I've heard alot about this and alot of people say it's awesome. I played it. And now I have one question, what the hell makes this game so special? Seriously, I played it, beat it, and put it away. End of story. Not only this but the whole time I had to convince myself to play it cuz I disliked it so much. What is it the makes this game so good?

Well people have diffrent tastes
You played Prime im guessing? A lot of ppl like the exploration element combined with the battles ( I know you could name ten other games like this or more).
Im not good with explanations so someone else should take over. But i personally like the series (both 2d and 3d games)

Honestly, you soudn like a Halo fan (no offense). What could be more fun?
In a sense, if you've played Halo first, which is vastly inferior in my opinion (you don't have to agree), then I'm not surprised you don't like the game.
For me, I got into it because it had a sort of "Goldeneye 007" (my favorite 1st-person shooter of all time) feel, although not completely that way.
There are things I've noticed between the two that to me make a world of difference.
1. In Metroid Prime, if you blow it, you blow it and you start over at the last save point. In Halo, you can blow it and you start at the last checkpoint, which really decreases the difficulty of it. Now you may be thinking "What's the difference between and Checkpoint and a Save Point"? Well, that's pretty simple. A checkpoint allows you to continue play as if you never died and with full health. The savepoints in Metroid Prime automatically refill your health as one of it's aspects, but you always have to manage to survive and get to the next one which is (I might ad) significantly more difficult than getting to the next checkpoint in Halo.
2. Metroid Prime is spent figuring stuff out while in Halo, all you do is shoot. So, it's puzzle element will either scare away or attract players. Also, you can spend days looking for answers and it can be frustrating. Believe me, but it's well worth it.
3. This is the least important, but compare the graphics of Metroid Prime and Halo side by side. There is a bit of difference, and even hard core Halo fans have admitted on TV that Metroid Prime's graphics are better.
Just my thoughts, that's all.

I think it's just that I don't like the battles. If there were some really intense ones that required rapid, quick-on-your-feet thought, then I would be playing this game alot. I just don't like the almost boring battles. Yes, the bosses are fun....sometimes. But not all are. Don't get me wrong, I love MP2. That game is more fun than MP1. But I still don't like the series much. I just want more intense firefights. If they added that into MP3, I'd be a metroid fan quite quickly.

Well, until Metroid Prime, you only did use your gun to fight bosses. It wasn't necessary to use your missiles or anything to take out the bosses, even though they were helpful.
By the way, have you played the games on hard mode? The bosses will be glad to tick you off there, particularly the Omega Space Pirate from MP1. Even some of the sub-bosses will give you a run on both games.
If you play through on hard mode and it's still too easy for you, I don't know what to say to you.

I didn't know that it was humanly possible to hate Metroid Prime....

I didn't know that it was humanly possible to hate Metroid Prime.... One of my HS classmates told me he didn't care for it. He played it (and supposedly on hard mode) and beat it, but he thought Halo was better, so he sold it. It is funny though that a lot of people who hate Metroid Prime like Samus. Back on topic... P.Blayde, have you ever played against somebody in Metroid Prime 2? As simple as the multi-player is, if you get somebody who is really good at the game, you could have quite the challenge. Believe me, my little brother is difficult to beat, and I'm pretty good at it. I don't think I've beaten him in a deathmatch since we first got the game. Also, if you play enough, you'll find unique ways to kill your opponents, which also depends on the stage. Like I said, play the hard mode if you haven't already. By the way, have you collected 100% of the items and performed 100% of the scans?

I loved Meteriod Prime, beating it gave me a feeling of accomplishment that few video games nowadays can bring. I think the mix of puzzles and battles was good, though I can see some who are newer to the series getting bored, Samus has too much time alone, they'd need some cutscenes or dialogue or an specific objective that wasn't always there. But I loved the game, thought it was great. Prime 2 on the other hand I disliked, mostly because of the light and dark ammo system. Missiles should have a finate ammount of shots, your beams should not. So I'm happy that in Prime 3 the beams will not only have unlimited ammo but they'll stack! Like in the old Meteriod games, you'll shoot and it'll be the wave and plasma beam coming out. I'm going to enjoy that.

Surprisingly, yes. And that is where I got addicted recently. I played MP2 with someone good and I loved it. It's actually a lot funner in multiplayer in my opinion.

I do agree with you about the light and dark ammo system. That's part of what adds the difficulty to the game though. You and I both know how unfair that would be if the annihilator beam was unlimited. Yeah, the plasma beam was unlimited in the first one, but you couldn't fire that like a trigger-happy maniac like the annihilator beam. By the way, even if you run out of ammo, you're not out. You just have to charge the beam in order to make it work. I've played the second one so much the ammo system doesn't even bother me anymore, except when I'm fighting emporer ing on hard mode and going all out with the annihilator beam. However, even then, the game keeps you well equipped by his constantly releasing enemies to shoot at. P. Blayde... I thought that would change your mind about the game.

And just in case you needed a third opinion... I love the series. the graphics are awesome and the whole fps "you see what Samus sees" thing turned out to be a great idea. The only thing I didn't like is that sometimes when you jump you can't always see where the edge is so you jump to early. Have you played it for the DS? The demo wasn't as good because the beam had ammo and the missiles just used 5 ammo for every missile, but the actual Hunters was genius.

I'd not heard of that aspect of hunters before. I've been told a lot about the game, but I don't have a DS so I can't really explore that game Oh well, I'll get to one day.
