrives and load things from them, so you should be able to back things up the same way... and it offers a backup feature... So the theory is sound, but I haven't tested it.)
Also, maybe this is a PS3 feature only, but the games install to the hard drive and thusly decrease loading screen lengths. (Though I thought the 360 could do this as well...)
Also you can store other media on the hard drive if you want. Music, movies, pictures etc... A whole entertainment centre at the touch of a button.
Also, downloadable content... you can download addons, updates, new features and parts for games. Though I question this, but thats another topic.

Ah, regarding the music....are CD's the only way to transfer? If then, I gotta get to burning. Fast. which is another question: Can the systems handle custom CD's...?
and to stay on topic. I guess the hardrive function is the best. I never realised my save-files until just now.

The one thing I find most interesting is being able to play with people on the net which I think is bigger improvement from last gen netware system games. The controllers are a bit more sensitive or they sometimes lag a little which is the one thing I notice.

I'd have to say the ability to download new/classic games right to your console. It's because of that that I could play Megaman 2 II (I'm talking about Megaman 9 for those who didn't get the joke), the original three Sonic games and Ocarina of Time.

The 360 can install the games on the hard-drive but unlike the PS3, none of the games are required to do so.
Best feature of the CURRENT generation, eh? I'd have to say DLC and game updates that fix bugs and glitches.

Best feature?
GIANT ENEMY CRAB!!
Seriously it's the built in hard drives. And the 360 doesn't have wireless internet without the thingy... that must be bought.

I don't actually have much love for the DLC... I think that some of it is just gouging the consumer for content that should have been in the game in the first place. (Only games which have DLC that I can see needing it are the Rockband/Guitar Hero series. Because they have so many songs that aren't included on the disc. But my problem with that is it seems like you pay through the nose for each song... I heard somewhere it was 6$ for 3 songs... Which is quite expensive when you consider if you just buy the rockband/guitar hero disc you get considerably more songs for 60$, between 70-80 depending on the game you guy, but if you just download them, at 6$ for 3, you only get 30 songs...)
Bug fixes I like though because it means that an otherwise shoddily done game might have the proper fixes so that it becomes a decent and playable game. As long as they're free it's good. (I mean I bought the game already, I should get the fixes for it for free. It's kinda the least they can do is ensure the game works properly... Otherwise I won't be keeping the game and possibly not buy more games from them in the future...)
Hmm, the 360 doesn't have the wireless network connectivity built in? Odd, I would figure it did... I mean the current versions of the PS3 does. I know the Rev needs the adapter for wi-fi, but I would have thought the 360 would have wireless built in.
One of the things I like about a new system, especially one that's company has been around for a few generations is the backwards compatibility... Right now only the Rev has any real backwards compatibility. (Virtual console doesn't count because that's entirely a software emulation and no actual physical medium from past generations being used. Like you can't take an NES cartridge and play it in your Rev.) Which is a shame really because if your going to sell a new system, you'll obviously want to push that it's backwards compatible as an incentive for people to upgrade. So they don't lose the ability to play all their old games when they upgrade, as well that they can play all the newest greatest games.
The 360's software emulation sometimes doesn't work and is for a rather limited number of titles from what I understand of it.
The PS3's newest consoles are only backwards compatible with some original PS1 titles... Omitting the PS2 stuff. (Though some of the previous PS3 consoles had software emulation and were pretty much compatible with most PS2 games... Of the 64 PS2 games we, as in me and my brothers, own... only about 1-2 games didn't work properly.)

360 has some backwards compatibility and they keep increasing the list slowly (Also, they have full Xbox games available to download on Live.)
Only the old PS3s have backwards compatibility (And like the Xbox, not that perfect). They're discouraging PS1 backwards compatibility too because they're selling games on PSN.
Wii has the backwards compatibility with the GC.
Microsoft decided to not have WiFi on the 360 to greatly improve the online gaming performance and decrease lag. (Forcing people to use cable, which is obviously better.) But they released an adapter for people that really have no choice.

