Wow, a new JAK game's coming out. I didn't really think it'd happen. Or should I say, I didn't really WANT it to happen. I can't afford a PS3, and even if Naughty Dog goes the way of Capcom, Square, and so amny other companies and makes the new game multi-platform for the 360, I can't afford one of those either. Slim chance it'll go on the Wii.
And beyond the platform issue, there doesn't really NEED to be another JAK game. JAK 3's ending never really left any big loose ends. All the bad guys were defeated and/or humiliated, the thing Daxter had been complaining about so often had been fixed, and Jak more or less had resolved his issues.
The two games that came after it were pretty much cash-ins. Daxter took the plot all the way back to the two years Jak was in prison, and JAK X was just a racing game.
So, as much as I loved the first (or as I shall hencforth refer to them, ONLY) three main JAK games and the racing game that followed, I'm just going to ignore all future Jak games. It's a load of my wallet, and ensures I can't be dissapointed.

IT WILL NEVAR GO MULTIPLATFORM!!! 2nd off, c'mon A PS3 is one of the best investments you can buy, because you know it will last the whole 10 years... and it has BLURAY! Unless your still Using VHS, you need to upgrade nao! Its the way of the future! 3rd off PS3 has t3h best gaems EVAR!!!! So Its a good Investemnt!!! its only like $399 rite nao, for the cheapest one... and besides DUDE I NEED ANPTHER jak game!!! If Ratchet Keeps Getting Sequels up the @$$ than so should Jak Games!! Jak Games are thee most fun platformer games I have ever played!!! And Jak Games ALWAYS find a way to tie in the story lines toghether to make them make sense... and JAK X and DAXTER WERE AWSUMERZZZ!!!

I played Jak, as well as Jak2... And to be honest Jak was pretty bad.
The controls, I thought, were pretty bad, Jak slid all over everywhere. (Just by touching the control stick lightly and it was like he was on a skating rink...) Even in the second one, it was better but still not completely great. I never tried Jak3 as of yet.
And just so you can't say I didn't play far enough into it... In Jak2 I was at least 10 hours into it... (I'd beaten the construction area after getting the hoverboard thing... ) I did only play a few levels in Jak1 but since I felt the controls were that bad, I knew I wasn't going to be sticking with it for long anyway.
And again, personal opinions should be stated, otherwise all claims should be backed up. You can't claim it has the best games unless you've played every game ever made, (Tha'd be baring your own biases and whatnot) and since I highly doubt you have, you can't make that claim. You can only say "In my opinion ...."
399... for the cheap one, but if you were gonna buy one, just spend the extra hundred and get the full featured 80gb version, much better value for what you get.
As for the ratchet comparison... Ratchet, I only started playing on number 3, so I dunno what the first 2 are like, but if they're similar to 3, and handle roughly the same, then they're well above the quality of Jak, and thusly deserved their sequels.

Unless Naughty Dog is directly owned by Sony and was specifically ordered to keep the new game a PS3 exclusive, then nothing says it COULDN'T go multi-platform. I can't afford a PS3, and Blu-Ray is pointless. DVDs still work fine, and I find way more DVDs on the shelves of electronics stores then Blu-Rays. That best games ever thing is just your opinion, and as I peviously mentioned, I can't afford one. The most money I have is twenty five cents right now. Yeah, I need a job. As far as the balance thing, last I checked, Naughty Dog had sold Rachet and Clank off to Insomniac, so Naughty Dog isn't obligated to make the number of JAK games on current generation consoles match the number of Rachet games out in the current generation. And also, JAK games aren't really the best platformers ever. The Precurser Legacy, I'd sooner play Super Mario 64 if I wanted an experience of "Collect roughly a hundred powerful objects to help out a friend" plot, and Zelda: Ocarina of Time for the experience of "3D game featuring a blonde mute aided by a help character who's not always very helpful" experience. But JAK II is one of my favorite games for the PS2. And JAK 3 is pretty much an expansion pak of JAK II, as a good sequel should be. and I never said Daxter and/or JAK X weren't good games. I just said they were cash-ins. Daxter was made to please the fantards who wanted Daxter to fly solo, and JAK X was basically an edgier version of Mario Kart to get racing game fans into the JAK series. But I never said they were bad. Being a cash-in is a mere comment on the reason for the game's creation, not on it's quality. As I said, I genuinely enjoyed JAK X (even though I never figured out how to get online with it. >.> . But I never tried Daxter, because I don't own a PSP. I did look up a few YouTube videos about it though, and from what I've seen, I doubt I'd enjoy it. And as an aside, could you PLEASE use proper english? As in saying "Now" instead of "Nao", "Ever" and "Never" instead of "Evar" and "Nevar", and so on. It's in the rules, you know. "Try to use proper english".

