According to Dr.Cain's journal
X was found on April 10th
First Reploid created from X's blueprints on November 22th
Zero was activated on February 16th
Sigma went maverick on June 14th.

There is no confirmation that Sigma was created after X. Cain only says that Sigma is his best robot. And his worst nightmare was that he became a maverick. That happened on June 14th

but foloowing logical conclusion, the first writing in the journal concerning X is before the ones concerning Zero/Sigma
and besides April is before November so x was found first yes?
then time passes and Zero becomes active on the Febuary of the next year. ( it has to be otherwise that entry would be before the finding of X )

Sigma has to be after X because it says he is a reploid right?
reploid = replicate android based of X's plans.
X and Zero are not reploids ( they are just regular androids )

I've always thought that X and Zero were remodeled using Cain's reploid blueprints at somepoint.

to tell you the truth i don't know about sigma that much but i know he was affected by the zero virus and eventually became the sigma virus... he was once good...

( this info was taken from the command mission character timeline)

Wily found out about X and created Zero to destroy him and spread the Zero Virus. he was placed in cryosleep and set to awaken when X did. when X awakened, he was the mold for every other reploid. however X has human like mutatable DNA which allows him to get new weapons, instead of only having 1 weapon like every other reploid. only Dr.Light new of this technology and took it to his grave with him ( he died of old age).

when Zero awakened, he hunted down X and fought him. Unit 17 ( X's Maverick hunter unit) delayed Zero long enough for the heavily wounded X to escape. Sigma was the 2nd in command of Unit 17.

Sigma fought zero with is S-Saber while Zero used a titanium pipe. they fought long and Sigma was wounded.( as seen in cutscene in X4). Wily pre-programmed a line of code that when a more powerful reploid was in battle with Zero, the the Zero virus would transfer to that new reploid and Zero would be shut down.

during the fight, sigma lost his S-Saber and Zero picked it up and used it on sigma. he kept the saber and it is now known as the Z-Saber.so Zero transferred the Zero virus to Sigma and shut down. Sigma became more and more seduced by the power enhancing effects of the Zero virus. he mutated the virus to his own DNA and it bacame the Sigma Virus.

Zero was rebooted and vowed to destroy the virus he helped spread. he was also given command of an elite maverick hunter unit, called unit zero.

Sigma, under the influence of the Sigma Virus, was able to revive himself as long as there were useable parts around and he was given the abil to plug himself into computer programs if his body were to be destroyed.
thats how sigma became the annoying badass in all the X games.

I believe all that, i just didn't know X and Zero fought before that.
Wouldn't X remember that battle in the X games?

People in the MegaMan world tend to forget things alot. Like, wouldnt the X era people remember MegaMan (but hes never even mentioned) And Ledgends, No one remembers X or Zero (sept in the posteres and comics you see lying around)

true but maybe the people dont want to talk about all the bad things that happened in those eras because of al the suffering manking went through because of the Mavericks fighting.

that story is possible but the only issue I have with it is, if Zero and X fought before Sigma and Zero fought, then why would X allow Zero to join the hunters ( him being maverick and all ), because the way I understand it is, X didn't officially join as a hunter until Sigma went maverick, and that kind of skews the story a bit.

actually i think what happened is when Zero transferred the Zero virus into Sigma, X knew he was free from the maverick symptoms and zero joined the maverick hunters to destroy anyone who became corrupted because of his maker

megaman didnt have a armor upgrade at all, X was based off of megaman's desighn, but dr.light added improvements. im not to sure if zero kill dr.light after he put X in hibernation, because he must of had time to make the upgrade capsuls for X. megaman was infact killd by zero. (P.S: zeros first kill was bass...) the evidence of wily creating Zero first apperd in power battles 2, Bass ending. in concluion, X and megaman are totly difrent robots, X was put in hibernation after being made,(hence the memory problems) and Zero was put to sleep by wily for resons unknown. (some say dr.wily made an apperence in the X series,but I dout it.)

X was put into hibernation when he was created to ensure that he would not go maverick. The hibernation cleansed his system making him immune to the virus.

X isn't immune to the virus. You can see that in X5-X6.
He was put into hibernation to make sure nothing is wrong and he wouldn't go maverick.
Wily knew of that so he sent Bass to steal X's plans and created the first reploid: Zero
