So I was recently inspired by Megaman and thought of an original game idea. (I was also inspired by this flash movie, Rockman Neo:http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/76478) Neo Era In this post-apocalyptic world, not much is left to fight for. Humans are now almost extinct, and most that remain are cyborgs. As the robot Xirk, you try to restore the world and keep it from utter destruction. You play as Xirk, a security robot at a hidden research lab. The experiments being conducted there may hold the key to the planet’s resurrection. But the station is attacked, and everything of importance is either stolen or destroyed. Only three of the security forces are still alive, including Xirk. It is then that these three are sent out to find those that are responsible for the attack. Xirk only starts with a wrist cannon, but will acquire weapons as he progresses through the game, such as sonic cannons, flame throwers, missiles, and even a beam saber. I imagine the gameplay to be similar to MMX7, but with better control, Camera, and a better way of attacking. Also, it would be like Devil may cry, in the way that enemy's wouldn't be stationed to a set area. It's a work in progress

**Gags self**
Sorry, but it was seeing the line "gameplay to be similar to MMX7"
But your idea sounds a bit like MML's... in the sense of collecting different weapons...

That's what I thought, that's why I tweaked it a bit, so the gathering weapons isn't like MML at all. For one thing, the weapons arn't upgradeable. Two, he actually starts out with most of his weapons. He just can't use them. This will be a big part of the story. You see, Xirk's model was mass produced and they were all made with the same features. After that, the robot's were calibrated and have certain features turned off, depending on where they are sent to. During his progression through the game, Xirk figures out how to unlock some of his protected features. Of course, this gets him in trouble with his supiriors.
I've rethought a few things, and the compairison to MMX7 was a mistake. The play mechanics will be a 3-D enviorment with alot of freedom as to what you can do. Jumping and walking is smooth and natural. Long range combat will be like MML, but alot more fluid and less restricting. I can't think of a game to compair close range combat to, but it's like Devil May Cry with more control and less monotany.

Rockman Neo was going to be a game but Capcom warned them to stop or they would be sued. So they stopped and Rockman Neo was never continued

Andrew Dickman. He created the Rockman Neo flash movie in like 2000 or something to celebrate Megaman's popularity at the time. Later, he decided to modify the characters and story to create a series all his own, ridding his intellectual property of any ties to Megaman. Also, he never had any intent of making a game. I think Raikon is confused. Back when MML was in production, Rockman Neo was an early name idea. Here are some pics straight from Dickman. These are the characters after they had been de-megaized. But if you notice some of them you can still relate to the MM1 Robot Masters. img427.imageshack.us/img427/8504/perfectionneothesuperiorsbyand.jpgAnd here is another. The picture's save title say's he used to be called Solo, but I have no info on him other than that. img456.imageshack.us/img456/2285/heusedtobecalledsolobyandrewdi.jpgAll Material Copyright Andrew Dickman

He didnt want to make a game, but a huge team of programmers started making one. Well when they got the Capcom warning, the game was stopped plus Andrew Dickman had to remake the whole story and characters. A total script of the Rockman Neo story was created (I know the whole story of the "to be" series.

It's strange. Dickman's site, Starfield Creations has no references to the Megaman Neo series or the de-megamaned counter-part. You just can't find a single word on it. I e-mailed him a few days ago, but haven't got a reply yet. Anyway, does anyone have any ideas for my game?

Anyway, does anyone have any ideas for my game? An idea I have. A hybrid system. Or rather an Infection system. After like, beating a boss. You can recieve DNA samples an allow it to infect the Xirk. Like, the bosses would have something in their cells that would infect the robot of Xirk's model, just incase they were to go against their superior's will.
