I thought that too but then i tried it and then i started making good recolors which i dont tend to do anymore

You just have to try and find the shade of color that the color for certain pixels are and change them.If there's a dark red one, replace it with a dark green one.It may not be that easy for you though.I'm a sprite editor as well as recolourer and I have alot of experience so I'm not sure if this will help.