Can I say in the game's defense that you might have sucked? Because Just like most sonic defenders out there, I've never had any problem with character movement. Perhaps to be more fluid was key, I dunno. But anything about sliding is something I never noticed. And I beat both of 'em. I'd like to see another, but only if it focuses on the Kid that was,...brought back to his own time? I never got that part. Basically, Jak is the dark version while the kid was the normal light version. I'd like to see what he does when he grows up. Aside from his dark powers, I'm about done with the first Jak. I don't care that I didn't have enough patience to beat his third game... On a side note: Yes, the ratchet games are awesome. They only get better and better though, so if you played the third, there might not be much need to play the two before unless you really desire to get the little inside jokes often displayed in the later games and whatnot...

In My Opinion, Jak Games have better controls, better gameplay, and better storyline than every ratchet game... I mean I have Played every ratchet game, and each one I play, i have a Greater desire for another Jak Game due to the fact Ratchet Games feel more like Cash ins as every sequel comes up... I would seriously go as far as IN MY OPINION Jak Games>Metal Gear Solid Games
Also, JAK Games have the most simple yet effective controlers!!! jesus christ, I mastered the controls when i was like 9yrs old!!! They were just TOO Perfect...

Yeah, I never noticed a slidy thing in Jak & Daxter's controls either.
And Stryker, that kid who was brought back to his own time was Jak as a little kid.(Which explains how the rift rider Keira built is the same one that was found in the 100 Precursor Orb ending of Jak & Daxter, which points out the big ol' temporal headache.) So if they made games that focused on him, it'd basically be showing us Jak's backstory. Like how he met Daxter, who Keira's mother was (Unless she was adopted), etcetera. While it would answer a few questions I have about the Jak series before the first game, it would also return to the kiddy feel of the first game aswell, and I don't really like that idea.
It's most blatantly revealed in JAK 3 when [SPOILERS!]Damas is killed and asks Jak to find his son, Mar. He tells him that he'll know him when he sees him because he'll be wearing an amulet of the seal of Mar around his neck, and then Jak remembers that that's what the kid was wearing, and he says "... Father?".[SPOILERS OVER NOW!!]
And also, in JAK 3 you can use Precursor Orbs to buy model viewers under the secrets menu of all three games, and in JAK II's model viewer, it labels the kid as "Young Jak".

So,....Young Jak is going to go through the same crap as the first? If not, then that's what I want to see. Him, staying in his own time being a hero and all that whatnotness. I never saw the alternate ending.....
I might have to beat the game again and find all the little eggies...Or go to youtube.

Dude, saying Jak is better than Metal Gear Solid is like comparing Grand Theft Auto and Gran Turismo. They're a different genre altogether, you can't just compare them as they are!
Anyways, I'm not saying they're bad games, as a matter of fact I played the first three ones and enjoyed them immensly. However, saying that they're better than the revolutionary creations of Kojima (read: Storm's personal God) is bollocks. Sure, they were better than average platformers with more plot twists than their competitors, but goddammit that's all they had going for them.
Err, haha, I seem to have given a little bit too much control for my inner fanboy there. Moving on, I am still looking forwards to the next Jak-game, just not as much as the next MGS (in my dreams).

I find them a whole lot funner... I even Found JAK X to be a blast, as well as Daxter as the best PSP game at its time...
