I really love Command Mission. It's really awesome. However, it's too short and too linear. And I know a way that Capcom could easily use as a plot for the second one if they make it: Spider. I know, he [SPOILERS!] was actually Redips. [SPOILERS!]. But you have to remember, there had to be someone that Redips was copying. When you defeat Great Redips, he reverts back to his Colonel form. So a second Command Mission could expand on the real Spider's story.
Would you like a second Command Mission?

Maybe, though one about spider wouldn't be so good, despite the fact that he is one of my fav. reploids. Why? well:
1. Yes, redips turned back into his colonel form. That superform didn't exist. so who's to say that spider never existed at all?
2. I randomly came up with 1. I side more with this- Spider, from what I got from the game, was a bounty hunter who was best of friends with aile and died. I should assume he was killed by redips either by secretive means (corrupted power) or by law (maybe being a bounty hunter is crime, or perhaps he had targeted the wrong people and got captured and deactivated/scrapped) So him comming back could look like something of a lesser-shadow the hedgehog....and who wants that? most didn't even like it the first time.

I have a few possible ideas.
1- X and team are again called to giga city, reploids are being kidnapped and no reason can be determined. As X and team arrive they are confronted by a reploid that appears to be spider... Persuing him they get ambushed as spider gets away. They beat the enemies, but it's too late, spider has gotten away. Undeterred the hunters head off to examine the scenes of the disapperances, and in each location spider seems to turn up... "Is he investigating this mess as well? or is he causing it?" the hunters wonder. So they begin to investigate spider and learn of his backstory. They discover that at each location the reploids abducted were of a specialized type... Designed for a speciffic purpose, some manufacturing, some research, some fighting... At the end, they discover spider, standing over an enhanced battle body, constructed speciffically to defeat X and co. Spider laughs and the fight begins. After they beat spider once, the hunters rush to him, they see that spider has reverted to redips... he was never spider, he was just leading them around. He had survived the crash after all by copying a sigma body and hiding in the wreckage. However he was damaged and limited on only a few forms... Sigma, Spider and his own natural form. Using the caputured reploids he built the battle body and when he was done, he killed and absorbed their parts to repair himself. And as they get closer, the battle body reactivates and this time completely fuses with redips. The final fight begins... But from out of the blue the real spider shows up. And joins the team to defeat the massive enemy, (afterwards he becomes a playable character for a second run through, as well as the myriad of bonus features at the end of the game...)
Or...
2- Make a new command mission without spider in it at all.

wow. The only problem I see in that, though is the fact that the only "wreckage" that survived was the little containment X, Zero, and Axl hid in. everything else never got through the atmosphere.

Hmm, then revise that to: Redips clung to the outside and back of the container X and co arrived back on earth in... Redips was flung off after clearing the atmosphere and he landed in the ocean near giga city.

How about just simply a game of spider's past? and to keep it X-related, have the story of how giga city was created, or maybe how spider was sent on a money mission to assasinate colonel, a failed attempt(ya know, just to include a well-known X series character.)

I have to go with VZ's other idea, #2. I liked MMXCM because it was unlike any other MMX game and no old people from past games were in it. (Excluding X, Zero, and Axl of course) And the fact that it had a completly diffrent story than what were use to.

I would like to see a second one, but I have a feeling there are too many "what ifs". Also, my main problem with VZ's idea is that since X and Zero didn't want to be standing outside when the hit the atmosphere then it must be too hot, even for them. So, I don't think Redips could have made it through the atmosphere either.
In terms of making a background game, it would be best if they titled it "Spider and Aile" and have various missions that Spider and Aile do. So, it would pretty much be along the lines of MMZ where you don't have any idea who the boss is until he/she shows up.
If you followed up with a sequal, then you can call it MMXCM2. The best way I think a sequal would work would be to have Sigma discovere a small shard of the Supra-Force Metal and begin to cause havoc with a new line of mavericks.

The only problem I see with that idea for a prequel is that X, Zero and Axl don't know of Spider.. and if he tried to make an assasination on Colonel then they would most assuredly find out and thus would know him...
As for the idea redips being outside when falling and it being too hot... Yes, but remember parts of Zero's helmit survived the fall from ragnarok as well as atleast a few tiny fragments of weil...
So if you had a reploid that could shapeshift and cool itself on entry then possibly it could survive... See what I'm saying? (Sigma body for most of the time, when it gets too hot then shift to an aqua type reploid, cool off then revert to sigma form before the heat overcame the water... )
And it's also quite possible that the re-entry craft would have thrusters to slow itself down, thus lessening the heat generated. And possibly enabling redips to survive.

1. True, though Colonel never spoke of his attack and fight with X and Zero respectively, so he might not say anything about Spider of something eventful happened during their fight....something out of respect or something.
2. Zero and the ragnorok were closer to the earth than Redips' whatever-thing I think. Eh, this could side either way.
3. It wasn't a re-entry craft, but actually those in-between shudder places that you often go through before bosses. In fact, I think that piece was bigger than it was after it landed in the ocean.

1- Nah, if someone tries to kill the leader of the hunters, then most assuredly it would be well known and well investigated by hunter ranks... and that would mean that the top teams would certainly know of it. ( And most likely X and Zero would be sent to investigate... )
2- According to the end movie of command mission they are just outside of the earth's atmosphere, when they defeat redips the place starts to fall, so I'd say they're just about the same distance from earth as in Zero and Weil's fight...
3- Yeah, from looking at the vid its certainly not likely to be a re-entry craft... My mistake on that. But even still if most of it survives then there is a slight possibility that if redips was on the top he could possibly survive as well.

hwa? Colonel was the leader of the maverick hunters? I thought he and the Repliforce were only allies of the Maverick Hunters?...Well, I still think Colonel would fend off Spider enough so that such a threat wouldn't need an alert. I mean, he belittled X and Zero when he made the big attack, not hoping for a big fight but simply tried to get them out of the way.
Or Spider could have his own story altogether like Vincent and have DMC gameplay while doing ranks for money to be spent on power-ups and secret bonus stuff......oh, and I've never played dirge of cerberus so I'm not accentuating this possible game with the latter.

Woah, looks like I messed up big time... You said Colonel and I was thinking Signas... (How did I mix that one up? Is it that they look so much alike?) But I don't think it could happen... Unless the game takes place pre-X4 ( Otherwise Colonel is dead... Colonel dies in X4... Killed by Zero or X depending on who you choose to play as. Canon is that Zero kills him...) But as for Colonel mocking Zero/X... Yeah, he did and look what happened to him, he got wiped off the face of the planet. Spider I don't think would be suitable for DMC gameplay... he doesn't have alot of moves... I'd like to see Zero in a DMC type game though, cause that'd be awesome.

I could, I mean the guy appears to have better "stats" the X. when X tried to shoot at him, I think he did a matrix-like dash move then knocked the guy into the wall.(years since I saw it) Plus he leapt from a building! D=
Now that i think about it, I bet he has enough ability to mock Dante's style. He's fast, agile, strong, he can appearently take a good hit, and he can shoot cards like a machine gun (as seen in the um,....*forgot the name* the final strike thing. And then he's got the attitude, one ya just can't hate.

All the crazy colonel clones for us to destroy!!! Mwahahahaha. Let's just say I got tired of seeing another colonel clone over and over again... Oh well random moment completely off topic. So yeah That would be the possibility of Command Mission being a one hit wonder only because of all the other timelines and branches to the series. Don't get me wrong it was great to play a megaman X game in traditional RPG format!
