I know exactly what you mean because the same thing happened to me... couldn't beat anyone and then somehow I beat Elecman. And then I went on to find that his power killed Iceman in 3 hits.. it was a great moment.

When I discovered that Dr. Doppler only regenerates health with that lame green shield of his if I keep shooting at him when he uses it. That was why it took eternities to kill Dr Doppler.. There was no single boss fight as long as the fight with Dr. Doppler... Best moment? When I killed Dr Doppler first time, it took me way too long to kill him...

For me it was something simple. Since I was little, I had always been fascinated with Megaman games every time I saw one or had the rare opportunity to play one. I had played MMX1, MM2, and MM4, but never for very long and I had never beaten a boss. I got to Airman once, but was beaten and didn't have a chance to play again. My ultimate moment was when I first rented MM8 and beat my first robot master, Grenade Man. After dozens of tries and replays through his level, I finally beat him with my heart pounding out of my chest. I've been hooked on Megaman ever since ;D. On a related note, who were your guys' first robot masters you beat? I went in reverse order with robot masters, meaning my first RM victory was from Megaman&Bass. It was after that game that I went for the others, so Pirate man was my first kill. I new that the the usuall weakness system was in, but I had no idea who beats who, so I randomly chose Pirate man. In my opinion, everything about him was cool. That and how I saw he was beatable without powers gave me enough drive to replay his level and kill him. He also has my fav. weapon. As for the mavericks, I can very well relate to ya, just like Tank can. A long time ago, coming across a megaman game was rare for me as well, and the one I played was X2. Again and again, Overdrive barely escaped his death by finishing me off with his often-used running pounce or the overdrive-slice attack......heh. Years later, I bout X collection and he was the first to die......erm, save the various amounts of mavericks and the fat guy in the beginning. lol.

On a related note, who were your guys' first robot masters you beat? Mine was Overdrive ostarge as MMx2 was the first I ever played. But as for Robot master I think it was Clownman. As for most epic moment, thats easy. In MMz1 I didn't know that Phantom blew up, so I stood next to him and well that was my downfall.

Eh... His weakness, as in, Triad Thunder?
He's pretty much the first boss that I used to go after. Climb the wall while you charge a regular buster shot. He shoots the little brown things at you, which make you fall off the wall as they hit you. Keep climbing at the corner of the wall until the first one hits you, which makes you fall. Shoot the charged shot. He charges at you at that point with his claw, after the third one has been shot, about the same time you land on the ground and shoot the said charge shot. Before he reaches you, climb the wall again and dash jump over him to the opposite end of the room. Start climbing the wall again. Repeat until the fight is over. Might sometimes have a little accident if you're being lazy or slow when he starts butt-charging you after losing half of his hp.
Haven't played the game for a while now so... If my memory fails me hard here, there's actually a chance that you might not even need to jump over him at any point. Either way, the wall is the way to go.
Abuse, no? :p

.....
ouch.
Ouch man. W-well, it's not like I've fought him many times or something. I went in there once and because I was overestimating the guy(come on...he's a shrimp...) I got killed without even trying. And then from then on, I assumed that the weakness was the way to go. I knew everyone's beatable without the weaknesses, I just forgot about that guy in particular. So I popped in X collection and handed his arse to him.

Actually, I think the one and only MMX3 boss I haven't gone on to beat first is that damned Volt Catfish (or something in the lines of that). Srsly. After half hp it becomes impossible. He turns invulnerable, and those energy orb things he pelts about are nigh-impossible to dodge properly. Shoot at the blue shields next to him all you want - makes no difference, seeing how they just vanish and then your buster shots reflect off of his invulnerable majesty. Only way I succeeded in dodging those energy orbs was by standing real close to him, and then the moment he stops shooting them, he slides and crashed into me. >_>
Best yet, one can land perhaps two shots to him before he turns invulnerable again. It's ridiculous.

.....I accept your challenge. *goes off to play X3* Edit: I saw the light... Literally. It was pretty simple actually. What I did was stay really close to him like ou said. Then I noticed that near the end of the attack, One or two sparkles fall near you almost(and can sometimes) hitting you before tow more come and he tackles. I dashed forward to dodge the first sparkles, then leapt onto the base of the wall to dodge the last sparks an make my way out of harm's way. It was a fun fight. He beat me on the first because I forgot about the shine attack. Then beat me on the second because I didn't know he did the attack where three sparks flew into the wall...totally messed me up. Then I got him perfect on the last try.
