I would't bare to see that happen. I dunno why, but I consider games valuable; it's hard for me to trade them off, sell them, or even have others borrow them(aside from Shic). That being said, I'd probably get a little technical with a screw driver if that happened...lol. No emphasis on little....I'd be willing to *literally* hack the 360 in half for a game. After losing the PSP, the DS, the SP, the SNES, the Genesis, and the original Nintendo through hardware problems, I've lost care of the systems themselves. (That is to say, the 360 is treated fine. So is the Wii. and the good 'ol Ps2)
Erm, just to keep on topic,....I heard the game takes place in Africa. Anyone care to discuss? Since alot of hype is around it, I'm sure I'll eventually fall into watching someone play it or maybe even get the game myself.

Well, I've played the PS3 demo myself, and the levels in the demo do seem to take place in Africa. (I'm half surprised that people aren't leapng on Capcom for being racist... But I wouldn't be surprised if someone makes that claim before much longer. )
Though back to the game, the aiming seems a bit odd, cause you can't move while aiming, and I needed to adjust the aim sensitivity as well as the invert Y axis setting. (Cause the default seems awkward to me, I'm used to pressing up to move the targetting reticle down and back to move it up. )

Because of my race, I may sound stupid for asking...but in the last game, they were targeting the--I forget when it came to race. Why is there tension now?

The characters are in Africa, killing Africans... The problem is that some overly sensitive (probably composed of white guys or the prototypical soccer moms) political rights group is going to find this offensive and not bother to do any real research into the matter. Then they are simply going to look at some trailers for the game and then run off making the claim it's racist against Africans (or Black people in general).
And yeah Resident Evil 4 was mainly killing the Spanish. But before that, you gotta look at who they killed... RE1 - White guys RE2 - White guys RE3 - (I'm not sure, cause I've never played this one.) RE - Code Veronica X - White guys (Well atleast for the first 25% of the game... Cause I got stuck at a point and haven't ben able to get past it.) RE Zero - (I'm not sure, cause I've never played this one.)
But back to my point, this rights group isn't going to look at the evidence, they're just gonna make a wild claim and try to attack Capcom. Cause those political rights groups love nothing more to cause a fuss whenever they can, Especially if it involves videogames and could possibly result in some lawsuit. (Cause everyone knows videogames are today's whipping boy when it comes to why kids are so screwed up, [sarcasm]it couldn't be the parent's fault at all... No sir. Just cause the parents ignored the child and/or never tried to teach them doesn't mean that it is ever the parent's fault.[/sarcasm])

what about RE4? based in Europe, killing Spanish, no body called it racist, and the fact that people get mad that they aren't involved in games makes calling this game racist, bias

Yeah that is very true however someone did complain about RE5 at one point and it almost cancelled the game entirely from ever coming to the United States and Europe... I beleive there was an article about it somewhere I just can't remember where if only the informer of Games was still here because he would know. Anyways one more day than midnight on the final is when the moon shall fall and creatures of the dark rear the heads for the true survivors of the world. Come to think of it... To be off topic just a bit.
RE 1: White Guys and one white female. RE 2: White Guys, Marvin the only black guy and white females... RE 3: White Guys, Fat Guys that were white, and Females. RE CVX: White Guys, a black hispanic guy gets eaten and the one female tyrant. RE 0: White Guys and a cross dresser. RE 4: Spanish guys with parasites. RE 5: Africans then back to white guys again ,but with the new strain of virus...
So why has anyone complained about the white people I am surprised the white surpremisists didn't find it offensive. Why aren't there any of the Asian Populace? Oh well it's just a game its not like anyone is trying to reinvoke racism at hard levels again... But, I guess people need to stop being ignorant and swallow their pride. Sorry for the repeat and the long speal.

Well as a tip for you when you get the game beat a few chapters and stockpile on rounds and money it helps immensly later on especailly with the best end boss fight I have in a long time. Oh Upgrade stuff as much as you can because if you upgrade at least one gun of a certain type you will get a nice gun for it ,but of course you have to buy it first as well to get it.

so um, after playing the game for a while, The female protagonist sheva has a stupid AI, useless, she just wastes bullets and health packs... Seriously its like an extra hard difficulty, she is useless, and you still have to give her commands...

