I wondered if anyone was going to make a thread of this awesome series but apparently not, I'll do it myself.
It has an Anime and Manga currently running. I believe it's much better than Bleach and Naruto and similar ones.
Plus better characters, Lavi and the Earl are so awesome D:
Summary:
AKUMA, killing machines which use souls as energy. The Earl of Millenium, creator of AKUMA, planning his own 'scenario' that will lead to the end of humanity. EXORCIST, people chosen by God to syncronise with "Innocence" and obtain supernatural powers in the shape of Anti-AKUMA weapons. Whose duty is to destroy AKUMA, save their souls, and defy the Earl of Millenium in the name of mankind. Allen Walker is an exorcist, his left arm is an Anti-AKUMA weapon, his left eye holds a curse which enables him to see the tortured soul of AKUMA. To uphold his promise to his late father to "never stop moving forward" he joins the Black Order of exorcists. With his fellow exorcists, Allen strives to save AKUMA and human alike, and to stop the Earl's 'scenario' from ever coming true.

I was about to after the 50th chapter in the manga... but you've been watching/reading it longer than me.
I'm on chapter 28, around 115 chapters left until i catch up

The later chapters gets darker as more characters are dying, but I doubt they'll kill off some of the main exorcists, but who knows? |

They may kill off 1 or 2, in Kekkaishi, a main character's death is known, and he was popular among the fans too.

I watched the first episode of the anime... but that was about it.
It didn't strike me right away as being a "Must watch" but nor did it turn my head and make me think "Nope, I dislike this anime."
So for now, I'll stick to other ones I want to watch and if I get the time I might delve into this one a bit more.

Chapter 145 is out, woah, the first Level 4 Akuma in the series going against Allen.
Although I think it's much uglier than the Level 3s

Well I personally knew there would be a level 4 akuma, but I never knew it would be that ugly......
I'm annoyed seeing how overwhelmingly powerful a level 3 was, then suddenly another level showed up right out of the blue.....
Does this mean D.Gray is close to it's end?

It's been long since the Level 3 first appeared.
Plus I doubt it's near it's end. All of the Noahs are still alive, some of them weren't even introduced yet.

Well in chapters it has been a long time, but think about how early it showed up in sequence of events. Allen's extremely powerful with his full Crown Clown form, it needed to be balanced again. Allen can completely wipe out Level 3's easily with the Crown Clown Sword. The problem is the other Exorcists like Lavi who can't keep up with this flow of power. Krory's still asleep since the Noah's Ark invasion. Lenalee still can't use the Dark Boots but I know she will use them soon, if not already against this Level 4. Kanda has those double swords thing technique, we haven't seen the full extent of it's power as he only used it against Skin so far and it seems like a desperation move anyway. |

Whattaya mean crappiest cliffhanger? These types of cliffhanger happens all the time in Shonen Jump mangas, so if you wanna diss this manga might aswell do it to the whole lot.
But it still does make you anxious to see Lenalee's new innocence.
*If you think about it she kinda went though the same thing as Allen did.

I hate cliffhangers... leaves you hangin... but i suppose this is how they make people follow on with the manga/anime
Anyways, this cliffhanger, really, Lenalee's in a position where she could die at any given time... jeez, D.Grayman makes goodguys dieing a common occurence....
