It seems like there might already be an mmz5 in the process according to some threads, but My friend and I were pissed at the announcement from capcom saying they wouldn't be making a new mmz game, So we set our minds upon making a homebrew PS2 game Called either Megaman Zero: Final Crisis, or Megaman Zero 5: Final Crisis. But we're leaning toward the first one, because we don't want people thinking this is the only one we are making. I am going to get the most input from the mmz fanbase as possible and put it into the game. PLEEEEEEAAAASSSSEEE REPLY!!!!!!

.....homebrew...?
Wow. And how would you go about doing this...?
For the PS2...?
You have the equipment to transfer data to the computer and the PS2, despite whatever filetypes files on the PS2 might be....?
Do you even know how to use an edit button properly...?
Erm, nevermind that last one. Are you really gonna do this? Innocent before proven guilty, so I'm not gonna go right off the bat and assume your disability to do this. There are some amazingly intelligent people out there. My point is that many people say they'll do crap, but never produce any results. You sure ya gonna do this...?

I know you can get PS2 Game Development Kits off the internet, but likely that would involve significant use of coding skills, graphic design, knowledge of the hardware and it's limitations to actually build a game and sucessfully run it.
And judging by your English grammar, coding will be certainly a cause of problems. (I'm not sure what language the PS2 uses or even exactly what the dev kit contains, so maybe you can do it... But I'd say that likely this could be VERY difficult for you and your friend to do. ) But please, unless you have something in the works and ready to show, don't bother announcing it yet, as you see what kind of response you get: "Yeah, right." Mostly skeptical remarks/comments. (This isn't to discourage you, but merely to let you know that many have said they would do stuff but never produced anything... So we're all pretty skeptical about when people announce they doing something like this.)
So then, get an intro level/bench test done, then let us see screen captures of it running, and THEN ask us for our input. (By bench test, I mean something substantial enough to show that you're serious and committed to the idea and are actually going to finish it. Examples would be: An introduction for the game, an ingame cutscene, the game running as if someone was playing it. Even just a beta with no real refinements yet would be enough, just as long as it's complete enough to run. This means no showing static menus or credits. I want to see stuff that would represent the experience of playing this game. )
I should mention that I am intrigued by the idea, but I want to see your capabilities/commitment first.

I can't say it;s dumb idea, but due to MMZ ending, and it being claimed done I would have to discurage a MMZ5 unless you based it off a new crew of people in the resestence/Neo arcadia. Though I would love to see what your useing to make this, I've had a MM SSB game in my mind for a long time.

I know many people have left hopefuls hanging and not finished what they started, but I will try to make something that people are satisfied with. Yes I realize my English grammar on computer is less than satisfactory, and I will be taking gamedev this year in school. But please chill, I am just an obsessed fan with a little bit of knowledge and a lot of ambition. so if you like it when you see it tell me

But you're also here with the lack of knowledge of an edit button. Be careful.
So tell me about the storyline.

First off, second warning... Read the rules. This is your second double post issue. (Use the edit button ok? It exists for a reason.)
Your taking game development? Is this a highschool course or something from a true and dedicate game development college? (I ask because a highschool level simply will likely not be sufficient to adequately prepare you to develop full sized PS2 based games.)
And ambition and obsession won't amount to anything without alot more than just a little skill. Game development is hard, there is alot to it. If you intend to persue this, then know that it takes teams of people a long time to make games.
And it sill doesn't change the fact that until you produce some tests/screen captures/video etc... We're not going to be convinced... It's just empty words on a page without any proof to back them up. If you serious, then at the very least produce some concept art... (Either drawn well or digitally done. Just something to show us that you have the skill and drive to do it.)
Cause for me, it's like this: I typically won't join anything unless I know for sure that the drive to finish it is there... And simply saying "I'll finish it" is not at all sufficient.
But now should you [you]provide adequate proof[/you], I'll be more than happy to help you guys. I'm a pretty good writer and so I could help pen the script for the game.

If you're going to do this, you're going to need patience more than anything else, as you do with flash animation. If you're too hasty, you'll miss some critical piece of information, and then discover you have to find some minute little mistake that's making life very obnoxious, and then it can screw up a whole bunch of other things you did, and you'll be like..."Crap, why is it not working right?"

I think you guys are all way too negative, if this guy wants to try his hand at making his own game, good luck. It is true that patience is required, but such a feat is not impossible. As to the story line, its not like this game is going to be published, he can do this however he wants. You could always say its a branch off, like all those other series where they make books and stuff after the series is done giving more insight into what was happening behind the scenes.
My point: best of luck, if you finish this game, tell me about it on my site: <URL REMOVED> everyone else, check out the site if you like mmo's
VZ says: Second warning... No advertising, now go read the rules.

I might take a hit for posting in an old thread, but hey: What you're saying is what we're saying-- that we didn't doubt him, but just giving a heads up on what he'd have to go through and whatnot.
Plus this was like...last year since he even posted that.

Despite how I doubt that you'd be able to pull it off, I wish you luck upon your quest. but in a better issue, ave you thought of game play design? story plot? twists and turns through out the game, surprise characters and whatnot? how prepared are you?

Zaverexus and Flash, the creator of this thread that you are directing your questions to has not logged on since he wrote I'm sorry if I strike you stupid, but as I said I'm just ambitious and obsessed He's not going to answer your questions and unless someone cares to track him down and ask him how this game is progressing, its safe to say he realized he had no clue what he was doing and scrapped the project. 3 2 1 *locked*
