I like to watch both versions to see what was cut out and what was censored and make my comparisons so yeah. As for on topic subjects I've never seen the movie only the series and read bits of the manga...

Word is they're possibly going to be making a second season of FMA... They had crew lists for FMA2, and even though it was fake, the company that would be making FMA2 never denied they would be making FMA2. So I'm thinking it's quite possible they might be starting production soon as they get the real team together.
