The story follows Hayate, a poor kid with idiotic parents who get into major debt half the time. Hayate winds up trying to kidnap a rich girl to pay off a debt his parents have left him, but the way he words it makes it sound like he's confessing love. Through a series of events, he becomes the girl's Butler. The girl is named Nagi.
