i imagine the story will basically be, adults tell kids "don't go near that place" kids ignore the parents and stumble onto the bad guy, he catches the kids and just as they are about to be executed the live metal reveal themselves and bind to the kids making them into super warriors who break free and now have to head off after the bad guy, mean while a character in the red armor is seen lurking around, and what is his connection?, no one quite knows.
as for the characters i imagine Van will be alot like Netto/Lan while Eile will be more like Roll/Meiru ( i apologise if the names are spelled incorrectly )

I have a few theories on the plot. If it is related to the original timeline, I'm predicting it's years after Zero, centuries even. The two protagonists are part of some group, most likely an organization whose's origins were from the Resistance in Megaman Zero who now study new material known as Live Metal.
(If it is connected to the original series, my theory on it's being is probably that they were Cyber-Elves who were put in a maintainted state and possibly buried as remnants in the past for the people of the future. Like how modern day people bury time capsules but the maintained Cyber-Elves storing the events that have gone by, from when they were buried, to from when they were found.)
The two teens, Vent and Alie stumble across a strange ruin while the organization begins looking for Live-Metal. They wonder off for adventure and to escape the boring expedition as they were promised excitement and fun for volunteering in for such expeditions. While looking around, they find a strange piece of Live-Metal. They take a sharp glance at the Live Metal and then screams are heard outside. The two begin to exit the ruin and I guess whoever you choose decides to stay around for a while and begin touching the Live Metal. As they exit the ruin, they encounter a monster who attacks the other members of the expedition who are actually working. The Live-Metal begins to kick in and transforms one or both of them into the Model X.
The character who bears a striking resemblance to Zero and has the Model Z, is possibly intertwined within all of this as he is looking for Live-Metal that may or may not be a lead in discovering of the one who's armor he is wearing, or atleast something or someone he's seen from the Live-Metal that allowed him to attain the Model Z. He probably comes across the two protagonists and then possibly fights over for their Live-Metal.
That's my theory of the introduction, the Live-Metal, and the character who's known as "Z" by a few fans.
I've also theorized that the protagonists aren't even human. Maybe something close to a perfect Reploid-Human hybrid, allowing them to attain such states with the Live-Metal.

Or, they are three more X form guys, each having a superlarge robot which can morph into something like optimus prime, then they have some EVIL aliens, brewing a new enemy each new episode, they defeat the monster, then it becomes big, and then they take the huge robot, kill it. An the whole thing goes over again the next episode...
Hehe, sorry about that... Couldn't resist it. ^_^'
But seriously, I really think it will be a standard plot. -_-

It should be a standard plot. They'll probably invent some new villian who will try to take over the world. I doubt it'll be too complicated.

Maybe the new guy will be named Dr. Willie. Oh man I can hear the fanboys now... Hm. That almost made me chuckle. It is true in each series their is a "New" main Doctor. Like....Dr.Wily, Dr.Cain, Dr.Wiel, Dr.Willy-(For Megaman BN). Oh well let the new series begin.

Ya but players are done with them. People really like them, lets face it all the guardians are cool but they've been beaten so many times now I can't see them being the main villians. Unless they get their own series, I don't think we'll see the guardians in another game.

I do have my theory on this one: The local lore talks about the two key players in this war, X and Zero, who battled in epic fights. X, the known one of Neo Arcadia, was destroyed by a reploid in red, known as Zero. Many still relate this fact as half-true since it was a copy of the original X, but many still believe that Zero actually killed X. Later on, Neo Arcadia was ruled with an iron fist by Dr. Weil who used humans as working slave of his world domination plans. The people who succesfully fled Neo Arcadia went to the crashed Satelite Eurasia who still harbored sufficient conditions for the humans to survive. Weil tried to stop this by creating a satelite with enough firepower to destroy an entire city, like Neo Arcadia. But his plan backfired at him when one of his top guns did a suprise turn-coat on him and fired the satelite laser at the city. Many died during that accident but survivors were saved by the resistance. Weil was tought dead at that moment. Nevertheless, Weil could trans himself into Ragnarok (The Satelite) just in time to save his shell and fused with the core to manipulate the laser with much more ease... But Zero showed up and destroyed the satelite while it was falling into atmosphere. The outcome of the battle was made, the satelite was destroyed but Zero was never to be found again... Or did we think... 10 years after the Ragnarok incident, the former Neo Arcadians and the Reploids finally settled down and rebuilt a new civilisation out of the ashes made from the war between the Resistance and Neo Arcadia. The people in general are at rest. Intensive research made by Dr. Ciel in the Neo Arcadia ruins and the southern desert led four persons, Vent and Alie in Neo Arcadia, Silve and the other girl in the southern desert, to a most incredible discovery, the live-metal. One source was found in the center of the ruins of Neo Arcadia, where a huge orb with "Drk lf" was to be found and another where a the sand covered pieces of an old satelite. From there, the adventure begins

I made it up, but since the official story is out, mine is bust... I inspired myself from the elements from the Zero serie and added the ZX twist to it...
