I kind of disagree. I think Sting Chameleon could be quite devastating, especially if he doesn't have his weekness. Of course if that were so, I probably would not be able to beat him first in the game. Either that, or it would have taken me a lot longer to figure him out.
Anyway, the main problem with boss AI in the MMX series (and even some of the original series) is that they react to their weekness and always do the same thing, or something similar so that there is no escaping getting hit again. There are acceptions, but this is generally true.

If Bass form the EXE seires had a way better AI he would be almost unbeatabal (as if he's not already) if Bass BX was smarter amn thats just, man. and as forthe X5/X6 Zero (there the same) the gig sword is dogeabol its like duble you eather duck under it or climb the wall to ge above it, and if the boss always used there stronges attack you'ed learn there when to attack and you would learn when to move ot doge it.

Lol, I din't see the attack bymyself but MMXZ says it is Impossible to dodge and if you use nova strike you can't dodge the next one.

If you want to get really technical, humans are the flawed ones, because the AI is only doing what it has been programmed to do, therefore it is functioning perfectly. But humans are flawed because we can reason and anticipate with both can lead to problems, the AI doesn't do this, it follows a pattern.
and technically if you really thought it was bad, just remember the AI actually has to be slowed down to evenly match us otherwise it could kick our butts at light speed and we would have no time to react. (the average human reaction is .350 of a second and in that time a computer has already acted well over 350 times.)

what do you think the best boss is with a very good AI ( means he can not dodge everthing but much. Generally speaking, the bosses don't dodge. They either come at you or they stand in 1 spot and shoot/throw stuff at you forcing you to dodge.

Seriously though, I would enjoy playing a game (other than Goldeneye 007 on 007 mode) that the computer could easily outsmart you.

consider that a ps1 has a cpu clock speed of 33mhz, so that means it's moving things at 33 million instructions per second, if we take that as even 1/3rd (so 11million devoted to controlling the enemy) as opponent's sprite control, and a further third of that as attacks (the other 2/3rds as movement) using full power, he's already hit you 3.33 million times in a single second, you would just be starting to move your thumb as he scored his 1,110,000th hit as you reacted to the start. (providing you both started at the same time.)
computers as I said have to be dumbed down, thats the challenge... to dumb it down enought to compete with it but not so much that it's too easy, and not leave it at such a high level that it beats the pants off you before you blink.

that dose'nt make sence because teh sprites would have to move at the same speed the comp could'nt move sprites at a faster pace because the sprites a diffrent program both of your need to move at the same speed
Example: if he jumps and you jump at the same speed and you both go the to peak of your jump (no dubl jump) you both need to hit the ground at the same time your saying that his would be faster when the sprites all have a sencro movement

thats not the case if there is no limiter (such as fps which in the last post I made, I omitted to show how fast a cpu is in comparison to a human), see all "AI" is limited this way, the 60 fps that the ps1 runs at, is a division of the 33mhz between all aspects of the hardware and software, theoretically if you turn sound off and the background frames, so that it was basically you and the opponent, then it would be a complete division of processing power to reading your movements and the opponets "AI", and you would both speed up, but since the human reaction time is still limited to .350 of a second your still getting beaten pretty bad. In this case all having more speed does is ramp up the FPS to a point where you can't react fast enough.
