No. I'm not sure when Hinata has an important role in the episodes yet. I'm at episode 148 and I haven't found anything like that. Although Kimimaro kills himself practically, but you should watch the episodes on youtube.
I liked how Kidoumaru sets up all the traps and I liked the look on Neji's face when Sakon sets up that paper bomb in front of them.

To be percise Tsunade (or the fifth) told Shikamaru to get all the most powerful genins he could since all the jounins were out on missions or needed at the village. Hinata wasn't strong enough to get past the priliminary round. |

*takes a deep breath*
First of all it's Preliminary not Priminary
In the episodes they were supposed to get to this tower in the middle of the forest as part of becoming a chuunin (the chuunin exam) and get back, but since more people crossed the finish line then all the adults thought would they made a preliminary round for all the genins to fight each other without having a rest from what they did. That way there would be enough people for the chuunin exam necessary. Of course none of the genins approved of this, but they still managed to take Hinata, Rock lee, Chouji, 2 of the sound people, 2 of Kabuto's people, Kiba, Sakura, Ino, and TenTen. Then they all got to go back after the last match.
