Why don't people like Legends?

Why is it that people don't like the Megaman Legends series. I wish they would come out with even more of them. I've heard that it's because it's more like an RPG than a traditional megaman game, but why should people look down on that? It's good to have a wide variety of genres in a series.

I mean look at mario, there have been platformers, RPG's, racing games, sorits games; the same as Megaman, but they all get good raps. So why not the Blue Bomber?

I never played a legends game so I don't know. But your theory that people don't like it because its and rpg is probally incorrect. For the Battle Network series is kinda like an RPG too but that games became rather popular...

Legends was definately one of the best series ever, you have the deep, mysterious plotline, awsome characters, and some damn good music.

I see no reason at all that it should not be one of, if not the best Megaman series of all.

Legends hardly EVER advertised. . .I don't ever remember seeing a commercial about it in my entire life - it's just luck that I noticed the game on the store shelf one day. . . .And that I was a megaman fan.

If it wuold have advertised more then it wuld have probably been named one of the greatest rpgs of all time.^_^ Think about it...

Really late on this one but i wanted to say that I DID see an advertisement on the new game, Megaman Legends one! I noticed it right away because of the sw33t 3d and megaman was running around withought a helmet on.

some spokes person was talking about it being a "new" megaman game, "who are his friends? who are his enemies?" and at the very end it had deisel shouting "Lets do this!"

i had the N64 version of megaman legends and i can say it was good, the shining lazer was a bit over powered when fully upgraded, but it took alot to get it, so it balances out i guess.

When i played it (god, i wish i still had my 64) it was freakin awesome. i love the huge dungeons and random part collecting. i have played just about every megeman game made, and i really enjoy legends. for one of the reasons, i like it that he can use two weopons at once. i normally used the sheild untill the enemy stoped attacking, and then i blew their brains/CPUs out. as for why people dont like it, i know for a fact, because i had a big school at the time, and 30% of it were megaman fans, that they all sucked at it, and about all the time they had no idea what to do. so thats one reason.

i never heard a lot but it.once i saw an advertisement of it,and i thought it was from teh megaman series itself,3D.it was awesome,actually only a screenshot.taht was my first,and last for as logn time sight of what you may call legends(i think it was legends,it looked like X,or megaaman in 3D without his helm,brown spiky hair)until i was searching megaman characters(actually,i was searching mainly Iris) and foudn a web with every character from every game from teh megaman series.so many but onyl some chracater from legends taht inspiored me,or interested me a bit.it somehow reminded me of teh screenshot i sasw of megaman without his helmet. then i saw a lot about legends...and here i come and hear,as i expected,that it was a good game...

to bad i never had it...

You would like it. the dungeons are, as i said earlier, huge with tons of retard robots to shoot. i think this game gave whoever made Battle Net the idea for the Color changing megaman( when you use Darkchips, you get darker) Because if you go and kick soda machines, you will eventually turn a dark blue, then black. When you are black, people say different things about you. you maverick.... anyway, the boss battles are, interesting, to a point. some of the old bosses become regular enimies. the enimies are fun to gun. there are so many weak ones with only a few tough ones. the problem with that, you cant move fast enough to collect the spoils, but they fixed that problem with the Vacume Arm. it sucks, up all of your spoils. Then if you beat normal mode, you unlock easy mode, where you get a special buster equip, the Buster MAX. as the name implies, it force feeds Megaman some thousand pounds of steroids. with just that, you could beat the game. again.

except for the one part where you need the grand grenade, but me i like the active buster at max or the shining laser, the z-saber attachment was kind of useless, bad range, a single swipe only, and plus if i remember right it made you step forward with every slash. the sheild for me was a waste it drained energy so fast, and i can't remember if you could walk while using it or not. i don't think you could but even if you could, it ran out of energy so fast that it was almost pointless to use.
