April 1st 2009 was the supposed release date... Which has obviously passed and yet nothing was shown to be done. (Else we would have heard more about it since then.) In fact the whole release date should be a massive clue as to the legitimacy of the trailer. In case it isn't obvious, anything to be released on April 1st should be subject to much skepticism.
Only way I foresee a Zelda movie in the near future is if some ambitious fans get to work on it. (I can't see Hollywood attempting it. There'd be way too much of a chance they'd bungle it. And considering the status of Legend of Zelda in gamer's minds, I would think they'd rather not risk irritating such a large group.)

I don't know about that one honestly I remember it being a topic about this on an old forum site and we decided it was just a very bad and well epic prank. But, people can dream right if they truelly believe in it. Heck I remember the last person who posted it was like omg and the rest of us were about the same till told otherwise...

OMG It's a ZELDA MOVIE--
no...I can't fake it. But yea. What they said.
Every time I think of this being recreated as something watchable, I always forsee a failed horrible live-action mini-series.

Well they did have an animated series of it ,but by god it wasn't exactly that great. I think I'd preferred the live action Super Mario Bros Movie they made back in the 80's. Sure it was wonky in some parts ,but was a bit of a different idea.

"Well excuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuse me, princess!"
God, Link was annoying in that cartoon.
I really think Link always gets the short end of the stick when it comes to being an actual character, rather then some super-soldier. In the games, they never let him get a word in edge-wise (on the rare occasions when he does speak, Nintendo pointedly refuses to show it out of what they call 'Open-to-interpretation characterization', but what I call 'poorly-justified lazy writing'), and on the cartoon show, where they gave him free-reign with dialog, the script he was working from was written by Wheeler from Captain Planet.
Pretty much everything about the old cartoon show (and CD-i games, but Word Of Everything says they never existed) was an ignorable abortion, from bad characters who share only the names of their video-game counterparts to stock plot elements such as the hero and female lead having a love-hate relationship.
But if they did do an Ocarina of Time movie, I'd like to see a bit of a nod towards it. Probably after Link beats Ganondorf and he and Zelda are standing outside the rubble where his tower stood moments ago and he says 'I miss Shiek', Zelda says 'Link, I was Shiek, remember?' and he replies with the dreaded catch-phrase and points out the fundamental difference between her and Shiek's personality that makes Link prefer to think Shiek is his own man, then they get into a sibling rivalry type arguement before Link notices the rubble moving through Zelda's noogie headlock.
It would fit, it would be funny, and it would confuse the Hell out of the 20% of the film's audience who aren't well-versed in Zelda history.