Hmm, why would Sony sell PS1 games on the PSN if they were trying to discourage backwards compatibility... Seems more like they're encouraging it to me. As for online, the cable may be preferrable due to increased stability, but wi-fi is more convenient and is oft cheaper and easier to set up. (Especially if you have multiple devices that would need cable run to them...) And its not like any real speed is gained or lost by using wireless, because the wireless G router is rated at 54mbps and the internet connection itself is only rated at 10mbps. Even a wireless B router rated at 11mbps should still sufficiently be able to convey the net speed of 10 mbps... (Though I know if I had to set up a wired connection for my brother's PS3, I'd need to run atleast a 50 ft cable through the house to do it, as well as drilling holes through the walls and whatnot to make it work. And even then, seeing as how I have the wireless set up for my computer already it seems kind of stupid to run the wire when wireless already is set up. Especially if the system comes out of the box supporting it.) So all microsoft is doing is cashing in on the people by not including the wi-fi, thus making you buy the adapter or run the cable. And from looking it up... buying the cable is typically going to be cheaper... est 30$ for the cabling, compared to 100$ for the wifi...

In my opinion, the fact that theres a free bluray player, free online and an Optional HBMI port on all consoles with Games made with large storage capacity and placed on Bluray disc which can hold it...
oh wait, well atleast all hardware reliable... i mean um... maybe all consoles have the great exclusives games... uhm... yeah?

Im Sorry For the the double post, but that was THE Most 360 Fanboy post I have seen you post... seriously... I know your a 360 fanboy but dang, that is the dumbest thing you could say about 360 not having built in wi-fi... the reason is they want all your money in exchange for products that should have been included in the system. and by the way, I think all PS3s have PS1 backward compatibility, so I think they are still encouraging it. PS2 backwards compatibility was removed to make it cheaper for the people who where complaining about the price. So excuse me while I not play PS2 games on my PS3, oh wait, my PS3 HAS backward compatibility enjoy paying for online, and having ads shoved into your face... ps: remember when you wer talking smack about the PS3 Installs? Now the 360 has some, and all of a sudden its a good thing? lulz your logic=fail... but then again I could be wrong and you could be right, Its all microsoft's word and I seriously could care less what they say about the 360

I'm not a 360 fanboy, I just dislike the PS3. The online service isn't expensive at all, you waste more money playing WoW or any other MMORPG, plus as I said tons of times before, I prefer paying a small quantity to get QUALITY service. And I have no idea what you mean by "ads shoved in my face."
You should think twice before throwing those remarks. FORCED installs are bad (40-50% PS3 games) Installing fully by choice is good (360, the rest of the PS3.)
PS1 backwards compatibility? That just makes it worse, I just insert my PS1 CDs on my PC and then I can play the games flawlessly on my PSP, which is portable.
IF I want backwards compatibility, I want it for the PS2, because the failure rate of a PS2 is much larger than a PS1. The main reason being that the PS2's lenses are extremely weak unlike the PS3's. (PS3's lens + PS2 console = Perfect.)
Back on topic. Go back to the ConsoleWar thread or PM me if you want to reply about this.

Back on topic. Go back to the ConsoleWar thread or PM me if you want to reply about this. Okay Fine, then I Dislike the 360 cuz of the fact its overpriced add-ons, Pay to play online, and its Failue rate (& all those Bald headed space marines games, less then Decent RPG/JRPG), and the wii is a toy you plug into the tv and play with hardly any mediocre game... I is totully notz a PS Triple Fan Boy... I just happen to own one, and think its the best By the way, in a PM Tell why you deislike the PS3, and dont give me anything that Involves 360 Better than PS3, Just the PS3 as its own System By the way to answer the question, I like the fact that the Current Gen systems all Allow you to Play online from the getgo with no need to purchase an add on or activate the Online.* (Does not include 360, Since you have to buy a Wifi conection if you only have wireless, and you still have to activate it by buying a subsription, I'll admit the 360's online playing capabiliies are alot easier to use but not That Much better then the PS3[lulz @ wii friend codes] ;D)
