You definatly have to add people who can kill violators freely. oh and PvP, cause I have played games without it, and it got old fast. I'll be one of those guys who kill violators, if you don't mind. I certainly hope this works out for the best.

ok... But you guys are blabbering about banning people and killing violators (What are those). But din't you guys mind the game isn't busy yet? First, we need some USEFULL guys. after we got a team we need to learn to work with GameMaker. AFter that we need to create MUCH sprites, backgrounds and more, more and even more. I like every help.

Violators are those who don't follow your rules, those who deserve to have their charecter DESTROYED!!!! It's fine if it isn't busy, its barely started. Keep at it, and I'm sure it will kick azz. Sadly, I'm no good at flash (as far as I know, haven't got the programs yet.) so I cannot help you.

maverickzero, for violators ill explain in dutch what it is for a moment Violators, ze overtreden regels (bijvoorbeeld de hele tijd newbies vermoorden of winkel-merchants van lage level chips vernietigen)
Netto, can you create anything for a MMORPG with that? since i dont know that much about it, but i thought PHP and Java was for websites......
PvP, i already thought out a system for that You got something like cyber squares, in the very beginning there are only 3 or 4 big ones used, as capital for a side (Neutral, then 2 or 3 sided cities) and when youre in a guild, you can capture a square (requirements vary depending on size of the square) and when you control the square, you can build for example shops where players can put in their chips and set how much money you need to buy them (adding another dimension to gain chips and more opportunities to gain money) or for example towers that give bonuses to something on some range (for example, only in (enter your side) zones, or only 3 zones from the square) or buildings (workshops where you can create new chips found from deleted viruses, or a HQ that allows you to have private conversations, what about a training zone where you can spawn viruses you decide or a safe-PvP arena where you can test out new fighting strategies without even lose money/chips/whatever) but there is always a control tower you need to defend (it got for example 1k/quality level hp, and a defensive+offensive guard which deal also damage depending on the QL of the tower, and to upgrade you need that much money..) against guilds from opposing sides (neutrals count also as a side here) which can attack your tower (by first winning x PvP battles against your guild, then a party of 1 to 3 people can fight the tower which first will release 5 virus battles, with the viruses depending on the QL of the tower)
Basically, it would be a very dynamic game..... IF we can get the game that far...

PHP is for websites, Java can be used both for websites and programs. I would not be able to make an advanced game with graphics with my current knowledge of Java. Still at the base programming. (input/output)

if you got any ideas, always mention them (put them in word or notebook and attach it here, anything is fine as long as we can open it with standard programs (adobe doesnt count) And no, it is no storyline but it is about the PvP section. a storyline will have to be made, but remember that it is a MMORPG thus a real storyline will be difficult to implement, and it will be mainly about the game itself an idea, however. We could have tournaments in the game itself, set times to start, only a level-range (lvl 100-110 for example) and maybe also some limitations (for example, only profession x, or no ranged chips) and what about custom tiles? (the preliminaries for example, all basic tiles. then the pre-quarterfinals, 8 times a 4-person battle in 2v2 on a sandy field, than then 4 left-over teams play the quarterfinals, this time on varying fields, like grass stage or metal stage, to get 2 teams winning, in that case we got the semifinals of 2 times a 1v1 on a field with the middle 2 rows being holes, and finally a 1v1 of winners on a normal field) The prize of winning is then depending on the level-range, lets say a lvl 1 would win 20k, while a level 300 would win somewhere around 100m. We might also include items as prize instead of money, or what about a special level-up? (for example, winning a lvl 300-only tournament makes you lvl 301 which only benefit from a special giga-chip alike (you need to have played the MMBN 3+ series to know what i mean) that is limited to lvl 301 only. However, it is a chip very hard to get (worth soo much in that case, that when you find it as a lvl 10 you would have a wealthy life until lvl 100 at least ) Basically, there are just a shitload of ideas in my mind, which come up occasionally..... im sure to put them in WHEN we design the game, but now..... and Netto, okay. Dont worry, im sure we will have a few years before it is finished, you got at least a few months time to learn more

Hmmm...I wonder how the larger feilds would fare...Anyway a PvP system sounds awesome. I seriously hope any changes to armor or accesories show in both battle and walking around. That way, it wont look like the same million sprites in one area.

Lol. You can use cutstom sprites! I've thinked some rules of custom sprites users.
Rule1: NO Porn sprites Rule2: No custom PD sprites. Rule3: It is not a must, but I prefer it if you don't use Rips. Rule4:(One of the most important ones) DO NEVER, NEVER steal any sprites and use them as your own.
You need a E-mail adres to register. If you use a porn sprite, and you got 2 acounts, the porn acount will be deleted and the strength of the legal sprite will be decreased AND you will not able to create any new sprites. If you use a PD sprite, (I mean custom PD). You will get a normal navi instead. If you use a Rip, Nothing special happens but I do prefer cutsom sprites more then Rips. If you steal any sprites, ALL your acounts will be deleted, you can't create any new acounts anymore.

You need to finish an engine to even be able to get anything to work. If you were to make custom sprites possible, you would have to think of how to distribute the sprites among the players without causing all the players to lag massivly or ping out. Get the main engine and systems working before adding more features.

I am sure that you dont know how the system works If we would do a non-custom sprites only (so there are likely around hunderds with the same base sprite) it would have been possible. However, since you can create yourself a sprite, and use it to play the game, we cant make fitting armor pieces at all, because the shape of all sprites would be too different to have a fitting one. And dont forget, it might not be even a good idea because then it "gimps" your character look.... maverickzero, what do you mean with PD? not everyone knows the short names of something, for that you need to read loads of the forums where there is talked about. I understand that it is some kind of sprites, but..... what? =\
