The best moment I had in a video game was at the very end of Lunar Silver Star Story Complete for the PS1. After about an hour of combat, Ghaleon (the final boss) used this powerful spell, wiping out everyone except the leader, Alex (he wasn't doing too great himself). I had no items to heal him, no items to revive, nothing at all. All I had, was the exact amount of MP needed to use his strongest move Sword Dance. So, either I got killed by Ghaleon's strongest magic spell, or I dealt some damage. I got up, ready to reset the game and try again, since Lunar has a way of smacking you to the floor when you try to beat it. Ghaleon attacked first. He appeared right in front of Alex, slashed him with his sword, then went back to his space. I couldn't believe it when the words "MISS" came up. Nearly Sh** myself. Then, Alex's turn came. He runs up to Ghaleon, slashes him a dozen times, then jumps back through the air, landing back in his space. "...Ghuh!" Ghaleon falls. "OH HELL YES!" It was the most epic moment ever in a video game for me. Nothing in my gaming history compares. And I doubt that anything will. OMG the same thing happened to me aswell, everyone died but Alex, down to few HP, no items left to heal or revive, killed him with Sword Dance aswell. Another VG moment was in FFX, when I was battling Dark Ifrit. Everyone in my party died except for Tidus, and I didn't have the uber equipment needed to kill him. During that time it was Tidus' turn and I used Blitz Ace, and also succeeded in Sphere Shot of the Blitzball, after that sequence he was still standing!!! I was like oh I'm F'ed now. Then out of the blue he just collapsed just like that as if the game was lagging. Feeling confident from defeating him, I tried fighting other Dark Aeons, but miserably failed after T_T.

I remember a sequence similiar to these, only in reverse. The game, Final Fantasy VII. The boss, that angel-form Sephiroth whathisface. It was a long fight. I was but a wee lad, but my spirit was indestructable. Against impossible odds, I took my underleveled characters and took on that bloody one winged angel. I fought the bugger for four hours. Four effin' hours. And when I was finally about to wrap it up, he casts this totally mean- spell that totally confused my party. I had Cid in the frontlines, and he was about to take a random action. He might attack Sephiroth. He might attack me. There were dozens of things he could've done, but he chose to use an item. A megalixir. At this point, a wide smile came across my face. "Hah, he'll actually do something useful, as this will completely save my entire party!" He used it on Sephiroth. On Sephiroth. The boss I had battled for four goddamn hours. Four. Hours. All down the toilet. Gone. Done. Finished. You can't even begin to imagine my frustration.

The proper reply to such a situation is to quickly command all the other members of your party to hack and slash at the one responsible of your misfortunes. Ignore the voice of reasons which exclaims something about that pile of pixels not being a conscious entity. Punish it for it's disobedience!
Eh, I recall a less-devastating occasion during my FF8-career. Dream sequence. Some random encounter against meaningless fodder enemies. The fatty in my party (who's name escapes me) gets confused, pulls out one of my few beloved elixirs and uses it on himself, despite being full hp and everything. His lifespan, as confused as it may have been, was shortened drastically after that tactless act.
On an unrelated note: mr Dualzero doesn't approve of using Yojimbo to beat the said Dark Aeons? :X

Yojimbo's nice to use against the Dark Aeons if you don't feel like grinding for the next 2 years.
Though I did end up beating up all Dark Aeons without Yojimbo.
Along with Penance, like, alot later. Penance is probably the hardest boss of all times. Even with 99999 HP and max stats, including 99999 damage per normal attack, you'll still take around 1 hour to beat him.

Did you guys use the "Overdrive to AP" on a weapon coupled with stoic overdrive type against the cactuar king to level up massively?
Which conincidentally was a pretty sweet moment when I first used that trick, cause I figured it wouldn't work. I figured what game designer would keep such a trick in the game... But then it worked and I was rather amazed.

Hey guys, stop flaunting your precious ff moments.
Because my brother let press the final button needed to use the omni-slash on Sephiroth to rid him of the world. Can't get more sentimental that that! >:P

I remember beating all the Weapons with only Cloud.

I recall one time allowing him to go on attacking me instead of using Omnislash as soon as the fight starts. Wanted to die to him just for laughs. Cloud counter-attacked automatically, with a normal attack, and killed Sephi one-hit. :(

Noticed this thread and I was willing to post. xD One of my most memorable... uhm memories about video games must be Halo 2's cliffhanger. I remember it as clear as day: [insert flashback scene] It was 2004, I had never played Halo CE before. And I just go my first XBOX. It was a limited edition, it came with Halo 2, a silver-ish colored xbox and two controllers. So I started playing not knowing the story from Halo CE, I had only heard some stuff about it. And that it was uberly cool. So I start playing and I was being " this is so kewl! " Played through the first 3 levels, then I got to figure out I was getting to play as the Arbiter. Which I hated at first. I refused to play that first level you play as the Arbiter. So I just replayed the first 3 levels over and over for like a week. Then finally I went playing on, and eventually I loved playing as the Arbiter and soon the Arbiter was my favorite Halo character of all time. So I finally get to the last level(not knowing it was the last). And when the level finished I watched the cut-scene. And I was like " ok! let's finish the fight! Time to kick @ss!" I picked up my controller ready to do the next level. And I was still being hyped because I just got out of a boss-fight. And there the credits roll in, man... I really lost it. I went nuts almost throwing my controller away screaming "WTF!?" I believe my mother had to come up to my room and told me to shut up, and she used her "famous" phrase.... "It's just a game". I think I almost threw my controller at her. Come on, I was only 14 years old. So yeah, that was a very shocking day for me. I also remember the day when I got my Xbox 360. Because that was the day Halo 3 came out. I still wanted to finish the fight. I was pretty dissapointed learn it only had 9 levels. So, another shocking moment. (spoiler down below) And of course, they also had to kill of all lead characters. By killing the girl Miranda Keyes, which didn't bother me much. But it was unexpected to see the sarge being lasered by some f*cking glowing ball that decided to "set the Fasers to vaporize". And of course Master Chief drifting in outer space in a capsule. But of course the bad@ss the Arbiter pretty much survived to whole thing. (spoilers end here) So yeah, I like the Halo series, but eventually they all dissapointed me except for Halo CE which was absolutely perfect. Although, I really love Halo 3's multiplayer. And with recently revealed that a new Halo game is coming 2009 called Halo 3 Recon. In which you will play as an ODST(orbital drop shock trooper) So lets see how that will turn out. looooong post. Anyway thats all I have to say about that. xD

Another great moment for me was in Advanced Wars. Shic, remember the time Eagle and I were locked in one heck of a stalemate? I barely beat him. I was outmatched and outclassed, but I used all the tactics I could think of the beat him. Yea, one of the best moments ever.
