along with that infection idea how about the typical max level and having to choose the best parts for the best situation, plus being able to swap out parts during battle, and if you exceed max level risk side effects like draining health, decreased damage output, decreased defense and the higher over the level the worse the effects.
and why not have the boss give large rare things and have normal enemies give some smaller more common ones, you know and have a trade system using these.

You mean with the DNA thing? I'm thinking I'll keep those to the bosses, and turn it into some kind of virus. But what would the virus' purpose be? I know Pyre said something about it being a control program for the creators, but I didn't quite understand what he was saying... Anyway, I thought of how Xirk's abilitys will be unlocked. Throughout the game, someone will actually be hacking into his systems. Why this person is unlocking Xirk's weapons and anything else they might be doing is a mystery, even to me at this point. All I know is that this game is in for one hell of a twist before the story's over.

yeah its a high ranking government official who inorder to promote the government sabotages several robots then making it almost fluke like leaves one robot left to pick up the mess, but unbeknownst to that robot the official is guiding the robot to an ultimate showdown with a robotics company that has interfered with government plans and soon Xirk realises whats going on the tables turn and the 3 laws are removed by the company, Xirk then sets his sights on the high level official who has been manipulating both sides the entire time. but as for the virus it is injected so the official can unlock Xirk's abilities and the more virus Xirk has the better abilites. or something like that.
there that plot twisty enough?

Meh, I've seen twistyer. XD Anyway, That gives me some ideas, but I'll have to fit it around the basic story frame I already have. But I still say the virus should play a bigger part than a way to upgrade Xirk.

well could it also give the official more influence over Xirk? ( like going from an open based game to a more mission based one at the end? )
but still how are you planning to make this game?

If you ever plan to make a sequel, have the virus-infection introduced in the first game and then the plot focusing on the infection in the sequel so you won't have the whole storyline into a huge mesh. My two cents on it though.

Nice idea Pyre. And I haven't decided whether to use save points, saving anywhere, or automatic saving. And for your question Virus, I won't actually make the game. I'm not even 18 yet, so the best I can do is submit my ideas to a developer and hope they pick it up. I'm hoping for Capcom or Level5. Another thing is that this isn't the game I'm focusing on right now. What I posted initially was all I had. The game I've been focusing on is one I call Prophecy. I have that game alot more developed. I'll post what I have for it once everyone gets tired of Neo Era.

Rockman Neo WAS game. There was a demo out there somewhere in the wide world of the Internet; I found it. The program was called 'Neotech.exe', and featured playability using the mouse (to aim and fire the buster), dashing ability, running, jumping, wall climbing/sliding, all of that good stuff.
It was in sprite form; yes, someone made RMN sprites. They cheated and ripped the backgrounds from somewhere and used Mettaurs as enemies, but it was at the very least something good.
Too bad I deleted it...I don't remember where I found it, or if I'll ever find it again. -_-;;

Hey, I got a question...any rules about rediculously long posts? I haven't seen one but...just in case...
I plan to post a bunch of stuff on my other game, Prophecy, soon and just listing the characters might take up alot of room...

Hey, I got a question...any rules about rediculously long posts? I haven't seen one but...just in case... That probably shoulda gone in the rules thread. XD Oh well. I think i have a good reason to not make a rule like that: If you do have lots to say, and you dont want to break that rule, you'd either have to: Double post ( ), Or leave your post as a cliffhanger and wait for someone else to reply before finishing it. Thats just my 2 cents ;D Back on topic now !

Well anyway, if there is a rule against it I'm sure Netto will warn me, so I won't worry about it for now. This post'll be kinda short though.
Prophecy
This is the story of Ryukin, a nomadic swordsman, known as the Blood Knight after the red armor he wears. As fate turns, Ryukin's past catches up with him as the world becomes more and more dangerous. This game focuses in a more medival time, where magic is still alive and takes form as the Six Elements. Fire, Water, Earth, Air, Light, and Darkness maintain balance in the world. But the balance starts to waver, and everything is slowly becoming more chaotic. There are three things this game's story revolves around. One, as mentioned it the Six Elements. Second are the Dragons, that are starting to wake after centurys of sleep. And third is human nature, something that really comes into play as more is revealed about the enemy in this game.
In my next post I'll reveal the 14 playable characters availible in this game, and after that I'll go further into the story. Till then...
All material in this post Copywrite to "Track" (That's me)
P.S. If anyone wants to stay on my other game, just tell me and I'll delete this and post it later. Cya.

don't submit your ideas to a company, trust me, they'll just reply with a legal letter saying something like:
"due to implications associated with accepting your idea we cannot use it, we thank you for submitting your idea and we hope you will continue to support our company by buying our games."
so for now hold onto the ideas and wait until you can make the game.
but the new game sounds good.

Heh, I already know that. That's why I'm not going to the companys on a wide spread basis. I'm going to talk to the developers themselves. I got a couple of ideas on how to do this, but I've been a little too lazy to try anything. Plus I want to finish the story for Prophecy first.