Is it true that you have to make sure your partner survives as well as yourself? that by its self seems kinda hard

My brother picked up the game on friday, and we have been playing co-op...
But first a review of the game.
Firstly, this is a review for the PS3 version, I have no idea how the 360 compares. And as of yet, I am not finished the game. My brother and I are about 80%-90% done.
Graphics - 10/10 - The graphics are exceptional from the moment you are dropped (weaponless) into the fictional region of Africa that the game takes place. Which you will traverse through for most of if not all the way thorugh the game. And even in the later levels, where your crawling through zombie ridden complexes, People look realistic and the environments look stunning. But you really won't be focusing on them while an angry hoarde of the infected chase you around... But when you do finally stop and get a chance to examine things you'll find they look great.
Sound - 7/10 - Honestly most of the music is forgettable. There were no tracks that really stood out in my mind after I stopped playing the game. But when you are in the thickt of playing, the music does add that much more atmosphere to the game. The pounding beats when the enemies start showing up, a hoarde of the infected accompanied by a drum heavy sound. This produces an effect of heightened adrenaline, getting you pumped for a fight. The boss battles on the other hand, I have utterly no memory of the tracks for them... And during most of them I wasn't focused on the music anyway, but more on this later.
The voice acting is pretty good, no major lines feel forced or fake. (Unlike some of the dialogue that Nero delivered in Devil May Cry 4.) And the sound effects are good, the guns sound right, the foot steps are there and you don't have dogs that meow like cats. So we're all good here.
Controls - 7/10 - The default controls are pretty good but personal preference will dictate how well you do. Because for myself, I am used to the inverted y axis (for those that are confused by the term... it means when you are aiming, you push the control stick up to look down. ) The game comes preset with the standard up = up and down = down. So I had to change this... which for second player you actually have to change this every time.
Though beyond the initial configuration, once you get in game things feel will a bit awkward at first if you haven't played a Resident Evil game before, but then you get used to it. Though this game is a bit unlike the predecessor, RE4, in that the tank like controls do return... But they are much more intuitive and easier to use compared to RE2 or even later games. (The tank controls being push left to turn left, then push forward to move in that direction. This is unlike games where you just push left to move left.)
R1 is your primary gun button, raising your gun up and allowing you to take aim at the enemies... Square as the fire button and X as the reload.
Beyond that you'll need square for most context attacks such as when you stagger your opponent you can oft run up and press square to do a punch/kick or finisher move depending on the state of the enemy. Though you will also use the L1 + square which is knife slash for some enemies or just breaking open the countless boxes in the game.
Gameplay - 10/10 - The main game is apparently very short at 10-14 hours long, but it has co-op offline and online play. And once you beat the main game other modes open up... So despite the short initial length the game offers alot of content for the buck. (Which is good considering the price of games...)
But the core of the game follows you (as Chris Redfield) and his new partner Sheva (either as AI controlled or with a friend.) as you battle through the area to confront the newest threat in the area. (What this is will be revealed in the game, and for spoilers sake, I'll keep quiet on it.) There are countless enemies to fight, and they employ various tactics. Some enemies will attempt to run up and slash you with their knives or use their fists, later others have grenades and bow guns then finally they pick up machine guns. For the later types of enemies taking cover and using strategy with 2 players comes in handy for escaping with minimal harm. This is especially useful because there are many enemies which can kill in a single hit... (Remember those chainsaw guys from RE4? Yeah, they return. If you don't remember them... you'll get acquainted them them soon enough.)
But it should be noted that the AI partner will often waste your ammo and healing items. So you really have to be careful and pay attention to what she is doing. (For example, I have seen the AI Sheva attempt to snipe enemies across the level with a pistol... using nearly 20-25 rounds in the process. And while you may scoff at the notion of 20 rounds, bear in mind that pistols only start with 9-13 rounds per clip and you can only carry 50 rounds per inventory space, and each character has only 9 spaces. Which you will have to divy up to hold your guns, ammo, grenades and healing items.) Thankfully though the AI Sheva is not bad otherwise.
But on the note of the inventory and guns... Guns are upgradeable, which means you'll be collecting the vast treasures of the world to sell so you can upgrade. Upgrading has its ups and downs... There is only so much you can upgrade a gun, and the more you upgrade, the more it costs. (Don't be discouraged though... there is a very good reason to upgrade every aspect of a gun to the maximum... But for spoilers sake,I'll not mention it.) But you can only upgrade your guns at the sections between chapters, or if you die during the game, which drops you back at the last checkpoint you passed. (Thankfully you keep any treasures or weapons/ammo you found along the way since the checkpoint.) Also while there you can organize the items and store them into a larger vault type thing... Which to my knowledge can hold pretty much everything you can throw in it. (I haven't seen it filled and I am not sure if you can actually fill it to capacity.)
Overall - 9/10 - This is a great game for co-op. Single player isn't bad, but it really shines for co-op. Having a second person taking the reins as Sheva makes the game progress so much smoother because you can actually talk to them and form strategies. I will say; that at this point I have not tried online yet, so I cannot accurately say anything about it. But I will likely get to it eventually.

I heard from another person who had beaten the game that the Sheva AI is actually really good if you give her a sniper rifle. I haven't played it yet so I don't know myself so I'm just going to take his word for it and give her the sniper when I get it
