I must admit that MMX5 was probably the worst game in the MMX series. The 3D graphics blended horribly with the rest of the hand-drawn graphics, Zero's techniques were essentially the same from MMX4 with interchanged elements (Air Dash with ice element, rising slash w/ thunder being changed from fire, etc.), and the fact that I finished it in a day and a half on account of it being waaaaaayyy too easy the FIRST time around sums up my reasons for disliking the game.
However, upon replaying it on MMX Collection, I realized the game had certain storytelling elements that completely blew me away! In the scenario in which Zero becomes a maverick once more and Alia is having a tough time determining what's wrong with Zero, X comes out with a lesson from the Red Hunter himself, explaining that there are some things which cannot be analyzed, but must be felt, and that X felt that Zero was "evil."
First off, WHOA! In a period of time DOMINATED by technology, a statement of that caliber was completely unexpected. Machines "feeling" contradicts every robot stereotype we've been forked with as a geek community. That in itself made me respect MMX5 in a whole new way.
Secondly... well there isn't a secondly. I just wanted to make that point XD

I've known that X and Zero could sense the presence of sigma as well as the evil in each other for a while now, and I wouldn't be surprised if others knew as well. I'm assuming you recently got X collection. is that the only one you've beaten?
Oh yea, and I guess we have our own tastes. Unlike others, I actually like almost everything about X5 as well as 6 and all of the others excluding 7.

Not entirely, I had the original version of X5 for playstation but it had been years since I played it and I had forgotten that little speech. Besides, I probably couldn't appreciate X's speech at the time... so yeah, I suppose you could consider this playing my first in a certain sense.
But 'feeling evil' is by far one of the greatest quotes from any videogame I've played due to the context in which it was spoken. X6 ruled! lol

X 6 ruled? You do remember the level design from that game, right? You doremember the poor dialouge from that game, right? If you ask me, X6 was the worst of the X series. X5 was really good though.

Level design, what, was it too hard for you or something? I can't reply to the dialogue part, as I never played the original version. But if the level schematics difficulty bothered you then,....well, I don't even know what to say to that. Did it hinder your ability to beat the game or something?

If I used the code to give X the Ultimate armor, then no, I breezed through the game easily. Though I still can't get past the second fortress stage. The fortress stage I'm on is designed with so many spiked the only way I can get through it is using the Shadow Armor with the Ultimate Buster part (Which is rediculously overpowered in every aspect except for places where you need to air dash), I get past the two eye ball things, and then I get past High Max easily, and then in the second half, the point where and air-dash is need just makes it impossible for me to proceed. Try playing through the game again without using any codes and you'll see what I mean. As for the dialouge... Just go here and read the screen shot in between the tips on beating Gate and Sigma's first form. I think that about sums it up.

Uh, I never used the codes until twice after I beat the game. I'll replay the game sometime to see what you're talking about. You've gotten the jumper part, right?...
And I'm sure I never used codes until after a while because I found the codes when I went to check on the net if anything special happends after rescuing all the peeps.

Same I loved X6 that I did X5 but, it was X5 were things got interesting a side from misspellings and grammer through the translation into English X5 was a real good piece and I found it great that Zero could converse with the Light holograms which X never really did unless you count the remake for the PSP.

Lol, point accepted Miguel. Sigma deserves the "FlameZeroBoard's Award of Outstanding Retardation."
I had heard from somewhere that X5 was the last MMX game Keiji Inafune helped produce before he moved on (I think MMZ). Had he included the same level of sophistication in the rest of the X games, the series would have been a much better than it already was.
On X6 though, I really enjoyed the difficulty of the game (try playing it on Xtreme mode, enemies do NOT drop any lifeups). It was ridiculous at some points at the difficulty of the levels was absurd (the path to Dynamo in Metal Sharkplayer's stage is a prime example), but looking at it from the developers' perspective, sometimes making the levels themselves ridiculously dificult, yet still manageable for a skilled player is just about the only way to make a game harder without swarming enemies around the player.

...oh right, they did that too...
Meh, I was able to beat it on Xtreme so it IS possible to beat. Still, X6 was among my favorites.

Well if you really like a challenge, then what you want is X6. Unless you've memorised all the stages and the placements of all the enemies, you're in for one of the biggest challenges on a Sony console. But the real question is: is it really challenging, or really frustrating?
For me, it's an excercise in restraint NOT to put my controller through the screen everytime I go through those rising lava sections of Blaze Heatnix's stage without Zero's giga attack or the trash compactor section of Metal Shark Player's stage.
And Uia, I'm no just now noticing Sigma's n00b grammer. I was just mentioning it as a point for the game's dialouge.
Though had Keiji not made the stupid decision to not put out the original X Collection, which would've had improved versions of the games, meaning X6 would've had english voice acting and better grammer, just to keep it from overshadowing the unnessecary PSP remake of MMX, then I would've considered X6 a "meh" game. Nothing to hate but the excessive challenge, nothing to really make it stand out as a classic.

X6 is the worst MMX game in my opinion. (And most MMX fans as well)
Specially due to:
The worst part is the very unoriginal and crappy stage design compared to the other MMX games, and the stages never looked so bland.
The story was horrible compared to the other games as well.
Bosses and music aren't that great compared to the other games. There are only 1 or 2 memorable songs.
The saber was useless with X. It's very slow and not worth it compared to a Buster shot. The only way it can be used decently is in the air without the crappy delay.

The only Thing I had to say about MMX was the armors For X and they were actually pretty good, like walking on spikes? thats original... That ninja armor too to bad you need to use cheats to get the Giga armor
